    About this Episode

Whatsapp has made a statement that their algorithm is strong and there is no way that it could have been a leak from their end. Whatsapp privacy and encryption levels are very high and cannot be breached. The reason for her leaked chats could be that she herself gave the authorities her password or that the authorities used Mobile Forensic Cloning. This is a method in which the binary data of a cell phone is copied to get access to the data. All our data (chats, pictures etc) are stored in our device in a binary code made up of 1s and 0s and this can be recovered. Under 65B of the IT Act, it says that information obtained from a phone without physically tampering with it can be used as evidence, which is what is happening in Deepika’s case. Another question is how did 3 year old data not be deleted? This is because when you delete something off your device, it does not get fully deleted. It stays stored until it is overwritten by newer data. This is scary for many of us, and in the coming segments Rajiv Makhni will give us tips on how to protect our data better.

Apple Watch 6 or Watch SE? | Tech Makhni by Rajiv Makhni

Apple Watch 6 or Watch SE? | Tech Makhni by Rajiv Makhni
Pankit from Delhi calls about the Apple SE Watch and the Apple 6th Gen Watch that were launched at the Apple Event. There is a huge price difference between both, so he is confused as to which one to buy. Makhni helps him out. The Apple Watch 6 has a new S6 chip and a U1 chip. It comes with short range wireless protocols to double as your car key, activate home automation and more. It is 2x brighter than the last one as well. It detects elevation changes, tracks your habits and more. It has a new sensor to measure blood oxygen which can help detect asthma, influenza and even Covid-19. It is priced at Rs. 40,900 for the GPS one and Rs. 49,900 for the Cellular one. The Apple watch SE is Rs. 29,900 for the GPS one and Rs. 33,900 for the Cellular one. The difference is that it is less premium looking and made of a less premium material. There is no always on display. It uses the series 5 chip. You can make calls, send messages and use the main features but some health features aren't there. Makhni believes that at under 30k it's a great watch as it serves all the main functions.

IFA 2020- The Tech Show held during Covid-19! | Tech Makhni by Rajiv Makhni
IFA, a technology trade show was held in Berlin despite the pandemic. It had limited people and limited brands, yet it did well. The virtual leg of IFA was rather successful. TCL launched 2 new tablets- the TCL 10 Tab Max and TCL 10 Tab Mid. Each of these have large 10.6 inch screens, 8000 maH batteries and will be priced at 249 euros. What is surprising is that TCL did not launch a TV, something they always do. However they launched a smart watch made for senior citizens called MT34A. Makhni finds this name really complicated and useless, especially since senior citizens wont be able to remember it. The MT34A is pretty cool though, it has fall detection, 2 way calling, medication reminders, an easy interface with large icons and it is well suited for senior people. JBL launched 3 TWS earbuds at the IFA. Rajiv thinks the whole TWS phase is an overkill as every brand, no matter how big, small, old or new, is launching a TWS model. India alone has over 100 TWS models! JBL also launched Extreme Rugged speakers and wired earphones, but more on JBL in next weeks segment.

Sony WF-1000XM3 Earbuds Review | Tech Makhni by Rajiv Makhni

Sony WF-1000XM3 Earbuds Review | Tech Makhni by Rajiv Makhni
In this segment of Tech Makhni, Rajiv Makhni reviews the brand new TWS Sony WF-1000XM3 Earbuds, that are supposed to be Sony’s most premium model yet. For Rs. 19,990 they are quite the package. They look sleek and fit perfectly in the ear and don’t stick out. Their position in the ear cancels outside noise along with the Noise Cancelling technology. The Noise Cancelling QN1e processor has been used in the Sony WF-1000XM3. This chip is used in Sony’s bigger and more premium headphones as well. It is also an amplifier, has search engine connections and advanced recognition, which actually adjusts the sound quality and noise cancellation based on your surroundings. They also connect to apps and can be used to fine tune the audio. It has touch gestures and great call quality. It has a long lasting battery that can run for 6 hours and an additional 18 hours with the case. It also has a 10 minute quick charge for 90 minutes of usage. Makhni believes that these are a better buy than the Apple Airpods Pro and Sennheiser ones.
