S10E2 - Sin City: The Babe Wore Red

Have you ever read something that you know is technically very good, but it just hits wrong? If so, you know how we felt reading Sin City (1994): The Babe Wore Red (this link is to a collection, of which we are reading one issue). Join us as we talk about the color red, inappropriately timed male sexuality, and the protagonist that wasn't.

Next week will be Mini-sode #2: Creator Profile on Gabriel Hernandez Walta, where we will sample several of the artists works and discuss our reactions. The week after that, we will be reading Daredevil (1964) #226-233: Born Again. We invite you to read along with us.

Veronica's theme this season is Redemption (for characters we didn't like before). Monte's theme is Femme Fatales.

We finally appeared on The Colored Pages Book Club, to discuss the adorable Bingo Love! Also check out Monte, Veronica, and Melissa's separate guest appearances on Waiting on the Trade! Monte, Veronica, and Melissa also each appeared on Watching Netflix Without You! And Veronica and Melissa appeared together on Super Sideshow to discuss the finale of the Hawkeye TV show, and Melissa appeared alone to discuss WandaVision.

Bat Signals: Our 'The Batman' Mini-Marathon Revealed!

Could you believe that a trio of nerds like us would be excited for another Batman movie? If you can't, then you must've missed our two-part 'Batman Forever' deep dive!

To prepare for 'The Batman' in March 2022, we're marathoning three films that director Matt Reeves cited as inspiration for his new DC superhero film. We've got ourselves a slew of gritty crime dramas from all corners of cinema history, but you'll have to listen to the episode to find out which ones are on the docket, bud! We're also pairing those with three comic book sources that fit the whole vibe. And after we finally get to see and dig into the new film, we'll finish this one off with the animated film that star Robert Pattinson called out as a favorite. It's a Batty good time through the next couple of months, people. Won't ya dance with us devils in the pale moonlight?

The NeverEnding Movie Marathon is a weekly podcastic celebration of cinema. Dive deep into fan-favorite films (#NoStinkers!), thematically curated to enhance your movie viewing by hosts Matt Detisch, Alex Logan, and Michael Rocco.

    Cestius Gallus Fiasco (AD 66)

    Cestius Gallus Fiasco (AD 66)
We look at the early months of the Jewish rebellion (August through December AD 66). We notice how the Zealots quickly organized their government and prepared for the Roman attack. The Roman Legate in Antioch, Cestius Gallus, did not waste any time responding to the rebellion, but his attack on Jerusalem was mismanaged from start to finish. His retreat at the time when his troops were just about to break through the wall, only strengthened and emboldened the Zealot cause, thus prolonging the war, and wreaking total havoc on the Temple, Jerusalem, and the whole Jewish nation. God sent multiple prophets and signs to warn them in advance, but they did not listen and heed.
