Find time to meditate on the beauty of the gospel, the great love of our Lord, the awesome harmony between the Persons of the Trinity in salvation. Praise God the Father for His excellent plan of salvation and Christ Jesus for putting it into action and the Holy Spirit for applying it to us. Thank Christ for being the Good Shepherd.

Take a moment today and examine your heart to see if there is any element that would cause God to resist you. Then seek to be humble before Him so that in due course, He should lift you up.

When the nature of God is considered in the book of Isaiah, it is clear that He is the only God, that He “established the ancient nation” Israel, and that He will keep His promise to them. Not only that, but being omniscient, God knows “the things that are coming and the events that are going to take place.” God has a plan, He is true, and we are called to wait upon Him.

Paul often told others that he was praying for them and specifically what he was praying for. Let someone you pray for know what you are thankful for and what you prayed for, and encourage him or her by that.

The implied we in our passage, communicates that this vision for global mission work was so contagious that there were others who had become partakers in it. So it must be with us! Take time to pray for the preaching of the gospel to all the people groups of the world. But also evaluate your own heart, and answer this simple question: Am I zealous for the gospel to be preached to the ends of the world to such a degree that people around me are catching the same vision and passion?

God has given gifts to the church in the form of spiritual leaders: initially apostles and prophets, followed by evangelists and pastor and teachers. Their role is to equip the saints for the work of service, resulting in the edification and maturation of the church. Such a church will then be anchored in the word and able to withstand the wind and waves of false doctrine.

What a comfort! In the midst of our failures in this life, God is to be our foremost comforter and friend. This is why the writer to the Hebrews writes in the next verse, “Therefore let us draw near with confidence to the throne of grace, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need” (Heb. 4:16).

Since God has done a work in you through regeneration, walk in the works He has for you. Remind yourself regularly that God’s purpose in saving you was that you might live a holy life filled with good works (Eph. 2:10; Titus 2:14). Make it your priority today to live life characterized by good works, all for the glory of His name. If you have been saved by faith, you have been saved for good works.
