    Sen Morimoto

    Sen Morimoto

"Sen Morimoto" is a producer, artist and multi-instrumentalist based in Chicago, who brings an often witty but always observational style of lyricism to his style of modern off-kilter R&B.

Born in Japan but moving to the USA when he was just a small child, Sen kicked off his musical journey by learning Saxophone under the tutelage of Charles Neville, a legendary jazz musician from the New Orleans scene. It was an experience that taught him a lot not just about playing Sax but in how to bring out the emotion and feeling in any song within your given instrument.

After a solo move to Chicago Sen would begin to meet many other likeminded musicians and producers, leading to his first album release, 2018's "Cannonball!".

There is a lot more to know about Sen's early years, and his approach to music, and of course that's just what Jay and Jesse are talking about on this installment of Roots to Grooves.

"Roots to Grooves" is a production of SIGNL.

Dog Star Swing ft. Charlie the Corgi and Friends

Dog Star Swing ft. Charlie the Corgi and Friends

Whether you prefer Betty's Boop or Betty's Bottom, we can all agree: The best part of Dog Star Swing is Ein! We analyze the episode top to, um, bottom, before welcoming the Charlie the corgi, the brightest star in Cowboy Bebop. As much as we love Charlie's barks and woofs, we are also thankful for his human mum, Steph, and his trainer, Rosie, for tagging along.

What is Pet Insurance? w/ Dr. Stacy of Pumpkin Pet Insurance

What is Pet Insurance? w/ Dr. Stacy of Pumpkin Pet Insurance

The episode you all have been waiting for!  I’ve been wanting to do an episode on pet insurance for forever, you've been asking for it, and I finally found the right people to interview. I speak with Dr. Stacy a veterinarian who works for Pumpkin Pet Insurance. Even though she does work for a specific insurance company she answers the broad questions like-

    • What is Pet Insurance?
    • Why should we have it?
    • How does it work?
    • What should a pet parent look for when choosing insurance?
    • What about the cost?

    Hope you enjoy!

Shi**y Dog Parents w/ Miranda of The Dog Park Bitch Podcast (Part 2)

This is Part 2 of one very long interview with Miranda from The Dog Park Bitch Podcast.  Part 1 can be found over on The Dog Park Bitch Podcast.  Highly recommend listening to part 1 first where Miranda interviews me and we  SPILL THE TEA about how we've both had our content stolen by other creators.

Part 2 starts off with us rounding out our opinion on having our work copied and our takeaways from the experience. Then we move into me interviewing Miranda about her podcast and travelling around in a camper with her 3 dogs.
And finally we finish the episode off with some humor- Miranda’s podcast name is the dog park bitch and the old name was shitty dog moms so we kept those themes and talked about how sometimes you have to be a bitch at the dog park and then WE RANT about shitty dog parents.

How you enjoy and remember Life's better WITH A DOG :)

The One About Hound Dogs w/ @charlottewithdogs and @jonathans.journal

The One About Hound Dogs w/ @charlottewithdogs and @jonathans.journal

This week I speak with Charlotte and Ashley, who are two fellow foxhound dog moms but also two former guests of the podcast! This is a long episode because we wanted to talk about our hounds ALOT, which comes as a surprise to no-one.

This is a great episode if you have a hound dog or  are curious about the hound breeds. We mainly talk about foxhounds and other large hound breeds but unfortunately weren’t able to talk about the history of all different hounds or some of the smaller hounds like beagles or bassets. However, much of the information about behavior is applicable to hound dogs on a whole.
    EPISODE HIGHLIGHTS

    • Our dogs are genetically related!!
    • The history of foxhounds and how its intertwined with American history.
    • Their energy level isn't as high as you’d expect from a working breed.
    • They are very adaptable to new situations and overall very tolerant and independent which makes them great family dogs.
    • Why traditional training doesn't work very well for hounds.
    • How to train them passively, especially with vocal commands and through modeling behavior from other dogs.
    • Reasons why we love life with a dog!

“The Punk Rock of Literature” (Interview with Dr Jonny Zweck)

Meet the man who ruined Alex's milk and cookies by writing a story so abjectly disgusting that it laid waste to bedtime. This week we're kicking off our 'Writers and their Partners' series, talking to Amy's partner, the Horror writer Jonny Zweck. (Sean refuses to participate in this misguided series next, even though it's patently his turn, and his partner is also a doc who writes the words. Alex, meanwhile, is threatening to go pick someone up so he can get involved. Be warned.) There's grammar talk, abject horror and the search for meaning, and the eternal question: how do you pronounce the word 'wolf'?

Evolution... or revolution with Krissa & Karen Lamore

Evolution... or revolution with Krissa & Karen Lamore

In this week's episode, Becca and Andrea interview Krissa and Karen Lamore. Krissa and Karen lead us through the topic of evolution and what that means for a mother-daughter relationship. Join Becca and Andrea as they learn about Krissa's 4 years in Hawaii where she went to WOOF (Work on Organic Farms), came back with a financé, and was supposed to travel around the USA in a trailer...but Krissa EVOLVED and it ended up being a transition into the passion-filled life that she lives today.

Tune in to hear about Krissa's journey and how her mom, Karen, guided her through it. Karen explains how the best way of helping in that time of evolution was not by dictating how she thought or wanted Krissa's life to go, but by asking her questions so she could answer to herself what she really wanted and needed most.

Evolution is something that everyone goes through, in all phases of life...after all, it is human nature. Evolution is not easy; it often comes with frustration and pain, but always results in the satisfaction of getting closer to our truest selves.
