    I will survive

    I will survive

How do I find Peace of Mind? (The Restless Mind)

How do I find Peace of Mind? (The Restless Mind)

Peace remains a goal for introspective individuals around the world. The lifelong search for inner peace challenges us to learn more about ourselves while allowing us to evolve. This week's episode is a real story on one of the first interactions between Emperor Wu and Bodhidharma on finding Peace of Mind. Emperor Wu complains about his restless mind and how he found his peace within himself. This is one of the beautiful lessons learnt in life on Destiny, Virtues and Inner Voice.  When you carry out your actions with passion and true generosity and no expectation of honour or reward for what you have given or done that is when your life and your actions are a contribution. Blessedness is not the reward for virtue but virtue itself.

Episode #63 Why Can't We Get Into New Music

Are we too old to get into new music - is that something that happens to everyone?  In this episode we discuss reason, aside from getting older, that we can't get into "new music."  Aside from preferences we think there could be other reasons for it.

Divesting from Fast-Food Spirituality + Braiding Older Ways of Being / Mimi Young

Divesting from Fast-Food Spirituality + Braiding Older Ways of Being / Mimi Young

Mimi is a Taiwanese Canadian, a shamanic intuitive and founder of CEREMONIE. Mimi works with a blend of modalities including core shamanism, plant spirit healing, ancestral wisdom, dream work, chaos magick, and other Chinese esoterics and divination practices.

We talk about the concept of “wu” in Chinese culture and its likely implications in our concept of “woo” or “woo-woo.”  We also get into some things that we’ve been observing with wellness culture --  the chief of which is the problem with approaching spirituality and spiritual practices from a “fast-food” perspective.  We discuss how to relate with grace and respect to practices that are not directly a part of our biological lineage and the braiding that’s inviting us to remember older ways of  being in connection to the place where we are and the land that we’re on.

    WE DISCUSS

    • Her journey of learning to trust her intuition and accepting it as a gift
    • How she connects to her ancestral line through food
    • Her strong connection to the lunar calendar
    • The concept of “wu” in Chinese culture and its likely implications in our concept of “woo” or “woo-woo”
    • The difficulty with our modern emphasis on specialization and how that differed from earlier ways of being
    • The problem with approaching spirituality and spiritual practices from a “fast-food” perspective
    • How to relate with grace and respect to practices that are not directly a part of our biological lineage
    • What braiding we can do with returning to previous ways of relating to the world and modern innovations
    • How she is learning to mother herself in new ways

#47 Center Axis or Center Line in Classical Tai Chi and Kung Fu

#47 Center Axis or Center Line in Classical Tai Chi and Kung Fu

The Center Line or Center Axis is a posture and movement principle in many forms or styles of Qigong, Tai Chi Chuan, Northern Shaolin, Xing Yi Quan, Ba Gua Zhang, Lan Shou Quan, Three Kingdoms Cannon Fist and other styles of classical martial arts.

In this podcast you will learn about the center line concept, how it is formed of three points. What those points are and how they are important. Learn why and how to develop a good center line awareness and use it in  martial arts training and practice. Establishing and using your center line can enhance your power, prevent injuries, and improve your body control and balance in movement.

Practicing center line awareness and movement is also helpful for dodging and efficient turning in general.

A good center line is also important to establish before progressing to advanced Qigong practices.

Ep8. London - We interview Ama Maduoko, Chemistry Student and 'Ex'-Social Influencer.

Ep8. London - We interview Ama Maduoko, Chemistry Student and 'Ex'-Social Influencer.

In today's episode we discuss online censorship and its impact on people like Ama Maduoko, whose now-banned BaitLeicester meme-page finally lost its battle with Instagram's Terms of Service.

We talk about the importance of one's right to speak freely, surprisingly prompted by the recent racist Tiktok from US students that went viral on social media. From the materialising social implications that policing hate-speech may have - especially given the context of the time - we also move onto COVID-19 and deliberate how all may not be as it seems... Surprise, surprise!
