    About this Episode

My wife Jennie Brewster comes on the show to discuss her job working with children and also gives hot takes about the 2019 film Little Monsters. We dive deep into chatting about raising our daughter Ava, why Lupita Nyong’o should be in everything, which childhood entertainer would be helpful during a zombie apocalypse, Josh Gad’s best role, and why we love horror as a couple.

Jennie additionally shares her own childhood stories that turned her into a horror fan, which Wiggles member drives her nuts, and talks about why Mr. Rogers is the gold standard for human beings.

It’s a fun episode full of callbacks to your favourite childhood entertainers, bonding over horror, parenting wins and fails, and much more!

0025 - A Manical Ending - The Final Episode of No Stranger of Horror - Maniac (2012) feat. Angel Lynne

Every good thing comes to an end. No Stranger to Horror takes a year long hiatus to come back for one final episode covering one of my favorite genre films of all time. Maniac (2012) is a brutal remake of the 1980 film of the same name, and this POV bloodfest is the perfect place to end this podcast journey.

And for the last episode, I’m so happy to have the insanely talented photographer, graphic designer, and all-around wonderful person Angel Lynne. Angel and I are frequent collaborators and for this episode she tells me all about her journey in filmmaking, directing podcasting, one time using a kangaroo-skinned whip, and much more.

Thank you for all the listeners and I promise I’ll be back when life isn’t so chaotic, but until then, this was a wonderful journey and I love you all.

0019 The Cat's Meow - Brand New Cherry Flavor (2021 Mini-series) feat. Clare Wright

Enter the dark and twisted world of the film industry in the ‘90s with the Netflix miniseries Brand New Cherry Flavor.  Seen through a neo-noir lens by creators Nick Antosca and Lenore Zion, this adaptation of the novel by Todd Grimson is a purely sadistic story of vengeance and dark witchcraft.

Along with me on this ride through bizarre violence is none other than my guest Clare Wright! Clare is avid horror fan, film school grad, and a fashion aficionado, who runs a social media page dedicated to monthly deep dives into different subgenres of standout films.

We talk about our admiration for mutual friend and horror content creator Amber (@hornbloodfire) , I quiz Clare on her Letterboxd top picks, what makes Roy Hardaway the perfect love interest, Giallo films’ fashion, our mutual hate for genre gatekeepers, and much more!
