    About this Episode

    In today’s show, we chat to Rachel Lambo from Sade Baron, a body-care company her and her mother Sade launched in 2016. Rachel shares her entrepreneurial journey and how she’s always looked for the opportunity in failure, and the importance of finding a mentor and asking for help as you build and scale your business.  Rachel has launched several businesses throughout her entrepreneurial journey and she shares how these experiences shaped her as an entrepreneur.  Rachel and her mother Sade are business partners, and she shares the importance of setting boundaries and treating business partners who are family members as equals who can openly voice their opinion. Rachel introduces us to the third relationship you experience when you go into business with family, and how this strengthens your relationship with family members. 

    Sade Baron has been featured in many publications including the New York Times, Elle, Today’s Parent, Refinery 29, Toronto Life, Medium,  Huffington Post and Goop, and Rachel shares the importance of getting exposure for your brand and her strategy for choosing the best PR agency for your brand. 

    Sade Baron have their products in some incredible stores including The Detox Market and Health Hut and Rachel shares the importance of managing the relationships with your retailers, and how she provides them with as much support as possible. She also shares the importance of finding out their pain points in order for you to help them overcome them. 

    Maintaining your mental health as an entrepreneur is one of the biggest yet least talked about challenges all business owners face, and Rachel shares her advice for entrepreneurs on how to prioritize your mental health as you build your business.

    Rachel shares how she handles rejection and negative comments, the importance of recognizing what feedback is insightful vs. not, and how to use it to improve your business.

    Rachel has done many in-person events and pop-ups and she shares how getting this real-time feedback from customers and increased visibility has positively impacted her business and why she recommends all entrepreneurs take advantage of the free market research you gain from these events. 

    We talk about burnout as entrepreneurs, and Rachel shares the importance of taking time for yourself  and why your business is only as good as you are. 

    We chat about the importance of taking risks, Rachel’s experience with imposter syndrome, and Rachel shares how it’s important to know your weaknesses and strengths so you can really maximize your value as an entrepreneur and so you can enrich people's lives in whatever you do.
