Ep. 1170 - From Bud Light To Target, We Are Making 'Pride' Toxic For Brands

    enMay 25, 2023

    Podcast Summary

    • Corporations Pushing Agendas Sparks BacklashConsumers can align spending with values and support businesses that prioritize values over politics, making a difference.

Corporations are increasingly pushing political and cultural agendas, leading to backlash from consumers. This was highlighted by the massive losses suffered by Target due to their satanic pride campaign, which sparked a conservative boycott. The media's coverage of the situation, which fails to provide context, only adds to the disorientation. Meanwhile, companies like Public Square offer a solution by connecting consumers to businesses that share their values. This not only allows consumers to align their spending with their beliefs but also provides an incentive through discounts. As the line between corporate and political agendas continues to blur, it becomes increasingly important for consumers to take a step back and consider the larger context. By joining forces and supporting businesses that prioritize values over politics, consumers can make a difference.

    • Corporate Support for LGBTQ+ Community in AdvertisingCompanies like Target and The North Face have started promoting LGBTQ+ inclusivity in advertising, reflecting changing cultural norms and increasing acceptance of the community. However, critics argue that some advertising can veer into inappropriate or sexualized territory, particularly when targeted at children.

There have been claims about Target and other corporations pushing "pride propaganda" for over a decade, but the evidence suggests that this is not the case for many companies, including Target. The partnership between Target and designers creating pride merchandise is relatively new, and the idea of companies promoting pride and LGBTQ+ inclusivity in advertising is a more recent development. For example, The North Face's advertising used to focus on outdoor activities and rugged imagery, but in recent years, it has shifted to include more inclusive and diverse messaging. This change in advertising strategy is a response to changing cultural norms and increasing acceptance of the LGBTQ+ community. However, it's important to note that some critics argue that this focus on inclusivity and diversity can sometimes veer into inappropriate or sexualized territory, particularly when it comes to advertising targeted at children. Overall, the debate around corporate support for the LGBTQ+ community and the role of inclusivity in advertising is a complex issue that requires nuanced discussion and consideration.

    • ESG scores and social engineeringCorporations aim for high ESG scores, including diversity and inclusion goals, to attract investors, but the push is not organic and driven by investors like George Soros. Pride Month initiatives are a part of this, but the right is pushing back and making pride toxic for brands, increasing the cost for corporations.

Corporations are increasingly focusing on Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) scores to attract investors, with diversity and inclusion goals being a significant factor. The Human Rights Campaign (HRC) plays a major role in this, as they maintain the Corporate Equality Index and corporations aim for high scores from them. However, the push for ESG scores and social engineering is not organic but driven by investors like George Soros. Pride Month, originally a single day commemorating the Stonewall riots, has been expanded and rewritten, with corporations jumping on the bandwagon to appease the left and improve their ESG scores. However, the right is now pushing back, and corporations are facing backlash for their pride-themed initiatives. The ultimate goal for those advocating for decency and sanity is to make pride toxic for brands, making the cost outweigh the potential gains. This involves problematizing the corporations' efforts and holding them accountable for their actions.

    • The political battle over corporate Pride involvementCriticizing brands for their Pride initiatives can shift cultural norms and lead to financial losses for companies, demonstrating the power of consumer choice and public opinion.

The ongoing debate surrounding the Pride movement and corporate involvement can be seen as a political battle, with both sides employing radical tactics to shift the cultural narrative. The speaker, Matt Walsh, discussed his experience trending on Twitter after criticizing brands for their Pride initiatives, which sparked accusations of harassment and bullying. Walsh acknowledged that his approach aligns with Saul Alinsky's rules for radicals, but emphasized that the goal is to change the Overton window and make wokeness less appealing to corporations. The success of this strategy is evident in the significant financial losses suffered by companies like Bud Light and Target. While some may argue that this approach can't bring down every woke company, the speaker encourages focusing on strategic targets and applying pressure until they change their stance. The power of consumer choice and public opinion can lead to substantial cultural shifts, and the ongoing Pride debate is a prime example of this dynamic.

    • Ron DeSantis' Twitter Spaces event drew massive interest despite technical difficultiesThe real significance of campaign launch announcements is minimal, and what happens before primaries matters most. Support American farmers by buying high-quality meat from Good Ranchers using code Walsh during Memorial Day sale.

