Cannabis State Laws and Chimpanzees

In this short, but sweet episode we tackle multiple topics in Cannabis Corner, including the latest cannabis legalization news in the US, some international news, and then dive into the plant itself and how its classified scientifically.  Then, get high on some deep history! We explore the oldest classified unit of time to current day, and where our evolutionary history falls into the timeline.    

In the fourth episode I discuss topics related to truth, CBD, and our favorite potential ancestor, Sahelanthropus tchadensis! In this episode, I continue our THC talk and focus on the psychoactive effects of the cannabis plant.  Listen to advice from a seasoned stoner about the best setting to try consuming THC for the first time, and what exactly it feels like to be under the influence of this magical flower!  Then, get high on history as I finish up the story about the discovery  of Sahelanthropus tchadensis, an ancient hominid species from over 6 million years ago.  This time, we learn there is more than just one fossil as evidence, and it could change the way we classify the species.  So why has it been hidden away from the public eye?  Listen and find out!

During this episode, I discuss tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), a well loved component of the cannabis plant.  The dispensary shout out mentioned is a small, but lovely, dispensary in the state of Washington! Then, I dive into the discovery of what is considered one of the oldest hominid species so far.  Although, I've come to realize its modern history of archaeological discovery is perhaps as mysterious as the species itself.. so lets get High on History!

The first episode of the High on History podcast! The host, Autumn, introduces the concept of a combined history and cannabis podcast. First, come learn some basics, including the (mostly ) current state and lack of federal legalization laws in the USA.  Then, get high on the history focusing on chimpanzee discovery! We haven't always been so knowledgeable of our closest primate relatives, and the modern history of our relationship with Chimps has more depth than first meets the eye (or ear). Discussion also focuses on new research of chimpanzee behaviors and what theories current researchers have.  The more we learn of their biology and behavior, the more we can learn of our own species and evolutionary history.
