    ABOUT LCDR BRENDA ROBINSON

Brenda earned her private pilot certificate at MacArthur Airport in Islip, New York. While a senior at Dowling, a military services meeting paved Brenda's path to a military flight deck. Her 1977 selection as one of 10 women nationwide to attend the Navy's Aviation Officer Candidate School in Pensacola, FL, launched her on a path to becoming a naval aviator.

She became the first African-American female graduate from Aviation Officer Candidate School. Her entire career is peppered with firsts for African-American women in the U.S. Navy: flight instructor, evaluator, and VIP transport pilot, to name a few.

Today, Brenda shares her success stories in a number of ways. She published Success is an Attitude: Goal Achievement for a Lifetime in 1995. She is a sought-after speaker at schools and launched the Aviation Camps of the Carolinas in late 2014. She is currently working on her next book, The Very First Raven.

Captain Reyne O'Shaughnessey - Passionate Pilot Health Advocate

Captain Reyne O'Shaughnessey - Passionate Pilot Health Advocate
Captain Reyné O’Shaughnessy has been a commercial airline pilot for over 34 years for a Fortune 500 company.

Before recently retiring, she captained Boeing 767s and has logged more than 10,000 hours of heavy jet flight time and was one of the first women qualified in 747s.

Reyne recently launched a book – “This is Your Captain Speaking, What You Should Know About Your Pilot’s Mental Health” that was released on September 21, 2021.

And yours truly edited the manuscript!

Her book has become a #1 bestseller and hot new release in multiple categories on Amazon.

Reyne’s new book combines her 3 decades as an airline pilot and ten years as an aviation strategist specializing in health and wellbeing. It takes a closer look at the mental health issues facing pilots today and offers practical solutions.

Under current FAA regulations, pilots experiencing conditions such as stress, anxiety, and depression risk losing their medical certificate, and therefore their livelihood, if they report these conditions.

Reyne will share her own “come to Jesus” story about a health crisis that ultimately saved her life, as well as shifted its trajectory. After listening to thousands of stories from her colleagues, she decided to give voice to the voiceless and become a passionate advocate for reforming regulations regarding pilot mental health.

You won’t want to miss this crucial and compelling conversation.

Dr. Carolina Anderson - Multifaceted Brilliance

Dr. Carolina Anderson - Multifaceted Brilliance
Dr. Carolina Anderson was born in South America into an aviation family and soloed a glider at age 14.

Her father, a pilot for the Columbian airline Avianca, encouraged her to pursue aviation, but also to have a Plan B career plan.

Carolina earned her private pilot certificate while simultaneously studying for a mechanical engineering degree.

Although she loved engineering, during an internship she realized she had to follow her passion for aviation.

She went on to obtain an array of pilot ratings including flight instructor, airline transport pilot, and teaches upset recovery and tailwheel training. She flies gliders, seaplanes, and aerobatics.

Carolina earned a PhD in Aviation and is an Associate Professor at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Daytona Beach Florida.

She lives with her brainy professor husband and 2 young girls on a grass airstrip with a hangar full of airplanes steps away from their front door.

Carolina will give a glimpse of what it’s like to live, breath, work and play airplanes full time.
