    About this Episode

Today’s episode is called “LA City Hall Racism Fiasco”.

The people of Los Angeles define this city as a place where bold dreams, creative expression, and limitless possibilities abound.

One of the most culturally diverse destinations in the world. You’ll be inspired by its unique perspectives, unexpected moments, and open-hearted community.

The City of Angels has an abundance of multi-faceted neighborhoods and hidden gems to explore.

If you’ve been following me you already know that I am living in Los Angeles City, to be exact in South Central L.A. That is why also you notice in my books that Los Angeles City is mentioned.

We always talk about racism and social justice issues happening in cities and states around the US. But for today’s topic, we will be focusing on Los Angeles City.

The story today is about the resignation of the president of the Los Angeles City Council Nury Martinez.  This is for comments she made last year, and it was secretly recorded, but published in the last few weeks. These comments dealt with negative comments about black people, and indigenous people living in Los Angeles. More of this story is inside our podcast.

We will discuss how our political systems really work and you’ll be surprised to know that Los Angeles Times rarely covers anything racist behind the behavior at the Los Angeles City Council while turning a blind eye to the problems that affect black people. Additionally, they ignore the negative comments made about the behavior and lives of black citizens in Los Angeles. Again another issue that the media hides from you.

And that's where we're sitting in Los Angeles it's racist, corrupt, and getting away with it.

Open your mind to what is really happening around us. Keep up with the Ooooh I’m Tellin’ Podcast for more true and relevant racism and social justice issues that the media is keeping from you.

    TECHNOLOGY ATROCITY

    TECHNOLOGY ATROCITY

We have had topics from previous episodes regarding Technology Deprivation and how this has a negative impact on segregated minority and black communities in South Central L.A. In today’s episode, I will be telling a story about the atrocity of the deprivation of technology to minority and black communities. If you do not know yet, this year, the federal government will spend more than 60 billion to try to correct this tragedy.

As a result of the denial to access the latest technology then Cable Television minorities and black communities become impoverished communities in Los Angeles where gangs and crimes are prevalent.

I discussed here that the damage that Technology Atrocity caused minority and black communities cannot be reversed by the budget I mentioned above.

Tune in to today’s episode to learn more about our topic today.

Tragedy and Atrocity are well explained here:

“A  tragedy is an event that causes great suffering, destruction, and distress. In general, we look at tragedies as being naturally caused events such as hurricanes and tornadoes, and earthquakes, and atrocity is similar to a tragedy, but the fact is an atrocity is caused by human beings and is done by those who seek to do extremely wicked and cruel.

Atrocity is in fact a tragedy. But the reality is the difference between a tragedy and an atrocity is that atrocity is caused by human beings with malice and forethought. That is the issue. The malice and forethought of the behavior of human beings are what make it an atrocity. Yes, tragedy can include events caused by human beings, but these tragedies are really with malice and for.”

BLACK CIVIL RIGHTS ARE WORTH $1 - Judge Marshall

BLACK CIVIL RIGHTS ARE WORTH $1 - Judge Marshall

A dollar is sometimes enough to buy candies, but most of the time it is used to pay for court damages. Some of you may be aware of this, but others may not. If you are found liable for damages, you can receive a minimum payment of 1 US Dollar from the court. The same thing happened to us during Judge Consuelo Marshall's trial in the 1980s.

For the past two weeks, I am telling our story of social injustice, and racism from Black Government Officials, and a Black Lady Judge. As you already know from Episode 31, we won our appellate case against the City of Los Angeles and Judge Marshall’s Court.

The damages to our company have been calculated by Dr. Thomas Hasley. One of the leading communications economists in the United States in his sworn deposition. His calculation of damages for our company from 1983 through 1988 because of the ongoing violation of our civil rights, was approximately 70 million.

Judge Marshall whittle down the unanimous verdicts of the appellate court and the United States Supreme Court to $1 our rights as American citizens and 12 years of our lives valued at $1. Judge Marshall explained that she would not allow a jury to determine the damages to be awarded for the deprivation of our rights because any jury determination would be speculative.

This can be a perfect example of Black-on-black crime. They committed crimes not just against us but also against Minorities, Black Communities, to the next generation in South Central L.A.

I am telling this story because what happened to me (to us) can happen to you. I want to bring awareness to this kind of judicial system and inspire you to fight for your rights.

MY TRIP TO THE SUPREME COURT

MY TRIP TO THE SUPREME COURT

When you file a case and you have a strong legal case you will fight until the end like what we did in our fight for our rights. But it could have not been the case because amending the case bleeds money on our side while the city of Los Angeles did not worry about the amount they spent because it is not their money, it is the Taxpayers' money.

You can imagine how many people with strong legal cases, but no financial resources, lost their day in court? How many sleazy politicians, dishonest bureaucrats, and authoritarian personalities got off without so much of a slap on the risk of abusing the power the citizens gave them because of money issues?

In Episode 30 I already discussed how we were able to finance our legal case. In today’s episode, I tell a story about my trip to the Supreme Court. The fact that the US Supreme Court would now view our complaint against the city of Los Angeles seems surreal. This is written in my first book Anatomy of a Hustle; Cable Comes to South Central L.A.

Here are the highlights from the book I read:

The newspaper made note of the unanimous nine oh decision in favor of preferred communications. A rarity on such a divided court cable television was clearly subject to the protections of the First Amendment, and all the justices remained the case back to the US District Court of Judge Consuelo Marshall for trial when I called my brother Carl, and he looked at the Los Angeles edition of the Los Angeles.

