The location of impact is also a significant factor, as the Chicxulub impact's outcome may have differed if it had occurred in water instead of land.

Smaller objects from space pass by Earth regularly, but the combination of size and proximity of this asteroid was a rare occurrence. It serves as a reminder of the potential dangers lurking in space and the importance of monitoring near-Earth objects.
