Deus Ex Machina. John Brent, with the help of his best friend Michael Jacobs, is a now reluctant superhero, and is Salvation City's only hope. Crime and murder is rampant throughout the city streets, and dangerous, gene-altering drugs are spreading among the weak and desperate. John's first case has him going after a petty thief with a horrifying secret.
