    Podcast Summary

    • Gary Vaynerchuk on the Future of ListiclesListicles have been a media trend for over a century and despite criticism, they continue to be popular. Gary Vaynerchuk shares his views on their future and compares the backlash against them to previous media trends.

Gary Vaynerchuk, in episode 30 of his AskGaryVee Show, discussed his views on listicles and their place in media. He believes that despite criticism from some, listicles are here to stay and have been a part of media for over a century. He compares the backlash against listicles to previous debates about reality TV and game shows. According to Gary, the trend of listicles is strong at present, but he expresses concerns about their future as the trend may fade. He also shared a personal anecdote about how turning 30 and starting Wine Library TV significantly changed his life. Despite the audio quality not being up to par in this episode, Gary encourages viewers to enjoy the content and keep asking questions.

    • Trends in content consumption may be enjoyable but can be ruined by marketersMake unique, meaningless names memorable through branding efforts, as successful brands can turn meaningless words into significance

Trends in content consumption, such as listicles, can be enjoyable for audiences but may be ruined by marketers. However, as long as customers continue to engage with the content, it can be successful as a business for the next few years. Regarding startups and choosing a name, meaningless words can become significant when associated with a successful brand. The name "Vaynerchuk," for example, meant nothing until Gary Vaynerchuk built a business around it. In the age of social media with character limits, consider making a unique and meaningless name memorable through branding efforts.

    • The name of a company can change but focus on delivering valueAssess what's best for the product or business and focus on delivering value, even if it means changing the name or your role.

The name of a company or brand may evolve over time to better resonate with the audience, but the focus should be on delivering a valuable product. Gary Vaynerchuk shared an example from his own experience, when he left Wine Library TV to start VaynerMedia, and nobody internally wanted to take over the Wine Library TV channel. He emphasized that it wasn't a conscious decision, but rather the right one for him. He also encouraged everyone to assess their situation and focus on what is best for the product or business, rather than what they may want it to be. Additionally, he highlighted the importance of having the right personality to put oneself out there and the value of assessing opportunities.

    • Discussing show dynamics and desire for feedbackMaintain open communication and be receptive to feedback to ensure the best possible outcome in any project or show.

The dynamic of a show can change when someone else takes over, and the person being replaced may have the desire to return. The speaker in this conversation expressed a desire to go to San Francisco and asked for critiques on the five-minute episodes. The conversation also included some playful banter about making football predictions. Overall, the speaker seemed open to answering questions and engaging in conversation. It's important to remember that every situation is unique, and the dynamics of a show or project can shift when new people are involved. It's crucial to maintain open communication and be receptive to feedback to ensure the best possible outcome.

The Most Important Question In Business

The Most Important Question In Business

Here’s the problem most people run into when they create content online: They think they have to have something to say. So many of you aren’t putting out content online because you think you need to have the perfect message, or something “valuable” to share (based on your own arbitrary opinion). And what I’m telling you is, you will get more business if you put out literally anything. If you’re an auto dealer, you could put out a 5 min video every afternoon just recapping what happened in your day. If you’re a real estate agent, you could post updates on what your opinions are about the Super Bowl teams. Get on social media and tell your truth … it’s really that simple.

5 Core Pieces of Value to Get You to Succeed

5 Core Pieces of Value to Get You to Succeed

There are so many people racing to earn more money than they can even spend even if they have to sacrifice their happiness and livelihood to do so. The really disturbing part about this is that most of these people only want the money so they can be flashy and show off their overly expensive cars (that they don't even want) and other dumb things to other people. Happiness needs to be the Northstar that we strive towards. If we aren't aiming to be happy, then is it really worth having more money than you can spend and more cars than you can drive? —
