    About this Episode

Before you listen to this episode you should ask yourself one question- are you ready to rock harder than you've ever rocked before? If so, then hit play and prepare to have your mind blown as a fusion of flute and shag carpeting is blasted through your senses

This episode of Wonder Woman takes place in the 1970s and it sure as hell shows as top rocker Hamlin Rule is playing sold out concerts to 20 or 30 people all across the nation. But something is amiss. Every time he has a concert the venue gets knocked off by a mysterious band of theives who leave no clues behind as to their identity. It's up to Wonder Woman and everyone's favorite superhero Joe Atkinson to get to the bottom of this

Stay tuned until the end of the episode for the debut of Red Dress' new hit song Love Conquers All (Hamlin Rules) inspired by the Pied Piper (but written by Seals and Crofts)!

Ep 137 | Batman Beyond: "Meltdown"
It's a cold day in Gotham as the Boob Tube Boys arrive just in time to see a sexy sultry voiced doctor show up and do some quasi-necromancy to give noted Batman villain Mr. Freeze a new lease on life!

The BTBs show up to watch a show that all three thought was beneath them when it came out in the late 90s. Also there's mention of a Batman villain called Dr. Phosphorus? It turns out he was actually the inspiration for this show's big bad- Blight. A glowy skeleton man whose name is far less interesting than 'Dr. Phosphorus'

Ep 136 | True Detective: "Night Country: Part 2"

The fellas last left their Alaskan character friends at the outset of a grotesque crime scene, but things are about to get even creepier. Brian, Spencer, and Van talk about fun character interactions, the intermingling of ambitious storylines, and hanging out with ghosts. Spencer steers the podcast in a very different direction with his next show choice

The frozen expanse of the podcasting universe holds many secrets, but don't worry, the Boob Tube Boys are here to guide you across the icy ground. It's time to talk True Detective: Night Country, the latest installment in HBO's long-running anthology series!

Jodie Foster and Kali Reis are detectives tasked with solving an impossible and terrifying mystery in Alaska's dark season, and they might even be up against forces bigger than they imagine. Brian picked this one due to his fondness for True Detective's landmark first season, but will Issa Lopez's iteration hold up? Spencer offers his thoughts as a longtime fan, while Van experiences the show's universe for the first time

Ep 134 | Beef: "The Rapture of Being Alive"

Ep 134 | Beef: "The Rapture of Being Alive"
Where's the Beef? Right here you dumb old lady!

That's right the Boob Tube Boys have returned to the spiteful world of Netflix' Beef where Steven Yeun as Danny pees all over the place and Ali Wong as Amy plots her revenge. We're picking back up right where we left off last week and despite being given the opportunity to take the high road Amy has chosen instead... for vengeance

The tubers marvel at some of the background jokes in the show as well as all of the actor's performances. They take a moment to appreciate the truly human stories being told, and of course finish off the episode discussing their favorite meats, which may surprise you

Ep 133 | Beef: "The Birds Don't Sing, They Screech in Pain"

Ep 133 | Beef: "The Birds Don't Sing, They Screech in Pain"
It has been a hot minute since the Boob Tube Boys watched a show that wasn't hot garbage, so no matter what the critically acclaimed 2023 first season of Netflix' Beef should be a change of pace for the fellas

The show isn't about choice cuts and it's not about a family who own and operate a small town meat packing plant but the son doesn't want to follow in the father's footsteps and take over the plant, instead choosing a career in optometry while the matriarch of the family opines for better times and openly despises her husband after he cheated on her with another meat family's daughter whose name is like Sally Rey or Deborah Anne Parsons or whatever. It's not about that at all!

Instead it's about a 'beef' between two motorists who are having a really tough time in life, and believe it or not that's an excellent topic for a television show

Ep 132 | Touched by an Angel: "Pandora's Box"

Ep 132 | Touched by an Angel: "Pandora's Box"
This is going to be a good one, folks. And it doesn’t even have a magician!

