Going For It with Val Kehoe

Going For It with Val Kehoe

Ep. 10 I somehow convinced my mother and brother do jump from 15,000ft over the Algarve on my birthday for Irish Cancer Society last week raising over €1,600 for the charity very close to our family. If you're able to donate, the fundraiser is live until 6th August and you'll find the donate link here

Episode 10 we hear from the amazing Val Kehoe, CEO, marketing and sales director and model including everything else for her sustainable vintage clothing company Ripe Vintage. I loved Val's story on turning her passion project into her full time job where she now works her own hours, in her location of choice and reports to herself.

Val gives great wisdom on setting up a successful passion project which includes working on yourself first, she says personal development was key to building her confidence and resilience, and hanging around supportive people instead of negative ones who will drain your energy was key to her mental strength. Val says to spend time and get to know what you want and then to listen to that positive voice in your head, you don't have to be in the same career forever but life is too short to stay in a job you don't even like. Take risks and believe in yourself! I'm very motivated after listening back on this podcast. Please as always leave and feedback good or bad and I hope you guys enjoy.

Ep. 9. Hello everyone and welcome to episode 9 of the Movement More Podcast. This has been one of those episodes where I swear I filled 5 A4 pages with notes when I listened back! There's so much great advice in here from making the right decision when it comes to finding your dream job, to focusing for at least 4hr a week on your own personal development, to learning about powerful morning routines, to goal setting and habit formation.

Morgan, who runs Talent Hub, a thriving recruitment and coaching agency, says it is fundamental that we focus on developing ourselves into better people mentally and physically first if we want to get the most out of life ourselves. Step one in becoming better is consuming positive and helpful content to improve your mind and body. Assess yourself to see where you are at on a life satisfaction scale, ask people for feedback on how you can get better in certain areas. Listen to this podcast and take some notes down.

If you're looking to level up your life, you'll really enjoy this podcast. As always, if you enjoy the podcast, please leave a review, like, comment, share with family and friends who may also enjoy the content and give me some feedback on how I can improve. As always, Enjoy.

The Beautiful Startup World with Wendy Slattery

The Beautiful Startup World with Wendy Slattery

Hello everyone and welcome to episode 8 of the Movement More podcast. Today we have the Award-winning Entrepreneur and 2019 AIB ‘Women in Enterprise Award’ winner Wendy Slattery. Wendy is the Co-Founder & CEO at The Beauty Buddy, a start up focused on revolutionizing the beauty industry, giving people more power and information to make product purchases.  BeautyBuddy is a data analytics company that bridges the gap between brands and consumers in an €800bn industry. Wendy is an overall fantastic leader and I see her as a close mentor of mine where she often springs words of wisdom.  Just the other day she was nominated for HPSU Founder of the year and made huge PR moves in some national newspapers.

We had a great chat about what it's like to be a start up founder, what are some of the accelerators you can get involved in in the startup world and overall how to work more productively. Wendy says she uses a clever technique called the power of 9 to prioritize her work. She also says it is vital to surround yourself with the right people and to only take advice from people if they have successfully done the things you're looking to do too at least three times successfully before. I learned the importance of "eating the frog" in the morning which is all about tackling the thing you want to do the absolute least 1st thing in your day to get it out of the way. Wendy finished by saying the only thing you'll regret is not trying. I hope you enjoy the episode.

Being a Pro with Max Evans

Being a Pro with Max Evans

Episode 7: I have to say I'm buzzing for this episode! For those of you who know me I'm a rugby fanatic and thrilled to have Max Evans telling me about his experiences as an ex. International Rugby player for Scotland. I got goosebumps throughout the podcast especially when he talks about hearing The Flower of Scotland live in Murrayfield, or when we chat about his talented brother Thom Evans who had a life threatening injury playing against Wales in 2009. We talk about how that sculpted Max and his family's appreciation for life.

This episode isn't all rugby focused and even some of the things we do talk about rugby have an underlying principle on how to get more from life. We talk about becoming more aware of the bigger picture of why we are here and taking a step back from our daily stresses that don't really mean that much!

Max also talks about his new business Venture called PadelXO (a business focused around one of our newest favourite sports). Anyone want to bring padel to their their local tennis academy and wanting someone to build them? talk with max@padelxo.com

Guys I really hope you enjoy the episode as much as I do.