Despite the technical difficulties experienced during Ron DeSantis' presidential campaign announcement on Twitter Spaces, which caused the servers to crash and drew criticism from his opponents, the actual content of the event may not have a significant impact on the primary race. The real significance lies in the fact that DeSantis and Trump are the only two Republicans in the race who can generate such massive interest and attract over 700,000 people to their events. This demonstrates their unique appeal and influence within the party. Meanwhile, the average person's memory span is short, and most will forget campaign launch announcements, including what was said, by the time the primaries begin. Therefore, what matters most is what happens directly before the voting starts. So, fire up the grill for Memorial Day and enjoy high-quality American meat from Good Ranchers while supporting American farmers. Use code Walsh for a 20% discount during the Memorial Day sale.

    • The Republican Party's Future: Unity or Fracturing? The primary race between Trump and DeSantis could either strengthen or weaken the conservative movement. It's crucial to prioritize issues over personal attacks to maintain unity and effectiveness.

The primary race between Donald Trump and Ron DeSantis could lead to a more conservative and united Republican Party, or it could result in a fracturing of the movement if some Trump supporters abandon their principles in an attempt to support Trump despite his actions or policies. The speaker expressed concern that the latter outcome could be catastrophic for the conservative cause. An example given was of Trump supporters picketing outside of DeSantis' campaign event, using derogatory language and personal attacks instead of focusing on the issues. The speaker emphasized the importance of staying united on the issues, even if individuals have different political preferences.

    • Trump's appeal and authentic connectionFormer President Trump's ability to connect with people is a significant part of his appeal, but defending him for his own sake weakens this power. Media and education influence societal values, including searches related to sexual orientation and gender identity.

Former President Trump's ability to connect with people and make them feel seen and heard is a significant part of his appeal. However, when the focus shifts to defending him for his own sake, it loses its power. Another topic discussed was the increase in searches related to sexual orientation and gender identity, particularly among younger generations, which some attribute to deliberate indoctrination in schools and media, as well as the easy access to information on the internet. The conversation also touched upon the accusations of racism towards certain politicians, which were dismissed as leftist attacks. Overall, the conversation highlighted the importance of authentic connection and the potential influence of media and education on societal values.

    • The internet and societal norms have led to an increase in young people identifying as LGBTQ+Societal norms and the internet have given young people a framework to understand their feelings during adolescence, leading to a significant increase in those identifying as LGBTQ+

The internet and the widespread acceptance of gender ideology have given young people a framework to understand their feelings during adolescence, leading many to identify as transgender or part of the LGBTQ+ community. This framework did not exist 20 years ago, and the confusion and discomfort that come naturally with adolescence and puberty may have manifested differently without it. The speaker argues that this identification is not based on a true understanding of one's identity but rather a desperate need for answers and clarity. The video of Dennis Prager on Bill Maher in 2019 illustrates how quickly societal norms and beliefs have shifted, and how those who question the validity of certain gender-related claims may be labeled as transphobic. The speaker emphasizes that this trend is not rooted in fact or reality but rather in the need for young people to make sense of their feelings and experiences. The result is a significant increase in the number of people identifying as LGBTQ+.

    • People's perspectives on social issues can change rapidlyBeing dismissive of social issues doesn't make one immune to their consequences. Awareness and consideration are key.

People's perspectives on social issues can change rapidly, and their past dismissiveness of certain viewpoints does not make them immune to the consequences of those issues. The example given is the evolution of attitudes towards gender ideology, where people who once laughed at the concept are now intolerant of opposing views. This shift in attitude demonstrates the importance of being aware of social issues and their potential implications, rather than dismissing them as absurd or unimportant. Additionally, the lack of acknowledgement and apology from those who were previously dismissive of warnings about these issues is a problem. People's obliviousness, vanity, and arrogance can prevent them from recognizing the potential harm of their past actions and attitudes. It is crucial to listen to warnings about social issues and consider their implications, rather than dismissing them as unimportant or pretending they were always on board.

    • Challenging limiting beliefs about black AmericansRecognizing and challenging limiting beliefs about black Americans is crucial for promoting true equality and individual freedom.

There are individuals, like Joy Behar, who hold limiting beliefs about what it means to be black in America, reducing it to a state of helplessness. They dismiss the idea that individuals can take control of their lives and futures, deeming them as no longer "real" black. Meanwhile, the notion of pulling oneself up by the bootstraps is seen as a threat, as it challenges the notion of black Americans as helpless and infantilized. This mindset is not only absurd but also dangerous, as it can be used to justify stripping individuals of their rights and even their lives under the guise of mental health. It's crucial to recognize and challenge these limiting beliefs to promote true equality and individual freedom. Additionally, organizations like PragerU play a vital role in promoting pro-American education and changing minds, especially during these challenging times.

