    Flying High!

    Flying High!
"Now boarding, all groups, all rows..." Unless, of course, you're flying Southwest Airlines. The staff at one of the nation's largest airlines are fighting back and it's time for the rest of America to do the same. Jen Psaki would have you believe the "hubbub" isn't related to the vaccine mandates but Jeff and Myke feel otherwise and they get into it in this week's show. Other topics include: the DOJ going after soccer moms, the very obvious PsyOp that is the "Facebook Whistleblower," the debt ceiling, and Australia's descent into tyranny. This week we have a double Nerd Topic: Venom: Let There Be Carnage; and Superman the newest victim to woke madness.

Ep042 || Venom: Let There Be Carnage

Ep042 || Venom: Let There Be Carnage

Episode Forty-Two. In this episode, the guys talk about the follow-up to the 2018 Sony film, Venom: Let There Be Carnage. Was it a unanimous feeling for both Ken and Jeremy in liking the sequel over the original?

This week on The Double Feature, the guys get right into it by discussing the buzzworthy post-credits scene. How will Venom: Let There Be Carnage's post-credits scene affect future films? Then, they discuss whether or not the director, Andy Serkis, was on to something with a shorter than usual 1hr 37min runtime (including credits). Did the guys think the movie runtime was too short or did they think it was perfect the way it was? In the second half of the episode, the guys hand out their Weekly Reel Awards. And, lastly, the guys Guess the Rotten Tomatoes score. Who will take the early season 3 lead in the race to become the season 3 champ?

    Venom: Let There Be Carnage

    Venom: Let There Be Carnage

Speaking of toxic relationships, have you watched the new Venom movie, Venom: Let There Be Carnage? Tom Hardy returns as the sweaty, parasitic antihero, this time contending with the blood-red Carnage, played by Woody Harrelson. We review this latest comic-book movie from Sony and try to understand why these movies are so popular. Later in the show, we discuss The Many Saints of Newark, a prequel movie for the hit prestige drama The Sopranos, starring Michael Gandolfini (son of the late James Gandolfini) as a teenage Tony Soprano, which is now in theaters and playing on HBO Max for a limited time.

What If...? Ep8 AND Venom 2 Review, Marvel Lawsuit Update, Boba Fett Release Date

We have a double feature of reviews this week on The Direct Podcast!

What If...? debuts its penultimate episode, exploring a universe where Ultron won. We recap and review Marvel animated's eighth episode, analyze what the groundbreaking ending means, and offer our predictions for the finale.

On the theatrical side, Venom: Let There Be Carnage has hit theaters! With much of the marketing campaign focused on the film's post credits scene, was the movie itself any good? We analyze all things Eddie Brock and deep dive into the future plans for the Venom franchise.

Aside from the reviews, all three branches of Marvel, DC, and Star Wars brought big news this week. Is the Marvel Cinematic Universe in danger of losing some of their biggest characters? Who is joining the cast of Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom? Is The Book of Boba Fett's release date a conflict of interest?

What If...? Ep1 Review, Venom 2 Delayed, The Direct Discourse (w/ David Thompson)

What If...? Ep1 Review, Venom 2 Delayed, The Direct Discourse (w/ David Thompson)

Between movie delays, season premieres, merchandise leaks, and more, The Direct Podcast is loaded this week with everything you need to know about the universes you love.

What If..? is here and Marvel Studios' first animated series has given fans a sneak peek into the vast multiverse. Episode one features Peggy Carter becoming the first Avenger in a re-telling of the classic Captain America story. What were the highs and lows of the first episode? What is to be expected moving forward in the MCU's first animated series? We break everything down in our What If..? review.

The biggest news of the week is another delay for Venom: Let There Be Carnage from September 24 to October 15. With concerns rising about the COVID-19 Delta Variant and shaky box office returns from comic book movies this year, Sony Pictures is giving their Tom Hardy sequel another few weeks to get as much as they can out of the theatrical release. What does this mean for the rest of the 2021 slate? Is Spider-Man: No Way Home in danger of delay?

On the flip side of that coin, Disney CEO Bob Chapek re-confirmed that Shang-Chi will continue as planned with a 45-day theatrical release on September 3. This will be an "interesting experiment" for Disney as they test the waters of theatrical releases among the fluid COVID-19 situation.

A great equalizer in these decisions is the Box Office. After The Suicide Squad underperformed early expectations in the books, what is the future of Box Office in the year 2021? We sit down with our Box Office correspondent David Thompson to navigate these uncharted waters.

All of that plus your top news, a Direct Discourse about world-building, and more on this week's The Direct Podcast.
