About this Episode
No man knows his moral strength until he comes face to face with a trial. The chain that holds the vessel to the dock is only as strong as the weakest link, and if that weakest link gives way the vessel is loosed from the moorings as surely as if every link had broken. Our human character is only as strong as its weakest point, and if a severe strain is brought to bear upon us, we will break down if our character is not strong. In times of adversity, every virtue and excellence that we possess will be subject to a severe test, and if only one of them is found unequal to the trial, the whole character suffers, and we are in danger of losing our hold on God, and then we will drift from the right course. Throughout scripture, we are warned that adverse and unfavorable conditions, calamity, and misfortune will come. Therefore, it is of utmost importance that we prepare ourselves in advance before these adversities come.