    • The normalization of mental disorders and euthanasia can lead to justifying the taking away of rights and lives.Accepting euthanasia normalizes suicide and can make it more accessible to those who aren't truly suicidal, potentially justifying the taking away of rights and lives.

The normalization and expansion of mental disorders, coupled with the appeal and trendiness of being diagnosed, can lead to the justification for taking away rights and lives. If we accept the idea of euthanasia, it is essentially supporting suicide, and individuals should not be encouraged to hide behind the euphemism of euthanasia when they have access to suicide at any time. Euthanasia is a way of making suicide more accessible to those who might not be truly suicidal, and it allows society to lie to itself about the reality of death. It's important to acknowledge the paradox of our death-fearing, death-worshiping culture and resist the temptation to sanitize and hide from the reality of suicide.

    • Blurred lines between euthanasia and suicideThe distinction between euthanasia and suicide is being blurred, raising concerns about potential harm and abuse, especially for vulnerable populations.

The distinction between euthanasia and suicide is being blurred, making it more acceptable and appealing to some individuals who might not otherwise consider taking their own lives. This can be seen in the contrasting reactions to someone expressing intentions of suicide versus expressing plans for medical assistance in dying. However, it's important to remember that suicide and euthanasia are essentially the same thing, and there are valid concerns about the potential for abuse and harm, especially when it comes to vulnerable populations like children. In the case of Louisiana State Senator Fred Mills, his actions to block a bill banning transgender surgeries on minors can be seen as enabling a form of child abuse, and he should be held accountable for his role in this issue. The line between what is acceptable and what is not can be a fine one, and it's crucial to consider the potential consequences and ethical implications of our actions and policies.

    • Louisiana Bill to Ban Transgender Surgeries for Minors Opposed by State Representative Fred MillsState Rep. Fred Mills opposed a Louisiana bill to ban transgender surgeries and hormone treatments for minors, arguing for medical community's right to perform these procedures despite potential health risks and ethical concerns. He also received financial support from the pharmaceutical industry.

The Louisiana legislature considered a bill to ban certain transgender surgeries and hormone treatments for minors, but it was opposed by Fred Mills, a pharmacist and state representative. The surgeries in question, such as phalloplasty and vaginoplasty, involve extreme procedures that can leave patients with serious health risks and side effects. Critics argue that these procedures are not only dangerous but also highly experimental and not covered by insurance. Mills, however, defended the medical community's right to perform these procedures, despite their controversial nature. He also received significant financial support from the pharmaceutical industry, which profits greatly from the gender transition racket. The debate highlights the complex ethical and moral issues surrounding transgender health care, as well as the potential conflicts of interest that can arise when politicians have financial ties to the industries they regulate.

    • Holding public officials accountable, even when they're out of officePersistence pays off in holding public officials accountable for their actions, even if they're term-limited or out of office. Ethical responsibility and acting in the best interests of constituents is crucial.

Persistence pays off when trying to contact public officials, even if their political career is coming to an end. Fred Mills may be term-limited and soon out of office, but his actions have tarnished his reputation and good name. By continuing to try to contact him and making sure his name is publicly associated with his questionable decisions, we can hold him accountable for selling out to big pharma at the expense of children. This is an example of "canceling" someone, which can have long-lasting consequences. It's important to remember that public figures have a responsibility to act ethically and in the best interests of their constituents, and when they fail to do so, they must face the consequences. If you want to make a difference, keep trying to contact your representatives and hold them accountable for their actions.

Ep. 1396 - A System Run By Illiterate Imbeciles

Today on the Matt Walsh Show, a judge in Atlanta was just arrested and removed from the bench after getting into a fight at a nightclub and assaulting a police officer. Again: this woman works as a judge, not a waitress at Waffle House. But, she is just a symptom of a much larger problem. We'll discuss. Also, I'll offer my preview of tonight's presidential debate. Climate protesters attempt a very unique and hilarious method of stopping traffic. And, a guy on Twitter is roundly mocked and ridiculed after offering some unorthodox life advice to young men. As usual, the peanut gallery is wrong.

