Pat talks with the Director of the Breast Program at the Valley Mount Sinai Comprehensive Cancer Care Center in Paramus, Dr. Laura Klein.She discusses breast cancer, screening, lifestyle changes and dense breasts.

She is 60 and looks forward to competing for another decade.  She also describes a man and a woman, both in their seventies who compete at her club, which has a great sense of belonging.

She loves to keep going and reaching more and more goals as a triathlete.

She loves showing the world and herself that she can do it!  Her kids are impressed, too.

The feeling not only of accomplishment but of proving herself kept her motivated.

How Hilary went from almost flunking gym class to becoming a driven athlete.

Pat talks with Hilary JM Topper, author of "From Couch Potato to Endurance Athlete".  It's all about how she went from drinking wine on the couch every night to becoming a triathlete.  Her transformation is all the more impressive since she did it approaching age 50 and almost flunked gym class as a child.  

This is an issue we don't have the luxury of ignoring.

 The family has long been a conservation advocate.  Many places like Flint and Jackson have extreme water challenges.  Plus, we can use reusable water bottles so all that plastic doesn't end up in landfills.

The Supreme Court is considering some limitations to the Clean Water Act.

Pat talks with Mustafa Santiago Ali of the National Wildlife Federation and the Walton Family Fund, discussing the importance of water conservation and the many places with water crises.  He also talks about how the Supreme Court is taking a case that may limit the Clean Water Act, as we celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Act.

Strides are made every year but we aren't home free, by any means.

Dr. Winer is hopeful but sees manychallenges ahead.

Obesity is a huge problem becausethere is a strong connection to ten different cancers.  It will be one of the biggest challenges in the next ten to twenty years.

Dr. Winer says there is movement awayfrom the devastation of treatments such as chemo and toward immunotherapy.

One of the biggest challenges is bringing equal access in cancer treatments to everyone.

While we continually need moremoney for cancer research, Dr. Winer notes the great strides that have been made, but admits there are big challenges.

Pat talks with internationally renowned breast cancer expert Dr. Eric Winer who is Director of Yale Cancer Center discussing cancer -- where we are today and where we may be tomorrow.  The interview is on the heels of the President's recent cancer moonshot speech.

Dr. Burton says getting the Moderna booster if you previously got the Pfizer booster, is safe.  He also says Covid is probably here to stay.  

Logistically speaking, Dr. Burton says you can get the flu shot and the booster at the same time, even in the same arm.
