DOM Ep263 - The Disappearance of Marshal Iwaasa - Kamloops Triangle (Pt. 1)

Daniel Reoch walked away from his Aunt's house into the frigid Canadian woods at 1 AM on November 26th, 2019, and has never been seen again. However, due to a strange series of misunderstandings and a case of mistaken identity,  it was weeks before everyone realized he was actually missing. 

In this DOM Classic from episode 136 we cover the tragic sinking of the SS Edmund Fitzgerald, a freighter vessel that foundered in a horrific winter storm and sank into Lake Superior in 1975. It has since reached legendary status, and has been the focus of many documentaries, podcasts (obviously) and even inspired a now classic song by Gordon Lightfoot. 

In November of 2019, a 26 year old Canadian man named Marshal Iwaasa disappeared from the city of Lethbridge, Alberta. A week later, his truck was found, partially stripped and burned- over 700 miles away near the little community of Pemberton. Marshal has not been seen or heard from since. In just a few short years, Mindy's reputation went from being one of the most promising women in country to being known as the genre's biggest train wreck. After an incredibly toxic relationship, substance abuse issues and many run-in's with the law, Mindy took her own life in a small town in Arkansas. Was she the architect of her own destruction, or simply an attractor of chaos? We'll let you decide. 

On April 12th, 2016, a sixteen year old Canadian girl named Mekayla Bali skipped school and spent the day making some rather bizarre movements around Yorkton, Saskatchewan. After hours of walking around town, she disappeared, and has never been seen again. We open the show with another "TWITCH" segment, as well as a shout out to our listeners.

In this episode, we had the privilege to visit once again with our old friend James Dunham.  Among his many endeavors, James is guitarist for the band Hollywood Riot, who recently played a show with Warrant. We talk about that, as well as just about everything else you can think of, as the title suggests.  

In this episode, we bring you two cases. First, we cover the 2013 disappearance and subsequent murder of a woman named Chelsea Bruck. Chelsea vanished from a Halloween party on a rural Michigan farm a few days before Halloween. Her body wasn't found for several months, but when it was finally discovered it contained DNA evidence that soon lead police to her killer, Daniel Clay. In our second case, we cover the unsolved disappearance of a Minnesota woman named Veronica Sofranski. Like Chelsea, Veronica disappeared from a Halloween party. Unlike Chelsea, Veronica was never seen again, dead or alive. The last man she was seen with is the main and only suspect, but police have never had enough solid evidence to charge him. 

Diane Schuler was known to many of her friends and family as "Super Mom"- She was at every school function, volunteered for field trips, made cookies for bake sales and did it all while being the main breadwinner in the family. But on July 26th, 2009, something changed. While traveling back home from a camping trip with her 2 young children and 3 nieces in the car, Diane snapped. She drove  erratically for miles until entering the Taconic Parkway in the wrong direction. She then struck another car head on, killing herself and 7 other people. Toxicology reports soon showed that this "Super Mom" had been drunk and high at the time of her death. (Subject Matter Begins @ 7:17)
