Lana in Niko sta se julija 2023 polna navdušenja odpravila na potovanje in delo v Avstralijo. Prvih pet tednov sta neumorno iskala službo v Cairnsu, a jima sreča nikakor ni bila naklonjena.

V upanju na več priložnosti sta se preselila v Brisbane, kjer pa je bila konkurenca med iskalci zaposlitve neizprosna. Nekega dne sta tako ležala na postelji v Airbnb nastanitvi in složno rekla: “Ni nama uspelo! Odhajava domov!” Še isti popoldan se je zgodilo nekaj kar nihče od njiju ni niti slučajno pričakoval.

Pozdravljeni v 59. epizodi podkasta Potovanja in delo v tujini, kjer bomo končno govorili o delu in življenju v Avstraliji. Zakaj končno? 

Vse do danes ste me namreč zasuli z vsemi vprašanji kako je s pridobitvijo dela v Avstraliji, ali je za Slovence res na voljo delovna viza WH Avstralija, kakšne so tam cene in kakšen je "vibe" življenja.

Sama na žalost Avstralije še nisem obiskala, najbližje sem bila, ko sem živela in delala na Novi Zelandiji in že tam je življenje nekaj čisto posebnega, kar je težko ubesediti.

Na pogovor o Avstraliji sem povabila Alešo Krže, ki v Avstraliji prebiva že 10 let in v Sydneyu vodi svoj posel in opravlja delo osebne trenerke.

Pogovor sva pričeli o njenih začetkih in selitvi v Avstralijo ter kako dolgotrajen je postopek selitve in papirologije.

V 25. epizodi govorimo o trenutno najbolj aktualni temi - 'working holiday' vizi ali po slovensko: delovnih počitnicah na Novi Zelandiji. Zakaj aktualni? Nova Zelandija je bila namreč kar dve leti strogo zaprta med pandemijo koronavirusa kar je rezultiralo v tem, da zadnji dve leti WH vize niso bile na voljo. 12 aprila 2022 pa je Nova Zelandija zopet objavila, da je na voljo 100 delovnih viz za Slovence, ki želijo potovati na Novo Zelandijo in ob tem tudi delati zato, da si lažje financirajo svoj obisk te prelepe dežele. 

Vendar pa je potrebno omeniti nekaj pomembnih informacij: vizo lahko dobijo samo tisti med 18-30 letom. To vizo se dobi samo enkrat v življenju. Na uradni spletni strani je potrebno izpolniti prijavnico, plačati cca. 150 EUR in biti natančen pri vpisu svojih podatkov. Mnogo izmed prijavljenih je namreč zaradi napačnega izpolnjevanja zavrnjenih. Vaš potni list mora biti veljaven še tri mesece potem ko zapustite novo zelandijo, nekako bi svetovala, da je veljaven do konca leta 2024. Ko dobite odobritev za vizo imate eno leto časa, da se odpravite na Novo Zelandijo in ko prispete na letališče vam izdajo vizo, ki velja eno leto. Pri vstopu boste morda morali pokazati potrdilo, da imate na računu dovolj finančnih sredstev, meja se prične pri 4200 NZD, kar je ekvivalentno 2600 EUR. Seveda je še ogromno informacij, ki jih morate vedeti, uradna stran Nove Zelandije vam ponuja zares informativne vsebine, zato si vzemite čas in dobro preštudirajte.

Sama sem bila na Novi Zelandiji leta 2011, da pa vam dostavim najbolj sveže informacije sem k pogovoru povabila mlad, simpatičen par, Jana in Edino, ki sta se na Novo Zelandijo odpravila novembra 2019 in tam preživela kar 18 mesecev, saj so jima vizo podaljšali zaradi nepredvidljive pandemije koronavirusa. Opisala sta svojo izkušnjo in delila zares zlata vredne informacije. Informacij na temo delovnih počitnic na Novi Zelandiji je res precej zato vam priporočam naslednji zaporedni vrsni red:
