BetUS.com - https://bit.ly/DSPMediaBetUS Two weeks ago Aggies fans everywhere were writing off the A&M football season, making excuses, and dreaming about ‘what might’ve been’. Welcome to the Aggies Daily Blitz by DSP Media in partnership with AllAggies.com. Then, after the surprising upset of Alabama, there is new life for the Aggies in the College Football Playoff landscape, and the Missouri Tigers are next on the schedule. The Tigers (3-3, 0-2 SEC) have had a very similar up-and-down season as A&M, alternating wins and losses over their first four games before tossing up a 62-24 clunker to Tennessee in Columbia in Week 5. Last week the Tigers got back on track against North Texas. A&M quarterback Zach Calzada had the game of his career against Alabama last week spreading the ball around between Isaiah Spiller and Ainias Smith who both had 10 receptions. Only eight FBS teams have surrendered more points per game than Missouri’s 37.5, so it’s up to Calzada to keep that trend going. The Tigers have had issues stopping the run, which should be the focus for A&M entering the game, with running back Isaiah Spiller averaging nearly 6 yards per carry. Is Missouri a trap game or will the Aggies handle business against the Tigers? Let’s discuss! BetUS.com - https://bit.ly/DSPMediaBetUS Just one week ago, Aggies fans everywhere were writing off the A&M football season, making excuses, and dreaming about ‘what might’ve been’. Welcome to the Aggies Daily Blitz by DSP Media in partnership with AllAggies.com. But now, after the surprising upset of Alabama, is there new life for the Aggies in the College Football Playoff landscape? Chances aren’t’ good, but were they really that great before losses to Arkansas and Mississippi State? A&M had wins over Kent State, Colorado (barely), and New Mexico. Not necessarily a great resume for inclusion in the AP Top 10, much less the Top 5. Then with the two in-conference losses, all hope was lost. The team is inconsistent, the offensive line is young and inexperienced, and the quarterback position is iffy at best. Week 6, a game that was supposed to mean so much to the Aggies before the season started, was now an opportunity for A&M to be embarrassed on national television. But a funny thing happened on the way to the butt-kicking that was expected. The Aggies showed up. The 12th Man showed up. Zach Calzada showed up. And coach Jimbo Fisher showed up, ready to best his mentor and former boss, Nick Saban. The Aggies beat the Crimson Tide and are back in the Top 25. What does that mean for the rest of the season and for their SEC West and College Football Playoff chances? Let’s discuss! Texas A&M Aggies Daily Blitz – 10/4/21 – Jimbo Fisher and Zach Calzada: The Good News Is…
The worst-case scenario for the 2021 Texas A&M Aggies has occurred. We should’ve called this after Week 1 when starting quarterback Haynes King went down with an injury, but because we were told King and backup Zach Calzada were so close in ability, we didn’t truly understand what was happening. BetUS.com - https://bit.ly/DSPMediaBetUS Does the 3-2 overall record and 0-2 SEC record mean the season is over? Yes. Does it mean all is lost? No. There are some good things that can come from this, and it’s up to coach Jimbo Fisher to make sure that happens. Calzada should literally have zero pressure on him the rest of the way. There is nothing to play for but pride for the rest of 2021, and the entire Aggies offense should breathe a sigh of relief and be able to play loose in each remaining game. Part of the reason A&M is in this situation is because of young players up front on the offensive line, but the Aggies have young players everywhere waiting for playing time. This season should give them the perfect opportunity to get some much-needed experience in game time situations. That includes the Alabama game this weekend. With A&M playing a loose, unpredictable game, they could keep it close. They won’t win, but at least they could keep it respectable. There are no expectations by fans for anything other than improvement. On the offensive line, quarterback position, and defensive secondary. But overall, who’s to blame for all of this? Let’s discuss! Texas A&M Aggies Daily Blitz – 9/29/21 – What Offensive Changes Should Be Made Against Mississippi State?
Most of Texas A&M’ s personnel losses from a very successful 2020 campaign were on the offensive side of the ball, and back during a spring ball the projected 2021 lineup seemed like it would be adequate barring any injuries. BetUS.com - https://bit.ly/DSPMediaBetUS Welcome to the Aggies Daily Blitz by DSP Media in partnership with AllAggies.com. Injuries, however, are part of the game, and it seems that’s at least part of what’s handcuffing the Aggies’ offense right now. Projected starters like Luke Matthews and Haynes King have fallen to injury early, and A&M seems unable to adapt. Only running back Isaiah Spiller, receiver Ainias Smith, and tight end Jalen Wydermyer were lined up in the exact same positions as they were against North Carolina in the Orange Bowl last season. Offensive line anchor Kenyon Green played in three different spots on the line against Arkansas. The offense must adapt to the injuries and the perceived lack of talent and ability at crucial positions on the offense. The rest of the Aggies’ season is in the hands of head coach Jimbo Fisher and offensive coordinator Darrell Dickey. They must adapt the offensive scheme to make backup quarterback Zach Calzada more comfortable in the pocket, and more confident in his ability. How? Let’s discuss. Texas A&M Aggies Daily Blitz – 9/27/21 – Arkansas 20, A& 10; Why The Aggies Won’t Recover
No. 16 Arkansas devastated No. 7 Texas A&M on Saturday, beating its old SWC rival for the first time since the two became SEC foes. Presented by BetUS.com - Bet with the 3-Decade leader, BetUS! Arkansas bullied an A&M team that struggled offensively in each of its first three games, including a near-miss upset against Colorado in Week 2. Aggies quarterback Zach Calzada was sacked three times, pressured eight times, and posted nine tackles for loss, usually without bringing any extra pressure. The loss brings more questions than answers after a game in which the offense managed just 4.6 yards per play against the physical and punishing Arkansas defensive line. Running back Isaiah Spiller did his best to carry the offense himself with 95 yards rushing and 26 yards receiving, but Calzada never got the passing game going, and had just one pass beyond 20 yards. Calzada has failed to complete 60% of his passes in his two starts, and thanks to injuries, he’s playing behind one of the most inexperienced offensive lines in the league. The A&M defense is legitimate and excellent, but it can only do so much to carry a struggling offense. With all talent on the roster, it’s hard to watch this offense struggle like it does. Head coach Jimbo Fisher needs to figure out ways to make the game simpler for Calzada. He does not appear comfortable in the pocket or in games in general. Unless Calzada can improve his reads and gain more comfort in the pocket, things will only get worse. Let’s discuss! Texas A&M Aggies Daily Blitz – 9/24/21 – Leal vs Jefferson, Aggies vs Razorbacks: What To Watch For

Texas A&M Aggies Daily Blitz – 9/24/21 – Leal vs Jefferson, Aggies vs Razorbacks: What To Watch For
The SEC once again provides a premier college football matchup, with the Texas A&M Aggies and the Arkansas Razorbacks playing in the Southwest Classic at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas. BetUS.com - https://bit.ly/DSPMediaBetUS Welcome to the Aggies Daily Blitz by DSP Media in partnership with AllAggies.com. Arkansas head coach Sam Pittman brought respect back to the Razorbacks last year in his debut season in Fayetteville. And he continues that improvement in 2021 as the Razorbacks find themselves 3-0 on the season and at No. 16 in the AP Top 25 after outstanding defensive showings against Rice, Texas, and Georgia Southern. A&M head coach Jimbo Fisher clearly has his team trending in the right direction at 3-0, but questions remain offensively while the defense continues to dominate games and create wins. The Razorbacks hold the all-time record over the Aggies, going way back to the early days of the old Southwest Conference, 41-33-3, but A&M has won nine in a row since joining the SEC, and is looking to extend their streak. The good news for Aggies fans is that Zach Calzada played well over the last five or six quarters after it looked like he might not be able to handle the starting duties effectively. The bad news is the Arkansas defense enters the game Saturday allowing only 3.97 yards per play and ranks fifth in the SEC holding teams to 16 points per game. Points and offensive production are going to be at a premium with both teams having similar styles of play and both teams relying heavily on their defenses. Arkansas is looking to take the next step with a big win over a conference rival, and the Aggies are looking to stay undefeated with their eyes on Alabama in Week 6 and the college football playoffs down the road. Texas A&M Aggies Daily Blitz – 9/21/21 – Aggies 34, Lobos 0; What Went Right, What Went Wrong
The Texas A&M Aggies didn’t have the best showing in Week 2 against the Colorado Buffaloes. Both sides of the ball played much better in Week 3, but there are still glaring issues for head coach Jimbo Fisher to address. Presented by BetUS.com - Bet with the 3-Decade leader, BetUS! The dominant defense and inconsistent offense recipe won’t win many games in the SEC, which is where the Aggies find themselves for the Week 4 matchup with Arkansas in the Southwest Classic at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas on Sept. 25. Offseason questions about the offensive line remain, and now we can lump tight end Jalen Wydermyer in that discussion too, because he’s not his old self right now. Despite putting up 429 yards on 67 offensive plays, the A&M offensive line struggled terribly, especially in the first half. The defense was good, of course, against New Mexico, with the shutout, but there were other Aggies bright spots for the day. We see now why quarterback Zach Calzada was in contention to be the starter all offseason. His performance against New Mexico was what we all thought we would see when he came in for the injured Haynes King against Colorado. We also now see why head coach Jimbo Fisher is so high on his young up-and-coming wide receivers, as Demond Demas and Moose Muhammad III both showed flashes on Saturday. What should the Aggies expect from the Lobos in week 3? Let’s discuss! But there’s not time to panic and worry, because week 3 is right around the corner and it comes at home at Kyle Field in the form of the New Mexico Lobos. Last week, Lobos’ quarterback Terry Wilson passed for 382 yards and three touchdowns to beat in-state rival New Mexico State 34-23. Wilson is a product of the transfer portal with SEC experience and comes to the New Mexico program after leaving Kentucky and give New Mexico a much-needed passing attack. Last week, the Lobos’ leading rusher, Bobby Cole, went off for 107 yards on 20 carries while leading receiver Mannie Logan-Greene had 106 yards on seven catches. The Lobos’ offense is a balanced attack with Wilson under center. On defense, the Lobos are not without playmakers. Linebacker Tavian Combs is the team’s returning leading tackler and has his eyes all over the field. What should the Aggies expect from the Lobos in week 3? Let’s discuss! BetUS.com - https://bit.ly/DSPMediaBetUS It seems like after the Colorado win, there was much more for Aggies fans to be worried about than excited about. Welcome to the Aggies Daily Blitz by DSP Media in partnership with AllAggies.com. In between the panic, the worry, and the Haynes King injury, A&M fans still have plenty to be thankful for and look forward to for 2021. The Aggies still pulled out a win, albeit in a come-from-behind effort with a backup quarterback. Is Zach Calzada really a backup quarterback? He challenged King through most of the fall and spring for the starting job, and seemingly they were both still in it until the week before the Kent State game when King was named the starter. And is King really that great? The offense sputtered at times against both Kent State and Colorado before King left the game. Is the defense the saving grace for this program right now? Is it possible a team can win a national title with just defense? Is the experience gained in the Colorado win worth anything? Let’s discuss! You know what he brought to the “football table” as a dual-threat quarterback. Welcome to the Aggies Daily Blitz by DSP Media in partnership with AllAggies.com. Manziel will always and forever be remembered as one of the most entertaining and unpredictable players in college football. He’ll also be remembered as the first-ever freshman to win the coveted Heisman Trophy, celebrating college football’s best player, and only the second Aggie to do so. Newly-crowned Aggies starting quarterback Haynes King fits in that same dual-threat category, but there are differences. I’m not going to sit here and tell you that King will win the Heisman as a freshman, or at all, and I’m not saying he’ll be a first-round NFL draft pick. But what I will say, is watch out, SEC. Texas A&M Aggies Daily Blitz – 8/25/21 – Aggies QB1: Haynes King
Sophomore Zach Calzada and redshirt freshman Haynes King are “both very capable of leading this team,” Aggies head coach Jimbo Fisher told the media at A&M media day. BetUS.com Welcome to the Aggies Daily Blitz by DSP Media in partnership with AllAggies.com. “Zach is an NFL talent,” said Fisher, “and Haynes is an NFL talent.” Fisher seemed pretty non-committal about naming a quarterback and about hinting at which one might have the edge, hyping both up equally all spring. But on Wednesday, Fisher confirmed on ESPN Radio that Haynes was the guy. Both are similar in size, with Calzada measuring at 6-4, 210-pounds, and King at 6-3, 200-pounds. But it seems the deciding factor was King’s mobility. In the one time we’ll hear from offensive coordinator Darrell Dickey all season, he said, “Zach is probably going to be a lot better in the pocket for his (style of) game,” Dickey said, “while Haynes is going to be a guy who can really extend plays and probably keep the defense a little more honest — probably a little more scared — with his ability to make plays with his feet.” Both are Fisher recruits, and both may have a future in CFB and the NFL. But for now, one gets the start against Kent State on September 4. And his name is Haynes King. Texas A&M Aggies Daily Blitz - 8/17/21 - How Can The Aggies Go Undefeated In 2021?

