    Podcast Summary

    • Understanding WorthinessRecognizing and addressing personal blocks is crucial for feeling worthy of love, as true worthiness exists within everyone.

Feeling worthy of love and acceptance can be challenging, especially if you’ve never experienced it before. Many people create barriers to receiving love, often based on their self-perception or life circumstances. These 'God blocks' can prevent you from understanding that you are inherently worthy of love right now, just as you are. Recognizing these blocks is the first step to transforming your self-image and embracing your worthiness. It’s important to invite support from God to help you identify and overcome these blocks, allowing you to feel valued beyond societal expectations. By increasing awareness of what hinders your self-acceptance, you can begin to change negative thought patterns and create a healthier self-image. Remember, your worthiness is not contingent upon external factors, but rather, it exists within you, waiting to be acknowledged and embraced.

    • Trust and Self-EsteemBuilding self-esteem involves trusting ourselves and keeping promises we make to ourselves. When we fail to do so, our self-belief diminishes, creating a vicious cycle of unfulfilled promises and lower confidence. To enhance self-esteem, we should focus on making small, achievable commitments and actually following through, which fosters a stronger relationship with ourselves.

Self-esteem is deeply linked to how much we trust ourselves. Many people struggle with keeping promises they make to themselves, which undermines their self-belief. When we repeatedly fail to follow through, we slowly lose trust in our own words and commitments. This lack of reliability leads to a cycle where self-esteem diminishes. To rebuild our self-esteem, we must start by making smaller, achievable promises and actually following through on them. By respecting our own word, we can create a stronger relationship with ourselves that fosters confidence and trust. In essence, self-esteem grows when we honor our commitments to ourselves, no matter how small they may seem. It's crucial to recognize the difference between promises we intend to keep and those that feel overwhelming, so we can break that vicious cycle and cultivate a healthier self-image.

    • Self-Trust DevelopmentBuilding self-trust is key to improving self-esteem. Failing to keep promises to yourself damages your self-worth. By committing to follow through, you can rebuild trust and respect for yourself.

Developing a strong relationship with yourself is crucial for building self-esteem and self-trust. When you make promises to yourself but fail to keep them, it erodes your self-respect over time. These repeated failures create a cycle of negativity, causing you to anticipate failure in future commitments. To truly change, it's essential to focus on trusting yourself again and ensuring that your word becomes non-negotiable. This means acknowledging that earning back your self-trust is a process that takes time and effort. By committing to follow through on your own promises, you can start to rebuild the foundation of trust, improve your self-esteem, and ultimately lead a more fulfilling life where you believe in your ability to achieve goals.

    • Self-Trust TransformationTo rebuild self-esteem, focus on making realistic promises to yourself and develop self-trust. Awareness is key to becoming better at keeping commitments.

When making promises to ourselves, it’s crucial to be realistic and honest. Many people fail to follow through because they set grand goals without fully committing or understanding their own needs. Building self-esteem and trust in oneself is a process that takes time and effort. Instead of seeking quick fixes, focusing on small, achievable commitments can lead to greater self-respect over time. Awareness of how we make promises can help us shift our mindset. Identifying vague or unrealistic promises is a vital first step. By becoming better promise makers and keepers, we can rebuild our self-trust and, ultimately, our self-esteem, leading to lasting transformation in our lives.

    • Promise MakingMaking promises can be difficult, especially when they are too grand or vague. It's important to be specific and realistic to avoid damaging our self-esteem. Reflecting on where we fail to keep our word helps us honor our commitments and rebuild trust within ourselves. This contributes to a healthier self-image and relationship with our worth.

Making promises to ourselves can be tricky, especially when they’re too big or vague. Many women set grand goals, like never eating sugar or exercising daily, but often struggle to follow through. It’s crucial to be specific and realistic in our commitments, as vague promises can harm our self-esteem. Instead of harshly judging ourselves when we fail to keep these promises, we should view it as a skill-building opportunity. We need to understand where we are being negotiable with our word and how that impacts our self-value. To rebuild trust within ourselves, we should honor our commitments and invite a higher understanding into our journey. This process of reflecting on our integrity gaps helps reinforce our sense of self-worth and ensures we honor what we truly stand for. Ultimately, being accountable to ourselves helps improve our overall self-esteem and relationship with God.

