Ep.40 West Virginia’s Horrible Friends and Mysterious Families

    en-usDecember 15, 2021

    About this Episode

Tonight, Lauren and Nora take a moment to thank all of the new (and returning) listeners. We couldn’t do this show without y’all! Nora starts off by telling us about another eerily familiar case. The case of Skylar Neese. Then Lauren tells us about the case of the mysterious Sodder Children disappearance. Wild West Virginia, you certainly earned your nickname.

As police close in on a possible suspect, they realize that everything is not as it seems. Next up, Kenzie talks about the story of Lt. Charles Joseph "Joe" Gliniewicz of the Fox Lake Police Department. This tragic story has an even more tragic plot twist that you truly won’t see coming. Ep.140 Crimes and Conspiracies in Pennsylvania

We travel back east to the great state of Pennsylvania! First, Lauren shares the tragic story of 11 year old Shauna Howe. Ep.139 Head Scratching and Heart Pounding Stories from Nevada

Ep.139 Head Scratching and Heart Pounding Stories from Nevada

We are headed out west this week to Nevada! First up, Kenzie shares the mysterious cases of Jessica Foster, Jodi Brewer, Lindsay Harris, and Misty Marie Saens. These four women went missing from the Las Vegas area in the early 2000s. Three of the four women’s body parts were found off of major highways and one is still missing to this day. These cases take a bizarre twist when a man is killed during a home invasion and police suspect he may be responsible for killing anywhere from 8 to 10 people. Then, Lauren shares some classic Vegas stories and tells us about different casino heists that were both successful and unsuccessful. One of the stories she shares is about one of the only heists where a suspect got away with all the money and the police still aren’t sure how he did it. Lauren and I have many conspiracy theories we think may have occurred in these two very mysterious Nevada stories!

    Ep.138 Iowa’s Murderers and Mystics

    Ep.138 Iowa’s Murderers and Mystics

We stay in the Midwest this week because we are talking about Iowa! First, Lauren talks about the unsolved murder of Myrtle Cook. A prominent, and strongly disliked, community figure who was shot while sitting in her living room. Detectives had a harder time eliminating suspects from the list rather than adding them. Next, Kenzie shares some stories from Iowa that are more spiritual than spooky. The Vincent House, built in the late 1800s, is said to be haunted by up to 25 different spirits! Including the previous owners. LaVona and LaVelda Rowe of Iowa City weren’t your typically identical twins. These twins claimed to have a very strong ESP connection. One that could possibly be life saving! We hope you enjoy this mystical and murderous episode!

First, Kenzie talks about the case of Bunchee Nyhuis and how forensics helped investigators solve and close a case that was once deemed unsolvable. Afterwards, Lauren tells us about the haunted Lemp Mansion. Purchased by William J. Lemp as a residence and auxiliary brewery office, Lemp used his massive brewery fortune to turn the thirty-three room house into a Victorian showplace. But the house holds dark secrets that still haunt the property to this day. You won’t want to *miss* out on this awesome Missouri episode!

Ep.135 Mystical Mountains and Murderous Movie Stars in California

We head to the west coast this week and explore the spooky side of California! First, Kenzie takes us up north to the Cascade Mountain Range where you can find the mysterious Mt. Shasta. This mountain continually presents oddities, ranging from ancient lost civilizations to UFO sightings, encounters with Bigfoot, strange creatures, and anomalous individuals. Then, Lauren shares the horrid story of Spade Cooley, an American Western swing musician, big band leader, actor, television personality, and….convicted murderer. Be warned, his story is not for the fainted heart. We hope you enjoy this episode on the dark side of sunny California!
