EP 407. Operation Stoned Duck (Part 3): The Aftermath

On October 17, 2007, the hammer finally came down on young Sam Necaise, who believed himself bulletproof. It came in the form of "every green game warden truck in the state of Mississippi and guys wearing FBI jackets." Swinging that big hammer was Kennie Prince, lead undercover investigator of Operation Stoned Duck.  Necaise and Prince each recall that fateful day from their own perspectives. And while the good guys won and Necaise was incarcerated for his crimes, the story was not over.  Far from it. An  amazing story of redemption, of faith and of friendship had, in fact, only just begun. You do not want to miss this final episode!  I promise it will leave you with plenty to think about during the quiet moments between life's volleys.

Episode 225: Jack Garcia – Undercover Agent, Making Jack Falcone

Episode 225: Jack Garcia – Undercover Agent, Making Jack Falcone

Retired agent Joaquin "Jack" Garcia reviews several of his early undercover roles and his final role infiltrating the New York mob as "Jack Falcone." During this UCA role, Jack played a self-described Sicilian jewel thief and drug dealer from Miami, Florida. In New York, after gaining the trust of mobster Greg DePalma, Jack was able to penetrate the Gambino crime family for nearly three years. The case resulted in the arrest and conviction of 35 mobsters, including the top members of the Gambino crime family. Jack played his undercover role so convincingly that he was proposed for membership into La Cosa Nostra. Jack served in the FBI for 26 years. During his career, he was assigned to the Newark, San Juan, Philadelphia, and New York Divisions. However, for 24 out of his 26 years of service he traveled all around the country successfully working undercover in over 100 FBI operations.

Retired agent Richard "Rich" Garcia served in the FBI for 25 years. In this episode of FBI Retired Case File Review, Rich Garcia reviews his Group 1 Undercover Operation (UCO), where agents set up a bogus company to sell beepers, cell phones, shortwave radios, and other high-technology devices to Colombian drug smugglers transporting shipping drugs from Central and South America to the United States. The case, code-named "Cat-Com" for Catch Communications, resulted in charges against 93 alleged drug traffickers, including the leaders of three distribution networks.

Rich Garcia was a street agent in the Dallas, San Juan, and Miami Divisions. He held management level positions at FBIHQ, Washington Field Office, and the El Paso and Houston Divisions. He retired as the Assistant Director in Charge of the Los Angeles Field Office.

Vincent Cefalu: Operation Fast and Furious and Project Gunrunner Whistleblower, Author of Ratsnakes

Vincent Cefalu: Operation Fast and Furious and Project Gunrunner Whistleblower, Author of Ratsnakes

On this special episode of the Resistance Library Podcast, Sam Jacobs speaks with the author and former ATF agent, Vincent Cefalu.

Vincent Cefalu is best known as the primary whistleblower who exposed Operation Fast and Furious and Project Gunrunner to the American public - but that’s not how he wants to be remembered. Cefalu is a curious figure, one who strongly believes in the mission of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms and for reasons that are not easily dismissed by the same canned arguments we’ve all spouted at one time or another. A humble figure, he’s ready to provide credit to the other, lesser-known whistleblowers of the ATF.

Sam talked with Mr. Cefalu about his history working with the ATF, his role in exposing arguably the biggest scandal of the Obama Administration and his memoir, Ratsnakes, which is an account of his several decades long career with the ATF with scant mention of the high-profile scandal that he helped to break.