Ep. 1395 - A Flock Of Drag Queens Descend On Capitol Hill

Today on the Matt Walsh Show, yesterday was "Drag Lobby Day" on Capitol Hill as several drag queens descended on our nation's capital to lobby for a host of awful legislation. The whole event was a flop, though, which may tell us something. Also, the Biden Administration promotes another cross-dressing man. The city of Los Angeles cracks down on people who are committing the crime of trying to make their communities safe and livable. And, the first annual "FatCon," a convention for fat people, just happened. I'll have the highlights, in case you were under the weight limit and couldn't attend.

Today on the Matt Walsh Show, the Supreme Court will officially hear a challenge to Tennessee's ban on "gender affirming care" for minors. This will be a huge case that could deliver a devastating blow to the trans agenda. Also, CNN kicks a Trump spokesperson off the air for questioning CNN's objectivity ahead of the presidential debate on Thursday. Taylor Swift makes a brave stand against the patriarchy at her most recent concert. And, British academics are researching milk to discover its ties to racism and colonialism.

Ep. 1393 - Christian Conservatives Proven Right Once Again As Abstinence 'Trend' Gains Popularity

Today on the Matt Walsh Show, the media has discovered a hot new trend. It's called abstinence. For years the Left mocked Christian conservatives for promoting abstinence. Now, they're coming around, but for all the wrong reasons. Also, Jamaal Bowman and AOC team up for the cringiest campaign rally of all time. Donald Trump made two campaign promises over the weekend: one very good and one very bad. And, the wife of an NFL quarterback says that she convinced her now-husband to date her by hooking up with his backup. Why would any wife share a story like that?

    Ep. 1392 - Disney’s Not So Secret Anti-White Agenda

Today on the Matt Walsh Show, we've heard about Disney's not-so-secret gay agenda. Now, thanks to James O'Keefe, we know more about their not-so-secret anti-white agenda. Also, MSNBC talking heads do their best to explain why classrooms should have pride flags but shouldn't have the Ten Commandments. Their argument is more revealing than they wanted it to be. And, can racism cause cancer? That was the premise of an episode of an NBC medical drama. It was not satire. Not intentionally, anyway.

Ep. 1391 - Anti-Human Eco Brats Deface One Of The Oldest Monuments On Earth

Today on the Matt Walsh Show, the anti-human climate alarmist brats are at it again. This time, they defaced one of the oldest and most historically significant monuments on the planet. These people don't love the planet. They just hate humanity. Also, Louisiana is mandating a copy of the Ten Commandments for every classroom in the state. The usual suspects are claiming that this is an attack on the First Amendment. I'll explain why that's ridiculous. And, the "bio-hacking" movement continues to grow. These are people who think that dying is a choice, rather than an inevitable fact of human existence.

Ep. 1390 - Major Polling Firm Changes Its Own Results After Left-Wing Activists Complain

Today on the Matt Walsh Show, the term "Orwellian" is overused these days–but, no other word can describe what just happened with a Pew survey finding that a vast majority of black Americans believe in racial conspiracy theories. The findings were so upsetting to activists that Pew went back and changed the report. This is a crazy story that few are talking about. We'll discuss. Also, Donald Trump reportedly floated the idea of abolishing the income tax. That's a great idea that should garner a lot more enthusiasm than it does. And, a democratic congresswoman claims that she miraculously cured cancer. Where are the fact-checkers on this one?

Beth Menz: An Evolution of Personal Identity and Politics Collide to Reveal Her Purpose and Passion

Dr. Katie Vincer Sears is the mother of three children under the age of 5, the owner of 3 thriving dental practices and a dental assistance school, a philanthropist, consultant and world traveler. One wonders how she has time for all of it, but she makes it seem easy.

No stranger to hard work, Katie chose a non-traditional route for her career, choosing to focus on providing dental care to individuals primarily on Medicaid or with no insurance. This type of care has huge stigmas attached to it, but Dr. Vincer faced them head on, and has proven them all to be false. It's, therefore, no surprise that this desire to positively impact her world lead her and her family to Africa, where she provided dental services for the Maasai tribe of Kenya.

Katie downplays her accomplishments and efforts, crediting a strong work ethic and a family that taught her to value service to others. Those around her know it's more than that. Dr. Vincer Sears has been highly recognized locally and nationally for the work she has done. Among her awards, she was recently named to the inaugural class of the American Dental Association's 10 Under 10 - an award recognizing the nation's best dentists who have practiced for 10 years or less.

We're thrilled to share her story on 200 Proof Life.

    Enjoy!
