DOM Classic - The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald

In this DOM Classic from episode 136 we cover the tragic sinking of the SS Edmund Fitzgerald, a freighter vessel that foundered in a horrific winter storm and sank into Lake Superior in 1975. It has since reached legendary status, and has been the focus of many documentaries, podcasts (obviously) and even inspired a now classic song by Gordon Lightfoot.

The Sinking of the USS Indianapolis

The Sinking of the USS Indianapolis

Join Kelli as she goes over what happened to the USS Indianapolis, the ship that brought atomic bomb parts to Tinian Island so they could be assembled - and dropped - on Hiroshima. Though the ship completed her mission, making  Oppenheimer's and the Manhattan Project's work come to life in the form of a nuclear bomb, the USS Indianapolis suffered a catastrophic - and fatal - blow when it crossed paths with a Japanese submarine.

This is the story of the ship. Kelli discusses its important cargo, gives context on WWII and why the ship was in the Pacific in the first place, and then details the sinking of the USS Indianapolis - and for those of you with thalassophobia, there was something in the deep that the men needed to worry about...

Man On The Run - Jonah 1 (THE BOOK OF JONAH)

This is the first episode of a 4-part series on Jonah.  This series looks at the life and ministry of Jonah in regards to his reluctant obedience as a prophet of God.  In this first episode (corresponding with Jonah Chapter 1), we see Jonah's flee from God's call.  We see his disobedience causing consequences for Jonah and even the men on the ship (innocent bystanders to what Jonah has done).  We also see God's care and compassion for the lost.  This first episode is the springboard for where the rest of the book will take us.  Encourage you to listen in and please share with someone who you think will be impacted by this message.
