This series is meant to help us discern which doctrines are non-negotiable (closed-hand) and which ones leave room for conversations and questions (open-hand). Today we look at the reality that sin is not just something we do or embrace (idolatry), but it’s actually our condition. Thanks to the sin of Adam we are now sinful people who try to justify sin instead of repent of it. Today we look at a number of ways we try to cover or justify our sin, but will discover that Jesus is the only justification we need.

At Christmas we celebrate the incarnation, or becoming human, of the Son of God. In order for salvation to take place, the eternal Son of God put on flesh and became a man. But why is the incarnation such a pivotal and beautiful part of the Christian faith? Why did it have to take place like this? Was there another way God could save humanity without becoming humanity? We discuss these questions and more on this episode.

However, those who don’t skip the foundation, crippling their faith. Inevitably storms will come in our lives, but as our foundation Jesus also becomes an anchor for us. Where there are a lot of voices and opinions as to how we should function in those storms, only Jesus anchors us to Truth and gives us direction.

BOOK OF JUDE: Part 3 – Showing Mercy to Those Who Wander // Pastor Christian Bonham

Since the Fall of mankind (Genesis 3) our world has been full of spiritual relativism and a battle for what’s true. In the Book of Jude, Jude tells readers as worshippers of the One True God they should contend for the faith amidst the rising sin and spiritual apostasy. It’s not a call to fight, however, but a call to Lordship and living their lives surrendered to Jesus.
