This week we bring you the fourth installment of our retrospective of Night Demon's first major North American tour, playing with the mighty Raven in 2014.  This episode finds the boys grappling with finalizing their contractual commitments for licensing and distribution of their first album, Curse of the Damned,  Simultaneously, they were preparing for their tour kickoff show in Atlanta, which turned out to be a success despite various technical difficulties.  From there, the tour rolled on to a disastrous gig in Memphis, followed by a day off in treacherous New Orleans.  Just days into the tour, the Night Demon boys were realizing that road burn is real.

You will hear about crushing financial pressures, myriad hardships leaving the band focused completely on survival, and the welcome addition of Andrew Bansal to the touring party. Despite the difficulties, the Night Demon guys were thrilled because they were finally in the band they wanted to be in, living the dream with 45 shows in 53 days opening for the legendary Raven.  You will also hear how drummer Dusty was very nearly taken out of commission before the tour even started thanks to a wayward RV near the Grand Canyon.

In the fall of 2014, Night Demon launched their first full-scale US / Canadian tour opening for NWOBHM legends Raven for a grueling 45 shows in 53 days. In this week's episode, we explore the circumstances that coalesced to make this tour happen.  You will hear about the band members' love of and respect for Raven, including the memorable tour stop when Brian played drums with them. We cover the band's spring 2014 tour of Europe that actually laid the groundwork for the Raven tour, with particular emphasis on the Pounding Metal Festival in Spain in May 2014.  Jarvis and Dusty discuss their anticipation and excitement for the Raven tour, and how pivotal it proved to be in the career development of Night Demon.

In October 2013, Night Demon's career took a massive leap forward when they played a three-show regional run with two of their musical heroes, Diamond Head and Raven.  Last week's episode explained how those shows came to be and how they helped catapult the band forward. This week, we take you back down memory lane to the early days of Night Demon, as they bubbled up from the seedy underbelly of the Los Angeles heavy metal underground. You will hear the context of Night Demon's drummer vacancy being filled by Dusty Squires in a session capacity as the band began recording what became the Curse of the Damned album. Jarvis reminisces about the difficulties of playing shows in LA and the sacrifices they made to get their music heard.  Then he describes how Night Demon managed to get on three regional shows of the Diamond Head / Raven tour in October 2013, how much landing those shows meant to the band, and how they served as the springboard to Night Demon believing in themselves that they could carry the torch.
