Owen Marcus is a men’s coach and the Co-founder of Evryman, a company focused on men’s emotional wellness with the purpose of destigmatizing men’s vulnerability and empowering individuals to build deeper connections.

He teaches us how some of our biggest “problems” are unhealthy coping mechanisms that we have unknowingly adopted. He talks about the role of physical/somatic experience in shaping emotional experience, how suppressing our emotions creates PTSD pathways in our brains, and the power of "changing your mind” over “learning new techniques.”

Lastly, we talk about how connection is the essence of being human, what it takes to achieve deeper connections, the benefits of emotionally risk-taking, and actionable advice for how people, men in particular, can cultivate better emotional intelligence.

e8: HOW DO I BE HAPPY, MY EMOTIONAL HOME featuring Clee Stacy | Life Coach

Clee Stacy is one of my favorite humans I know. As a life coach in the UK and a student of life, she has undergone a massive transformation. The need for drama was a fix in the past that led to depression and suicidal thoughts. While many life coaches choose to edit themselves to fit the mold, Clee is too busy delivering nonstop, authentic vulnerability to worry about how it should be. She chooses to live in the now while helping female freelancers stop procrastinating.

We talked about trauma, suicide and depression, personal development, self-love, connection over convenience, naked meditation, outgrowing relationships, life timeline, law of attraction and mindset.

She glows like the orange she loves to wear. Breaking free of an emotional home of sadness, she has become unnumbed. “I love myself very deeply,” she stated during our conversation. If her ukulele is an extension of her, the world is in for a treat of life songs she will sing to us in the years to come.

    Enjoy,

TECHNOLOGY CAN’T FIX RELATIONSHIPS. THERAPY CAN.

Matt Chirdon and I have known each other since 1983. Thirty-seven years and going strong. By the time we were in Kindergarten, we were already long-time friends and the relationship has continued from there.

We talked about the forbidden world of online dating, and the guide from A to STD inside a 3 billion dollar a year industry, therapy inside a marriage and the struggles leading up to, balancing checks and balancing life within a marriage with discrepancies between partners, expectations from a simple hello, rotary phone syndrome, and the journey in finding connection and the true meaning of intimacy.

Today, we’ve become more conditioned to swiping our phone than waving our hand and saying hello in person. It’s time to stop running from ourselves. It’s time to swipe on ourself. The Real Connection.
