    About this Episode

80 minutes of jazzy soulful funky liquid drum and bass. Fat bass lines but not dark or minimal, rolling! Guaranteed to improve your workout and personally I like to listen alone in the car and hear that sub bass explode.

I am back with my 14th and last mix of lockdown as we are not really locked down anymore. This is part 2 of a 2 part drum and bass mix with 21 tunes on each. Artists starring in this episode include amongst others Calibre, Hybrid Minds, Workforce, Alb, Chase & Status remix of Shy FX feat Apache, Furney, Ed Solo, DRS, Lenzman, Benny Page, Logistics, Alb, Mystik Trip and High Maintenance.

If you are exercising, I hope you smash your workout. Either way turn your system up and enjoy!

Episode 132: 132 - Rubber Stamped Afro Progressive Tech - Warrior II

I am back as promised with a 2 part Afro Progressive Tech set to end 2022. After weeks of record shopping I narrowed my crate to 36 tunes. I spent a day looking at programming and rather than go 18 build up / 18 main set or an even 18 split, I choose my favourite 18 tunes for the 1st set which overall is a little more progressive but still has a defined Afro vibe leaving a darker less proggy set to follow in part 2.

I further refined the part II selection and recorded it last night. Despite the preparation and faultless way part I had gone, this wasn't the same for part II. I guess that was to be expected but making 4 live changes on the fly to tune selection and flow was not on my agenda. However I made it happen and am happy with the results. Part II follows part I theme with me dropping in 90-120 second mixes straight out or during last breakdown and I think it works really well. Big ups to the Pioneer Tours as the screens really enable this planning and execution in the smoothest fashion.

This set is more Afro than Progressive with a Tech sprinkle providing a slightly darker pumping club set to balance part I. Overall I am so happy with these 2 sets. I hope you enjoy listening as much as i did making. Shout out to Armand Smuts for giving me the drive to make it happen. Time to enjoy Christmas with the family now but I will back next year with more music. Let me know if you have any requests. It might be time for some D&B soon..........

Please contact me if you like this set and feel free to share the musical love to anyone and everyone. Thanks so much to Lee Jackson www.rebelcreates.com for his incredible artwork. Legend!

    Episode 131: 131 - Rubber Stamped Afro Progressive Tech - Warrior - Dec 2022

I am back as promised with a 2 part Afro Progressive Tech set to end 2022. After weeks of record shopping I narrowed my crate to 36 tunes. I spent a day looking at programming and rather than go 18 build up / 18 main set or an even 18 split, I choose my favourite 18 tunes for the 1st set which overall is a little more progressive but still has a defined Afro vibe leaving a darker less proggy set to follow in part 2. I am extremely happy with the results although I have not recorded part 2 yet.

I was going to record part 1 on Sunday morning but i wasn't feeling it and by the time i decided to start it was 20:30 and all I was thinking about was chilling before Monday gym and work. However what happened was unexplained and blew my mind. I have been dj'ing for 25 years with 15 playing out and doing my podcast. The stars aligned and what i recorded whether you like the tunes or not was my best technical set ever. I had 0 errors (unheard of) but more importantly I was dropping in 90-120 second mixes straight out or during last breakdown that worked seamlessly. Big ups to the Pioneer Tours as the screens really enable this planning and execution in the smoothest fashion.

I am humbled and over the moon happy with the result. Excited to bring you Warrior part 1. Turn it up really really loud and enjoy the Afro percussion and haunting melodies. I will get part 2 uploaded as quickly as possible. Please contact me if you like this set and feel free to share the musical love to anyone and everyone.

    Episode 126: 126 - Rubber Stamped Soulful House - Mesmerised - Jan 2022

Rubber is back 6 months late (sorry about that) with 100 minutes of smooth, grooving soulful house. Tracks from Booker T, Walter G, Shaun Escoffery, Blaze, Sea and Soul, Micky Moore, Soultrend Orchestra, Stacy Kidd, Soul II Soul and of course the incredible Mark Di Men.

Ideal for so many situations, this soulful beauty would be especially ideal for some sundowners or on the beach.

    Soulful house

Soulful house is a genre characterised by smooth and soulful vocals, relaxed atmosphere and melodic structure, as well as by influences from soul, jazz and funk. Tracks are distinguished by slower tempos (122 to 127 bpm), keyboards that give a deep sound, similar to the one from chill-out and lounge. House rhythms are often accompanied by instruments such as piano, guitar, bass guitar, double bass. Therefore, producers often collaborate with vocalists and live musicians. The tracks often feature solos by typical jazz wind instruments, such as saxophone or trumpet. Soulful house is a dance music genre due to its house beat and rhythm, but can also be heard as background music in restaurants and shops as well as on high fashion shows due to its relaxed, easy-going rhythm and refined sounds. Sometimes the genre perceived as a dance version of genres such as nu jazz and lounge.

    Episode 125: 125 - Rubber Stamped Progressive House - Underwater - July 2021

    Episode 125: 125 - Rubber Stamped Progressive House - Underwater - July 2021

110 minutes of Progressive House music talking you on a journey starting slower with haunting melodies/vocals and melodic synths/chords. Gradually picking up as it transitions to a higher tempo and uplifting progressive flavours with accompanying bass lines.

Artists Include: James Grant, Jody Wisternoff, Denney, Xinobi, PRAANA, CamelPhat, Nils Hoofman, Above and Beyond, London Grammar, Tau, Demented Soul. This mix has a huge Tinlicker flavour. Based out of Utrecht, Jordi van Achthoven and Micha Heyboer make up the Tinlicker duo. Always honing their progressive sounds, continually shaping their destination, creating their new ideal in electronic music. Crafted by an expression of computerised soul, Tinlicker are the modern face of Dutch electronic dance music. Massive shout out to the Utrecht boys.

This mix will be great for gym, a run, sun downers by the pool or early in a club. Turn it up!
