Despite an unexpected redshirt year and the devastating dismissal of Coach Knight, George and his teammates rallied together and took Hoosier nation on one of the most unexpected and exhilarating runs to the championship game in the history of March Madness.

After graduating IU and having a wildly successful hoops career overseas, George and his towering twin, Jeff Newton, returned to their southern roots and set up shop with Ooowee BBQ… the most delicious food that anybody has ever eaten anywhere in the history of the world.

Armond “Money” Hill grew up hooping on the legendary playgrounds of NYC, earning his way into the hallowed halls of Princeton where he won Ivy League MVP and an NIT Title under iconic Coach Pete Carril.

A top-ten draft pick, Coach Hill played 8 seasons in the NBA for the likes of Hubie Brown, Lenny Wilkens and Don Nelson before he himself turned to coaching. After 18 years in the prep and collegiate ranks, including 8 years as the head coach of Columbia, Hill broke into the NBA under Terry Stotts in Atlanta.

A year later Doc Rivers brought Hill on as an assistant coach in Boston where they won an NBA championship in 2008 before moving on for a seven-year run with the Clippers. Hill has coached such greats as Kevin Garnett, Paul Pierce, Ray Allen, Kawhi Leonard, Blake Griffin and yes even Chris Paul, who gave Coach Hill his incredible nickname… MONEY.

They then make their way to Bloomington and meet up with Eric's parents, thus exceeding the legal limit for Pankowskis in any one city or township.

Regardless the good times roll on as the IU men and women's teams go undefeated for the week, tons of great pizza and ice cream is consumed, and the kiddos get to meet the players, the coaches, and yes.... even the one and only Robert Montgomery Knight!

The Hoosier Hysterics! - KHRISTIAN LANDER

Khristian Lander was a high school phenom out of Evansville. The nation's top point guard in his class, he was destined to become a McDonald's All-American and leading contender for Mr. Basketball his senior year. Instead, he reclassified and committed to play for Archie Miller at IU.

Arriving in Bloomington as a 17-year-old freshman, things couldn't have gone much worse for Khristian, the entire Hoosier program, or for a world thrown headlong into a pandemic. He struggled for playing time, and when he did make it onto the court things usually didn't go well. Simply put, Khristian lost his confidence.

After the season ended and Coach Miller was let go, Khristian was ready for a fresh start and entered his name into the transfer portal. But then Mike Woodson came to town.

Khristian soon recommitted to the Hoosiers. In doing so he has rediscovered joy in playing the game and has once again found his swagger. This year looks to be way more fun for everybody.

As a student, artist, volunteer and even entrepreneur, he excelled at whatever gained the attention of his laser focus.

And now, to the great fortune of all Indiana basketball fans, Jakai has firmly set his sights on the hardwood and will arrive at IU in 2023. And oh yes, this exceptional young man is bringing his plus-6 wingspan, defensive tenacity and ferocious dunks with him. Hallelujah!

Hailing from beautiful Pasadena in sunny southern California, Richard Mandeville grew up a USC fan and almost wound up a Wildcat playing for Lute Olson. Ultimately, however, he just couldn't say no to Coach Knight and everything Bloomington had to offer. He even grew to love the frigid winters!

Richard battled for five years alongside such Hoosier legends as Damon Bailey, Alan Henderson, Brian Evans, AJ Guyton and Michael Lewis, always ready to set a screen, grab a board, or knock down an open look.

It wasn't an easy five years for the towering big or the IU program, but Richard refused to quit and by the end this California kid became a proud Hoosier for life.

From retaining key players and staff, to landing sought after studs in the portal and on the recruiting trail, to waxing a professional team twice in international waters, to reuniting a fragmented program after two depressing decades, there is no doubt good times are here again!

Hearing Coach Woodson speak about all this and more, it's easy to understand why joy and confidence has returned to the men's basketball program right along with him... the ultimate prodigal son.
