Episode 99: Couple Goals?

BONUS EPISODE ALERT!  We know you're probably out in these streets getting your shop on or in a food-coma from whatever good eatin's you had yesterday, but we wanted to gift you with something special.  The Bougie Crew + 1 decided to hop on the mic to discuss some of the latest news in black celebrity culture, from the allegations from Cassie about Diddy, to the allegations from Keke Palmer about her baby-daddy, her mom and her allegations about Usher, and the alleged assault claims that took place at a Tamar Braxton concert.  Yes, we know, its a whole lot of allegations so its gonna be a whole lot of this word thrown around in this episode... "ALLEGEDLY"!  We give you our take on these topics, and are joined by former guest Sweet Tooth, and we also each give thanks for specific things we are grateful for in our lives.  Enjoy this treat for your ears, and Happy Holidays!

We've made it through 4 seasons, and 100 episodes guys!  We've gotta celebrate this one BIG!  We reminisce on some of the funniest, hardest, and our most favorite episodes from all the way back at episode 1 back in 2020, to now. What's up Bougie Babes & Bro's? Okay, so now that you've heard our thoughts on the Jada & Will situation right after the slap, here's our thoughts TODAY after finding out that the Black Community's idolized wedded couple has actually been living their lives separated for years, even through the midst of the Red Table talk series, the August Alsina entanglement revelation, and the Chris Rock assault on live television.  Were any of you guys surprised to hear the news?  Is it genuine or just fodder to sell books?  True, at one time, we looked up to the Smith's as "couple goals", but does that still ring true?  We also discuss the Jeezy and Jeannie Mai split a little more in detail, and Miss E's definition of the strangest couple of modern times (Caresha and Diddy).    Sip some tea on this one, while we give you some of our own!

Bougie Babes!  We takin' it back this week!  We've got our new episode (which will be dropping later this evening) but since we are discussing someone we've talked about at length before, we decided to bring it back around.  Jada Pinkett-Smith has been making her rounds this week, and we of course are gonna give you our 2 cents, hell, our whole dollar on that, but what were we saying about her the last time we discussed her?  Welp, we did a live event right after the infamous slap heard around the world at the 2022 Academy Awards, and boy were our thoughts different then opposed to what they are now.  Here's our conversation from then, and come back because later tonight we will post our latest thoughts on the matter!   Until then, we are sure you will get some laughs with this heated convo!

Bougie Babes!  What's good!?!  So now it seems like the culture is sort of in this 'relationship recession' in a sense because so many couples are splitting.  Every other day we get the tea on another couple calling it quits.  But there are always a few random exes that may spin dat block and give the relationship another try.  This week, we're talking about whether or not WE would, or HAVE spun dat block before.  We also give our take on some of the latest couples to throw in the towel, and our thoughts on which former couples should or shouldn't ever try to get that ol' thang back again.  Which of us do you think is the most, and the least open to the idea of giving an ex a second try?  Which couples in the media do you believe should spin da block or never spin it back again?  Get you some Avion, some snacks, and listen up, cuz this one's good!

Greetings and Salutations Bougie Babes!  So, you remember when we talked about our upcoming 20-year High School Class reunions and other reunions past back on episode 94?  Well this week, we continued the conversation but we've got another fresh perspective. Benita keeps it candid with us about how she was able to attend both of the separate events back at the 10-year reunion, and how she feels about it happening again this year at the 20-year.  She spoke her peace, and as usual, we ventured into all territories reminiscing about our school days.  Some of us have since attended our reunions or are even attending them this weekend and we decided to chat with an integral part of the story that Miss Erica, and classmates relayed about the shocking discovery of another reunion for the white members of their class of '03.     Sit back, sip some cognac, and relax as you get into this one.  Its pure entertainment!

Bougie Babes! Whew chile...ever had a boss who you felt was setting you up for failure?! Nonetheless fire you for trying to do your job?! Well baybeee this is the episode for you! We had the pleasure of bringing our new friend of the show, Jasmyne Flowers, to the show and she told us about her job and the mess that it brought to her professional career. She left us confused, hurt and ready to damn fight because how could her boss play in her face like that?! The door was opened to addressing the qualms we as black people deal with in working for black women in leadership. Yes baybee...we went THERE! What's Good Bougie Babes and Bro's!  We're keepin' it real this week with the age-old question, "Can you turn a hoe into a housewife"?  Society has a "Housewife Goals" culture currently that many in our generation are either involved in, or currently seeking.  Many consider marriage the ultimate level-up.  So we decided to tackle how its possible for men and women who have been in these streets to be transformed with the coveted ring on it!  Does a checkered sexual or dating past matter when selecting your lifemate?    Is it possible for someone to suddenly go from promiscuity to eternal monogamy?  Get into it with us!  We even touched on whether cosmetic surgery impacts your decision to date or pursue someone.  Grab your earl grey tea or some grey goose, and a snack and enjoy the debate ahead!

Bougie Babes!!! Baby the whole cast is celebrating 20 years! We graduated from high school in 2003 and it’s time to celebrate… right?! Chile we brought my homegirls Shauna & Atrina to the Bougie Den to chat about the struggles of planning and hosting class reunions while the cast was so not excited about participating in their own!