Texas A&M Aggies Daily Blitz - 8/17/21 - How Can The Aggies Go Undefeated In 2021?
The No. 6 ranking for the Aggies in the recently released Coaches Poll came as no surprise to the football world or A&M fans in College Station. Welcome to the Aggies Daily Blitz by DSP Media in partnership with AllAggies.com. Just about every other ranking by any sports media company had the Aggies in the top-10 heading into the college football season. Because of that ranking, the A&M was given odds by Bleacher Reports judging how all top 10 teams can pull off an undefeated 2021 season. Other notable teams include Clemson, Ohio State, Alabama, and Georgia. B/R shows the Aggies at 50-1 odds to go undefeated in 2021. By comparison, Alabama is 2-1, Clemson is 3-2, and Oklahoma is 9-2. Much like other media outlets this offseason, B/R noted the biggest obstacle for the Aggies and their undefeated season is the quarterback position and replacements on the offensive line. Even more so than the new A&M quarterback (whomever that may be) and a new offensive line, Bleacher Report names the Alabama Crimson Tide as the biggest hurdle the Aggies face. This should come as no surprise, and really, that can be said of just about any SEC team or any program in the country that has eyes on a national title. Not all was bad regarding the Aggies, however, upon review of B/R's ranking: “The good news, though, is the Aggies have an early schedule conducive to such an adjustment period. A road game against one of the worst teams in the Pac-12 (Colorado) is sandwiched by home games against Kent State and New Mexico. After that, it’s home games against Arkansas and Mississippi State, who figure to be the two worst teams in the SEC West. Jimbo Fisher could decide a month into the season that he made the wrong choice for starting quarterback and the Aggies still might start out 5-0.” If the Aggies get to 5-0, and they should, that could be where things get difficult, with Alabama making a trip to Kyle Field on October 9. Alabama, however, has its own problems. Replacements are needed for the Crimson Tide at quarterback, wide receiver, tight end, and offensive line. Alabama head coach Nick Saban has not had a difficult time in the past replacing skill-position players, but if Fisher and company are going to pounce, this season is probably the time. To put it into perspective, B/R put it this way: “To reiterate, though, we’re talking about a world in which a team with a new quarterback and an 80 percent new offensive line beats one of the greatest dynasties in the history of college football.” The evaluation of A&M's weaknesses is true. There are a lot of new moving parts, especially to the offense. But if an undefeated season for the Aggies can happen, it could very well be 2021. Texas A&M Aggies Daily Blitz – 8/11/21 – Jalen Wydermyer Talks Knives, Touchdown Dances, Quarterbacks, And The Aggies’ 2021 Offense
Texas A&M tight end Jalen Wydermyer was a third-down security blanket for then-quarterback Kellen Mond. Welcome to the Aggies Daily Blitz by DSP Media in partnership with AllAggies.com. Mond is now gone, playing in the NFL for the Minnesota Vikings, and now Wydermyer must gel with if not one, maybe two new quarterbacks in Aggieland. Wydermyer spoke to the media at Aggies Media Day over the weekend, and he gave his thoughts on his off-season knife accident, his two new quarterbacks, his fellow tight ends and well as Alabama. Baylor Cupp may very well have an impact on the A&M offense this season, and Wydermyer spoke about how the two paired together in various offensive sets might create matchup problems for opposing SEC defenses, “Some of the safeties are too small, and some of the linebackers are too slow. Me and Baylor, with that vertical threat on both sides of the line will create mismatches.” And regarding the offense in general and it’s improvement in 2021, Wydermyer stated, “It all starts in practice. The line is coming along really well and the quarterbacks are coming along well too. As long as we keep progressing, I feel like we can be better.” Please join us daily for the Aggies Daily Blitz at AllAggies.com or the Aggies Daily Blitz YouTube Channel, then continue the conversation on Twitter: @AggiesDaily and @IndyCarTim, or our new forums. Texas A&M Aggies Daily Blitz – 8/9/21 – Texas A&M Media Day: Darrell Dickey And The Offense
