    About this Episode

Kevin Moore has a collegiate background in biochemistry, then transitioned into dance. With a wide range of knowledge and practicing martial arts and pilates, Kevin created a movement specialty method that connects movement with open awareness of the mental state a person is in. Diving deep into the hemispherical spaciasion and body movement, he has helped many people of all backgrounds, from fencing athletes to doctors to office workers. This podcast has some controversial topics that bring light on different topics to create great insight on ways of thinking.

0:00 How I was introduced to the Reembody Method, and what it is.

5:40 Having a background in biochemistry but completely changing our route shaped us. We share common interests and taking the unconventional route to get to the places we are at now.

10:25 Reembody Method is an interdisciplinary discipline that takes many practices into one to help people.

12:10 Human consciousness and the unknowns of the human brain that could potentially dictate stories we tell ourselves later in life.

15:27 Hemispherical spaciasion, looking at the left side and right side of the brain and how they process different things, art, logical, etc.

18:30 How to “Pause” the moment to reflect on what you are feeling.

20:40 Movement and “pausing” work together to create the best environment for helping people to feel their reaction.

24:00 How the energy states of the body at a physical, psychological, and spiritual reaction comes up.

29:50 What does a session at Reembody Method look like?

36:49 How do we get people to be self sufficient and get clients working without a trainer?

42:17 How does posture affect daily life and what is correct posture?

44:35 Having imbalances in one area of the body can create imbalances in multiple areas of the body.

58:20 Fixing clients issues by sometimes choosing what the person should do.. Moving the big rocks first.

1:05:00 Your individual background can affect the ways you engage with people your are working with.

1:13:12 Pushing yourself and getting uncomfortable could potentially develop growth, and when should you enjoy life.

1:22:50 Subconsciousness and the ability to react before thinking about the outcome.

1:24:13 The Reembody Method and the “black box” method to work with others.

1:48:30 Breathing during running and the importance of the exhale portion of the breath.

1:55:35 Sitting all day and not moving, then spending one hour at the gym. Move throughout the day and try to reduce the cultural awkwardness of what others may think about you reaching your goals.

2:05:30 Looking at the body and assuming the body is tight, when a muscle might be weak, non-active, shortened, or tight.

2:11:15 The Reembody Method practices the change of state is more important than the movement itself.

Weight loss vs Fat loss, cardio or strength training first, and Fasting

In this episode I bring up some of the topics I have been hearing a lot about. It is January of 2020, so yes I know people are setting goals and starting their path to improve their health, but at what cost? I break down the difference in weight loss vs fat loss and how one is better than the other. I also discuss when you should do cardio or strength depending on your goals. Everyone has different goals so you should not treat yourself as someone with different end goals. I also talk about some of the "newest" fad trends, Fasting... That's right, is it good, bad, or does it matter?