You see this time in the cinematic universe of Touched by an Angel your everyday Y2K family seems to be all smiles and love, but deep inside something sinister is brewing. One night, daughter Evan Rachel Wood decides to climb on her state-of-the-art computing device and do some research about Hawaii so that she could finish her school report. But unfortunately for the Radcliffe family she’s not shown the sandy beaches and wonderful people of our 50th state…

This leads to a chain reaction of events where father Charlie (played by Harvey Birdman himself Gary Cole) gets fired from his job for looking at porn, his wife declares the Eiffel Tower is wonderful, and their youngest daughter says something weird about bunnies landing on cabbage when they are born. But perhaps most sinister of all (not perhaps, definitely the most sinister), Evan Rachel Wood is then targeted by a pedophile

I’m not joking when I say that this is one of the best, so you don’t wanna miss this episode!

Ep 131 | Touched by an Angel: "Angel of Death"

Ep 131 | Touched by an Angel: "Angel of Death"
Do you believe in magic? Have you come here merely to hear the Boob Tube Boys DIE?! Well you're in for a treat as the fellas take a dive into the 1990s Christian television show Touched by an Angel, a program in which several benevolent angels kind of screw around and occasionally yell at a man with serious mental problems

That man is noted actual actor and religious weirdo Corbin Bernsen playing a nutso magician named Eric Weiss, or not really, but whatever... you'll see. The magician must try to overcome guilt brought upon by his failure to 'save' his younger brother Petey from a deadly refridgerator attack when they were kids, so Monica, Tess, and new angel Callisto from Xena: Warrior Princess are here to help him along the way

Ep 130 | The Jetsons: "Millionaire Astro"

Ep 130 | The Jetsons: "Millionaire Astro"
The BTBs are relieved to be near the end of their Hanna Barbera run, but they still have plenty more to say about The Jetsons. This week, a lawyer turns up at the Jetson home asserting that Astro (the family dog) has a secret past under a much cooler name

Brian, Spencer, and Van discuss what The Jetsons believes court systems will be like in the 2060s, why Astro is among the least appealing cartoon animals in history, and the dangers of conveyor belts. Later on, the guys talk about the most popular TV of 2023 and Van outlines Spencer's next hosting duties

Ep 129 | The Jetsons: "A Visit from Grandpa"

Ep 129 | The Jetsons: "A Visit from Grandpa"
The holidays are over, which means Boob Tube Hot Potato is back! Spencer tasked Van with covering The Flintstones a few weeks back, and now he's decided Brian's should lead the '60s Hanna Barbera discussion, so it's time for The Jetsons whether anyone likes it or not!

The Jetson family hosts their 110 year-old grandfather/great-grandfather thinking it will be a relaxing visit, but ol' Montague has other plans. Is the ancient scoundrel involved in two romantic entanglements at the same time, or will he be arrested before any of that matters? The BTBs have plenty to say about this particularly wild senior, forgotten Hanna Barbera characters, and a whole lot more!

Ep 128 | Father Knows Best: "The Angel's Sweater"

Ep 128 | Father Knows Best: "The Angel's Sweater"
For their final holiday episode of 2023 the Boob Tube Boys are rocketing way back in time to the 1950s where the wassail is thick and no ones pipes could ever burst. Well maybe that last one isn't accurate, because just that happens at the Anderson household and wouldn't you know it, that old spinster Aunt Neva is in town so she can't even take a warm bath!

The boys discuss how young wrecking ball Kathy really doesn't get along with Aunt Neva since the older woman is a mean old hag (Father Knows Best's words, not ours), and they wonder how any of this familial drama could possibly be resolved. Enter an immigrant! That's right Mr. Fix-It arrives just in time to repair a leaky pipe and possibly tell Kathy a weird parable that just might set things right

So grab a fistful of tinsel and check out this Christmas-tastic episode of the BTBs!
