Philando Castile Murder Trial Not Guilty
A Minnesota police officer, whose fatal shooting of African American motorist Philando Castile of a traffic stop transfixed the nation as his girlfriend livestreamed the aftermath, was acquitted of all charges on Friday The case was extraordinary in Minnesota â it is believed to be the first time in the stateâs history that an officer was charged in an on-duty fatal shooting â and was closely watched by police officers and protesters.The trial took place amid a national debate over whether officers can or should be convicted of crimes.