The Aggies defense is admittedly the strong side of the ball. But don’t sleep on the offense. – The Aggies Daily Blitz Podcast One of the biggest question marks surrounding a Texas A&M playoff run in 2021 is the position of quarterback. Gone is four-year starter Kellen Mond, and in to replace him is one of two talents. Haynes King and Zach Calzada. Welcome to the Aggies Daily Blitz by DSP Media in partnership with AllAggies.com. The Aggies hosted the media this past weekend and we had a chance to hear from coaches and players about their thoughts on the upcoming season and what changes we might see on both sides of the ball. We heard from Aggies’ offensive coordinator Darrell Dickey, who commented on the skills and talents of both quarterbacks, as well as their “slight” differences. He discussed the running game and the return of Isaiah Spiller and Devon Achane, and how they stack up against the rest of the SEC. Dickey also commented on how the skill sets of Spiller and Achane can assist in the development of both young quarterbacks. Texas A&M Aggies Daily Blitz – 8/6/21 – Why Aggies Fans Should Be Optimistic in 2021

Texas A&M Aggies Daily Blitz – 8/6/21 – Why Aggies Fans Should Be Optimistic in 2021
Many people believe that head coach Jimbo Fisher and Texas A&M Football did enough in 2020 to show that they belonged in the college football playoff over a team like Notre Dame. Welcome to the Aggies Daily Blitz by DSP Media in partnership with AllAggies.com. The Aggies defeated No. 4 Florida and won their last six regular season games by double digit points. But that was just good enough for a No. 5 ranking at the end of the regular season, which left them outside the playoff bracket. Texas A&M then mopped the Orange Bowl turf with the Tarheels of North Carolina to finish the season at 9-1. Now, expectations for Fisher and the Aggies are higher than ever to taste some playoff success in 2021. Why should A&M football fans be optimistic for a playoff run in 2021? Let’s discuss! Texas A&M Aggies Daily Blitz – 7/30/21 – Aggies Offense: Comparing 2020 and 2021

    Texas A&M Aggies Daily Blitz – 7/30/21 – Aggies Offense: Comparing 2020 and 2021
Texas A&M is not short on big-play threats on the offensive side of the ball, and coming off an Orange Bowl Championship, the Aggies looks to improve on a successful 2020. Welcome to the Aggies Daily Blitz by DSP Media in partnership with AllAggies.com. The investment in head coach Jimbo Fisher paid huge dividends in 2020, as the Aggies barely missed a spot in the College Football Playoff. Looking at the offensive side of the ball for 2021, the Aggies can boast maybe the SEC’s best running back in Isaiah Spiller. He rushed for 1.036 yards in 2020 in just 10 games. He’ll be sharing carries with Devon Achane, last season’s Orange Bowl MVP. The receiving corps remains intact from 2020, including junior Ainias Smith, who led the Aggies in touchdowns and receiving yards while also playing some running back. Also returning is Jalen Wydermyer, maybe the country’s best overall tight end. Perhaps the obvious question surrounding the Aggies offense is at quarterback. Who will replace 3+ year starter Kellen Mond? Haynes King has tremendous speed while Zach Calzada has an absolute rifle of an arm. Also concerning is the offensive line, which lost four starters from 2020. Kenyon Green shifts from tackle to guard and Tennessee transfer Jahmir Johnson looks to earn the starting spot at tackle on the other side.
