A potpourri of concerns this week as the question was pretty general -- What's On Your Mind? Most deal with concerns about the world stage and specifically how desperate things look to many of you. Letters from across the country today, plus a commentary you won't soon forget from the Random Ranter.

This week's question was struck a chord: name the one thing you like best about winter.  It's a pretty soft question but you delivered again, lots of answers and many of them quite poetic in their description of what many think strikes to the heart and soul of being Canadian.  Plus, it being Thursday, the Random Ranter is by with his latest take on EVs, electric vehicles.

This week's question was this: If you could name one thing to make us better communicate with each other, what would that change be? Do you have the answer to polarization? You sure offered a lot of possibilities and today we air them out. Plus the Random Ranter in a way you've never heard him before. Literally.

This week's question was a popular one: "What one change would you make to Canada's news media?". People from coast to coast to coast wrote in with their thoughts and some pretty good ideas. Also today the Random Ranter makes the case for Canada's teachers -- what he thinks they need.

The question to you was "Name the one change you would make to Canada's political system". And you had answers, lots of them and today we scan the mail and award one of the suggestions with a special prize. It's a new format for the Thursday edition of the Bridge. But the Random Ranter remains in place!

Today an encore presentation of an episode that originally aired on December 21st. Your letters this week are very moving, your memories of holidays past for family and friends. I thank you for all of them. I'll read as many as I can today and I'll pick one to be the recipient of the new book by Mark Bulgutch and myself, "How Canada Works". And of course the Random Ranter with his take on this time of year. 

Lots of your comments on this week's special episode on disinformation. Seems you loved it and want more. Plus the Ranter continues his three-part series on advice for the party leaders -- this week it's for the NDP.

The passing of a cultural icon prompted a lot of emotional reactions from across the country this week. A surprising amount considering many mentioned they had never heard of the person whose memory was being marked. And the Ranter begins a three part series on advice for the nation's political leaders.

A wide variety of opinions from across the country about recent events in Parliament, especially the debacle that led to the resignation of the Speaker.  Listeners are upset and they're spreading the blame all around.  And something different from the Ranter -- he has predictions. 

The Random Ranter's return from the summer has him thinking about affordable housing and what may be needed to come up with an answer to a dilemma facing many Canadians. That in the middle of a Your Turn with lots of your thoughts on the housing situation.  

The other day on a short "end bit" we had a story about some backlash to tipping and that got some of our listeners writing.  Today we have their letters.  Also a fair amount of comment about last Friday's Good Talk segment about whether here is a growing backlash against Pride in Canadian Politics. And the Random Ranter has his thoughts about bike lanes. 

It was a busy week managing the incoming letter's file as you had a lot to say about Moore-Butts Conversation #9 and particularly the issue of political messaging. There were also some climate change thoughts brought up with comments on the wildfires, and some memories about D-Day. Plus the Random Ranter drops by with some sage advice for all politicians.

Lots of issues from your letters this week starting with an important warning from my trucker friend in the Maritimes.  The forest fire problem in that region could get a lot worse before it gets better.  Also thoughts about our guests this week and one very much in particular.

Lots of emails with your views in the first twenty-four hours after the release of the Johnston Report on Election Interference. Those views reflect in many ways the different views we witnessed on Parliament Hill when the report was released.  And the Random Ranter has his take as well focusing on how this week has impacted the state of political leadership in the country.

A  wide range of opinions on various issues today are headlined for the most part by things triggered by the Random Ranter.  Last week he tore into the monarchy, some of you agreed but others argued for the tie to be kept.  And then the Ranter heads off in a new direction - China.

Lots of your mail on the passing of Gordon Lightfoot and today I highlight a few with great stories to talk about the impact the legendary singer had on our lives.  Then the Ranter comes by with his take on the monarchy.  Cover your ears if you want it to survive!

A chance comment the other day on retirement prompted a fair amount of mail from young and old listeners, forming the opening act of today's Your Turn.  Plus The Random Ranter has his take on the popularity of lithium and why we should think twice about it. 

After an Easter break you are back with your emails about the issues of the day from coalitions to Pierre Poilievre to the CBC.  And the Random Ranter makes his return by joining the discussion about Climate Change.  It's a packed episode.

Listeners outdid themselves this week by answering in a big way their own methods of fighting climate change.  Some of the ideas are quite unique and perhaps worth considering.  Plus the Random Ranter drops by with his weekly commentary, this time on violence in our downtown cores.
