Episode #53 with James Sutton - Getting Consistent Results & Applying Exercise Mechanics

Episode #53 with James Sutton - Getting Consistent Results & Applying Exercise Mechanics

Today I am excited to be joined by James Sutton, Lead Educator in Exercise Mechanics at The Muscle Mentors, industry leaders in physique coaching and education.

James is a trainer of trainers, a mentor for many PT’s in the industry with an incredible amount of time & experience under his belt.

In fact, James worked alongside Calum Raistrick at M10 in Nottingham, where James actually mentored Calum in Cal’s early years as a coach, which speaks volumes for James knowledge and experience, including his role as lead educator and head of coaching at M10 before joining the Muscle Mentors.

James epitomises the true physique & exercise professional, as one of the very few coaches in the UK who has obtained Mastery level with the Resistance Training Specialist created by Tom Purvis.

I wanted to do something a little different for todays podcast with James. He’s mostly invited onto podcasts to talk about exercise mechanics nowadays, which we’ll definitely touch on, however James has so much experience and insight across the board which I was very keen to tap into during our discussion.

So grab a coffee and enjoy what is sure to be an insightful episode.

Thanks, please comment, like and subscribe!

Episode #48 with Paul Standell - Anxiety & Dieting, Fitness Rants And The Physics Of Exercise

Episode #48 with Paul Standell - Anxiety & Dieting, Fitness Rants And The Physics Of Exercise

Today we are joined by Paul Standell, who I think should be called Paul “Standup Comedy” as he’s equal parts the comedian as he is an incredibly intelligent coach.

Paul runs his own online coaching business, Body By Control, which helps clients ranging from beginner fat loss all the way through to photoshoot and physique competition condition.

I met Paul virtually when I started out studying the Resistance Training Specialist material alongside group coaching via Integra Education ran by Michael Goulden in London. It turns out Paul is working through the material a 2nd time to further his understanding and fill in some more gaps which, as I’ve got familiar with him as an individual over the weeks, it doesn’t surprise me in the slightest.

Paul is starting to build a little bit of a reputation for his way of communicating and teaching the mathematical elements of physics as it applies to exercise mechanics, but he has quite the broad knowledge base and skill set, which opens up for a podcast interview with quite the range of topics.

Episode #47 with Luke Hoffman - A Critical Look At the Traditional Hypertrophy Model

We are joined today by coach, educator and Co-Founder of The Muscle Mentors, Luke Hoffman.

Luke has a wealth of knowledge when it comes to adding serious muscle to his clients physiques.

I asked Luke to share a little on his origins into the fitness industry, delve into some of the potential flaws in the traditional hypertrophy model, and share his thoughts on the concept of utilising an RIR approach vs Training To Failure with Lower Volume.

This was an insightful discussion and if you're at all interested in the topic of hypertrophy, you're going to love this episode.
