Reading Plotinus's "The Dialectic" Part One: The Method Of Philosophy
Plotinus lived in a time in which the Army of Rome ruled in secret. Society was in chaos and desperation for moral order was becoming insurmountable. His theories led to the clear understanding of the tripartite of the soul. So as god gave the world a son Plotinus gave society some serious perspective on how to understand and appreciate the gifts of god. He relied heavily on the thought of Plato but he discusses a variety of thinker. This is the first section of Plotinus's book Enneads or The Dialectic in English.
