    About this Episode

How I would create a course as a service based business owner. Part three.

This is the series we’ve focused on the past few weeks.

When things are new or uncomfortable or just not the way we’ve done it before it’s easy to just revert back to what we know and convince ourselves it’s fine. When in reality we aren’t hitting huge profit goals and slowly being burnt out in the process of trading time for money.

I have seen so many businesses in the past few months close their doors due to burnout. And it just breaks my heart, because it doesn’t have to be that way. But sometimes to avoid burnout we have to pivot or try new things which is downright intimidating at times.

In today’s episode we answer the questions:

    • What could a course look like for a photographer?
    • What could a good price be?
    • How many would I need to sell per month to make it worth it?
    • How quickly can I create a course?

Goal Setting Hack: Sales vs. Profit

Goal Setting Hack: Sales vs. Profit

Setting sales goals is easy. Pick a number and that’s the goal, but is it really leading to the end result that is desired? Because for example $7k in sales in not $7k to pay yourself. There are expenses that need to be paid too and that lowers the amount available to go in your pocket…

So what happens when a sales goal is set that doesn’t lead to the profit needed? Burnout.

    This week we talk about:

    • Why does profit margin matter so much in a profit strategy?
    • How do you know if your profit margin should be higher or may not be optimized?
    • How would you raise profit margin?
    • Can profit margin be raised without raising prices? Spoiler alert: it can!

When Should We Use the “Like,Know,Trust” Factor?

When Should We Use the “Like,Know,Trust” Factor?

Let’s table the whole discussion on building the whole like, know, trust factor. Let’s push that aside and for a moment pretend that doesn’t exist. Because in reality does it actually exist?

And that is where this pep talk comes in. When it comes to running an online business we seem to be so focused on building that like, know, trust factor - and it’s not that that’s not important it definitely is - it’s just to sit there and have someone come on our list and then expect them to take 6-9 months before buying so we don’t have the confidence to tell them about our offers. Why do we need to have that narrative running our marketing? I don’t think that’s helping us. Or serving our clients or potential clients.

Don’t get me wrong - yes build the like, know, trust factor. It’s not like we’re throwing that out the window. Help them get to know you. Bring value to their lives. But don’t assume they aren’t ready to buy from you.

How Can A Profit GPS Help You Reach Your Goals? Part One

How Can A Profit GPS Help You Reach Your Goals? Part One

There are 4 parts to the profit GPS. We will go through 2 this week and 2 next week.

The first two we will go through is the you are here point and the destination goal. Just like when you are plugging stuff into a gps system so it can help you reach your end destination. These are the two most vital points you give it. You must know where you’re starting and where you’re going. Otherwise it is not possible for the gps to give you directions to get you where you actually want to go. Because you could literally be starting from anywhere and be going anywhere. There are so many possibilities. And the GPS literally cannot spit anything out unless you give it a "I am here" point and an "I want to go here" point.

The same is true when building your profit GPS for your business. You need to know where you are and where you want to go in order the build the route best suited to get you there.
