One small belief about yourself can have a ripple effect on your entire life. It is your belief system that sets off a chain of events which determines how and what you think, feel and behave. And at the end of this chain you are left with your results - good or bad.

What is meant here by beliefs? Beliefs are things you have chosen to accept as the absolute truth in your life. Some of these beliefs you have taken on consciously (such as spiritual beliefs like "I believe or do not believe in God"), while others have made their way into your life unconsciously (such as things you grew up hearing about yourself and adopted as your own belief, like "I am (not) artistic, athletic, beautiful, loveable….").

Some of these beliefs are good for you, while others get in the way of you reaching your full potential.  All these beliefs - good or bad - eventually lead to the results you get in your life.

The magic of it is that each of us can also choose new beliefs and throw out the ones that do us harm - beliefs that help us reach our goals, fulfill our potential and create the changes we want to have in our lives. This podcast shows you the repercussions (good or bad) of your belief system and provides insight into how to choose beliefs that are supportive and beneficial to your personal growth.

After the crisis is before the crisis

After the crisis is before the crisis

Unexpected change that seems to come out of the blue is an integral part of life. Small crises as well as bigger ones appear out of nowhere, and we're faced with a choice: wait it out until the storm is over or take action. The problem is that waiting it out isn't always the best strategy, because even when one sudden change is finally over the next one is usually on the way. A lot of people spend their whole life "waiting it out".

In this podcast I share two things which are critical to successfully maneuvering through any change. These two techniques foster a growth mindset and help you thrive even when faced with daunting challenges and times of uncertainty. After all, after the crisis is before the crisis.

You are the average of five

You are the average of five

“You are the average of the five people you choose to associate with the most.”

One of the key factors in boosting overall happiness is fostering strong, healthy relationships. I’m talking about the network of people in your life. By network I don’t mean the number of virtual cyber friends – the vast majority you have never met before. This is not an inventory of the people you know. I’m talking about people who are good for you. They believe in you. They have your back. They challenge you because they want the best for you. People you can learn something from.

You can’t surround yourself with negative people and expect to have a positive life. Be intentional about how and with whom you spend your time.

Why is this so important? A large part of setting yourself up for success is exposing yourself to people whom you deem to be successful. So, if you aren’t intentional about the people you spend your time with, you won’t be able to gain the continuous personal improvement that you’re looking for.

This podcast share the five types of people psychologists recommend you have in your life. These five types are critical to your personal and professional growth and development and ultimately to you reaching your goals = success in your life.

    How can I...

    How can I...

    How can I …

… boost the creativity and innovative thinking in my team?

… increase the number of engaged employees in my organization?

… decrease the number of disengaged employees?

… decrease the number of sick days in my team?

… lower the fluctuation in my team?

These are a handful of the questions I have received in the last few months as a coach and consultant. In this podcast I will share the foundation or the underlying issue to all of these questions and provide you with 5 very specific things you can do to start tackling these types of issues and get the results you want to have in your life - be it personal or professional.

Most prevelant disease sweeping the workplace

Most prevelant disease sweeping the workplace

Psychologists say that the most prevalent disease sweeping across the workplace start with an M: Multi-tasking. A study released by McKinsey showed that jobs that were done by multi-tasking had twice the number of mistakes than those tasks done by single-tasking, and these tasks took on average 30% longer than single-tasking approaches.

Further studies show that the people who regularly do things by multi-tasking are impacted health-wise: high blood pressure, headaches, backaches, stomach aches and increases tension and stress. And when we are stressed we literally cannot think clearly. Stress reduces our ability to make clear decisions, because we have adrenaline and cortisol streaming through our body. And when this is the case, our field of vision drops to about 15% – 20%. This impacts not only what we see, but how well we can think and look at options and in the end, make decisions. When we are relaxed and focused on single tasks, our field of vision – how much we can see and how much we can think (creatively) – goes up to 75%.

    15% or 75%? I’ll take 75% any day. Single-tasking is the antidote to multi-taking.

This podcast will provide you with five tips on how to start single-tasking and feel happier, healthier, more creative and focused.

Words have immense power, and in this podcast I'll talk about two little words that are commonly used in the English language and how these two words automatically make you a victim of the circumstance or a victim of someone else. These two words empower others to have power over you and put others in the drivers seat of YOUR life. I'll show an alternative to these two words - an alternative that empowers you and puts you back in the driver seat of your life.

How can you best deal with a person in your team who is a permanent grump? Someone who constantly complains and whines about things. A pessimist with such negative energy that he or she pulls the rest of the team down at the drop of a hat. A person who sucks the energy out of a room as soon as he or she enters it.

This podcast examines this problem based on the four core needs we have on the job. When these core needs are met, people are “fulfilled”, which kindles motivation and boosts overall engagement.

In this podcast I shed light on these four core needs and provide ideas on how to tackle this issue from two different perspectives.

First, from a leadership point of view, what core needs of my team are being met or not met? What support can I provide? How do I sit down and discuss this with someone?

Secondly, from a personal perspective, if one or more of your needs are not being met, it means stepping up to bat and taking responsibility for your life and finding solutions that work for you = taking ownership for your life and for your own happiness.