    • Integrity MattersIntegrity in our promises leads to a stronger self-esteem and a clearer conscience. Viewing commitments as vows encourages us to honor our word and avoid self-deception. This approach fosters personal growth and aligns our actions with moral principles, ultimately leading to a more fulfilling and abundant life.

Honesty and integrity in our promises, both to ourselves and others, are crucial for personal growth and self-esteem. When we commit to something, treating it like a vow holds us accountable and encourages mindfulness. Failing to fulfill these commitments can lead to self-judgment and feelings of shame, which distract us from loving ourselves and recognizing our worth. The teachings in scripture emphasize the importance of fulfilling our vows and walking in integrity, as this not only honors ourselves but also aligns with a higher moral principle. By valuing our word and integrity, we build trust within ourselves and find security in our character, helping us navigate life with a clearer conscience and a more positive outlook. Choosing honesty enables us to embrace the abundance life has to offer without the burden of self-deceit that hinders our potential.

    • Earning IntegritySelf-esteem comes from regaining trust and respect for yourself, not from external validation. Embrace integrity and reflect on your commitments to align with your true values and enhance your self-worth.

Earning self-esteem is less about seeking validation from others and more about regaining your own trust and respect. When you act with integrity and align your actions with your beliefs, you restore your self-image and open the door to the love and value that God sees in you. Reflect on where you've been out of integrity, where your commitments have faltered, and make a conscious effort to reconnect with your core values. By choosing to honor your commitments and live authentically, you can break free from feelings of shame and recognize your true worth in God's eyes, enhancing not only your self-respect but also allowing you to receive respect and love from others.

    • Growth Through FaithWe can grow in trust and integrity by inviting God into our healing journey through prayer and surrendering our burdens. This allows for transformation and a deeper understanding of our value.

Trusting and respecting ourselves can be a challenge, but we are invited to grow into better versions of ourselves. It’s important to recognize that we do not have to carry the burden of healing alone. By surrendering to God, we can ask for help in identifying where we lack integrity and how to regain our trust. Through prayer, we can seek guidance to understand what integrity means from a divine perspective. Repetition and practice of this prayer can transform us and help us show up better in our lives. This journey not only involves taking personal responsibility but also accepting divine support, making it a shared endeavor. Ultimately, new insights can lead to profound changes in how we view ourselves and live our lives. This framework allows us to exchange our self-doubt for a stronger belief in our worth and value through God's eyes.

PART 2: Do You WANT to Stop Dieting, But You Have No Idea What That Even Looks Like (and the alternative terrifies you!)? Let's Talk About It! (Outweigh)

PART 2: Do You WANT to Stop Dieting, But You Have No Idea What That Even Looks Like (and the alternative terrifies you!)? Let's Talk About It! (Outweigh)

OUTWEIGH: Leanne is back for Part 2 of this series to help you understand how to get off the diet roller coaster for good.

So many women WANT to stop dieting, but they don't know how, or they don't know what that even looks like, because it's all they've ever known.

So this idea of "food freedom" or NOT being on some sort of diet is not only foreign to them, but it's actually pretty scary, because all their brain has known is what it's like to count, measure, restrict, and control.

Or their brain knows what it's like to bounce to the opposite end of the spectrum, and end up in an uncontrollable cycle of mindless eating, emotional eating, stress eating, or binging, and they just end up feeling super out-of-control.

This week Leanne is laying out the 5 step crystal-clear path way to finally STOP dieting without feeling like you're going off the deep end if you're NOT on something.

    HOST: @leanneellington

Getting Out of Your Comfort Zone + Why You Should Never Kiss Your Dog + Gratitude + Mantras & Intentions for 2024 (the Year of Empowerment)

FIRST THING: Amy read something special her sister wrote called That Time We Tore Down the Fence. Loving your neighbors well, getting outside of your comfort zone, and answering dreams, but never forgetting what you have experienced and learned and loved on the way.

SECOND THING: Taft Hansen (a medical laboratory scientist/parasitologist) is a guest for this continued conversation about parasites. He sent Amy an email after hearing her episode with Katie Decker and he wanted to contribute. They talk about why you should never kiss your dog, cooking meat properly, parasites in the brain and more.

3RD THING: Taft's wife Morgan joins in for '4 Things Gratitude' and some good movie, tv and book recommendations come up during it!

4TH THING: Amy's cousin, Amanda Rieger Green is on talking about how 2024 is the year of empowerment. She released a Numerology Guide Book that’s special for this year (an 8 year, BTW) and people are loving it, so Amanda gave us the details & also shared with us some mantras and intentions that are good for us to use this year specifically!

PART 1: Do You WANT to Stop Dieting, But You Have No Idea What That Even Looks Like (and the alternative terrifies you!)? Let's Talk About It! (Outweigh)

OUTWEIGH: So many women WANT to stop dieting, but they don't know how, or they don't know what that even looks like, because it's all they've ever known.

But again, NOT being ON something scares them, because when they are not ON, they are totally OFF, and as you can imagine, it's one massive vicious cycle and downward spiral.

And because this topic truly is multi-faceted, Leanne broke it up into 2 parts. Part 1 is about the mindset and heartset and brainset shifts that need to happen to make the strategy-side-of-things Leanne will share in Part 2 even possible.

So enjoy this episode, and make sure to come back next week where Leanne is going to break it down into 5 crystal clear steps of what that actually looks like to heal from the diet mentality for good.

Elevate Your Confidence, Style & Power with This Life-Changing Tip

Elevate Your Confidence, Style & Power with This Life-Changing Tip

Amy just discovered color matching & it's blown her mind. Her guest, Hannah Garber (a color analyst) breaks it all down for us. Amy met Hannah after she booked an appointment to find out her "season" (she learned she's a 'cool summer' palette, btw) and when Hannah told Amy her underlying skin tone was one that radiates in NAVY BLUE & NOT BLACK Amy was fascinated! She knew she wanted Hannah on the podcast ASAP. Why are we just now learning about this? In a nutshell, we all have certain colors that give us the power to show up with more confidence and look our best. Everything from the way we color our hair, to our makeup choices, the clothing we wear, nail color, jewelry etc..

Amy & Hannah talk about the colors/seasons (winter, summer, spring & autumn), confidence, capsule wardrobes (imagine if getting dressed was easy!!), the science behind it all, how Hollywood uses color matching for character building (shout out Anne Hathoway in Devil Wears Prada) & so much more (like memories of our moms with their signature lip colors & how switching your mascara color from black to brown is a game-changer or vice versa...it all depends on the "season" that you are!)

DM Hannah on IG. She'd love to hear from you: @houseofcolournashville_hannah

How Gwyneth Paltrow Releases Anger & Do You Rank Your Friends? (5th Thing)

How Gwyneth Paltrow Releases Anger & Do You Rank Your Friends? (5th Thing)

Today’s quote is from Ally Fallon: “You rarely know the whole story already – when things don’t make sense it’s usually because there’s missing data, untapped information. Maybe someone is keeping something from you, maybe you’re keeping something from yourself. Maybe certain things are none of your business - and maybe you need to wait a little longer to collect more puzzle pieces.”

What are the facts in the story you’ve built in your head? Practice patience – the other pieces of the puzzle are coming.

Amy & Kat “popcorn” through different topics:

    • How Kat’s feeling leading up to her wedding!
    • What’s the right way to order your bridesmaids/groomsmen?
    • Survey: 1/3 of Americans feel lonely at least once per week
    • Filling your cup with connection & community
    • Horrible hygiene habits that are way too common
    • Gwyneth Paltrow uses a baseball bat to release anger
    • Emotional intelligence quiz
    • Gaslighting and the Keanu Reeves mindset (2+2=5)

Will Amy make 2024 the year of no shoes in her house? Only time will tell :)

Wishing Kat a happy wedding week!!! Check out her episode about The Loneliness Epidemic on You Need Therapy.