To us, the city of Los Angeles was a perfect example of a city government going awry. And make no mistake in our research, Los Angeles's reputation for its corruption of power was replicated many times over in other cities, large and small. They looked to the larger trend-setting cities to define their governing style, what they would become, and what they could get away with.

Judge Consuelo ruled in 1980. That there was no possibility that we could have a valid action against the city. It had taken two other courts, three years, and hundreds of thousands of dollars of our money and our friends' personal money just to get the right to ask for our constitutional rights from Judge Consuelo Marshall.

    CRITICAL RACE REALITY: CABLE TV

    CRITICAL RACE REALITY: CABLE TV

If you are looking for a real example of critical race reality, you must tune in for today’s episode because I will give you an exact example of critical race reality. This is critical and racial because approximately half a million mainly  Black Americans in Souther L.A. was get affected. Here I read a chapter from my book Anatomy of a Hustle Cable comes to South Central LA Chapter 11, the Justice Hustle, Part one

If you tune in to our Episode 29 last week it is about Critical Race (Theory) Reality. I mentioned an example of “Critical Race Reality” that happened 40 years ago when a minority group from Southern L.A were denied access to an emerging technology then the Cable Television which leads to poverty, homelessness, and a high crime rate in minority communities at present times.  Just to get clear, no criticism of the theory, because theories are all well and good, but the reality is where we live.

    Highlights from the Book

For the South Central Cable Television franchise, our suit outlined all the facts and issues regarding the egregious and illegal activities we uncovered in our efforts to obtain the franchise. The case was directed to be heard by US District Court Judge Consuelo Marshall. Surprise surprise, we did our homework on Judge Marshall.”

How many others trying to make positive differences in their neighborhoods were tossed out as well? Although we knew what Judge Marshall might do, our cable franchise group was. Tired and near broke. Judge Marshall had sunk any chance we had to refer to the cable franchise case in future court filings with the legal death ray of no right to amend.

We were representing South Central, the people living within one of the lowest socioeconomic neighborhoods in the country who could not afford to fight for their own rights, or perhaps were not even aware of the situation at all, protecting these rights. Which benefited all of us, almost always felt to the hard court actions of one individual, one family, or one group.

    CRITICAL RACE REALITY

    CRITICAL RACE REALITY

“Critical race reality is the analysis of causes and effects of critical and specific issues related to race within the United States. You've all heard about critical race theory, but in fact, every theory is designed to give you some insight or some guidance into the reality of a situation”

The book Critical Race Theory is making rounds in the news now. Concerned parents and government officials want to prevent this from being taught in schools.

In today’s episode, we will discuss Critical Race Theory (CRT) but what we will be focusing on is that Reality is more important than Theory in solving Racism that has been happening to our country for 200 to 400 years ago.

Here I discussed two major issues of many major issues that affect race in this country, The technology and deprivation of that technology to minority citizens and The cause and effect of homelessness.

We should include Technology Deprivation that happened 40 years ago when discussing racism issues. If you've been listening to our podcast, you've heard about the denial of Cable Television to South Central's minorities. There is a domino effect on minority communities due to technology deprivation; unemployment is so high, education is so low, economic development is low, and therefore poverty is high.  CRIME WILL NEVER GO DOWN AS LONG AS POVERTY STAYS HIGH. That is an inevitability. Technology deprivation cannot be addressed by a theory based on events from 200 and 400 years ago.

In this episode, I have no intention to dispute theories. Still, I want you to realize that it is better to look at reality because by dealing with reality, we have the ability to verify the decisions that have been made that led to the reality, and at the same time deal with the causes and effects of that reality upon a group within society.

Let us solve the racism issues instead of looking at what happened 200 to 400 years ago. Tune in and have fresh insights on this matter.

REVISIT TO ISSUE ON TERM LIMITS

This episode is a republished topic from Episode 4  about Term Limits to Control Federal Government in time for the upcoming midterm election to highlight corruption that comes with too much power for too long. In light of this, we should remind ourselves to vote for those who will support and push for term limits legislation.

GOVERNMENT CORRUPTION IN THE CITY OF L.A.

GOVERNMENT CORRUPTION IN THE CITY OF L.A.

Corruptions happen in any city and state in the U.S. but for today’s episode, we will discuss Government Corruption in Los Angeles.

If you have read my book The Anatomy of Hustle; Betrayal of South Central L.A.  you already know the story of corruption that happened at that time. It was when our plan to venture into Cable Television Industry that could have helped minority communities elevate from poverty was stopped by a Government  Official and a Judge.

That was just the beginning of the corruption that has been happening in the government of L.A.

Corruption in the government affects economic growth and the education system for minority communities.

Tune in as I discuss in detail how our government works.

TERM LIMITS AND THIRD MAJOR PARTY IS THE KEY...

TERM LIMITS AND THIRD MAJOR PARTY IS THE KEY...

Claiming something you lost is necessary, whether it is a material item or something you lost control of.

Today, we'll talk about losing control of our Government. As US citizens we should have control over our Government, not the other way around. It seems like they are doing things on their own terms and forget or ignore what we have to say.

The perfect example of this is that 80% of Americans want the limit on terms for Federal officials but it seems they are not listening to us. There is this one congressman who tries to bring up the issue but his colleagues just ignore him.

Indeed we have political freedom, we have the right to elect officials that benefits our community. However, the problem is we have only two parties to choose from to elect. Based on Gallup polls surveys in 2021, 68 % of Americans supports that we need a third party. It is a dramatic increase from what the  Gallup organization showed us in 2018, that  58% of Americans need a third party.

Here, I discuss my opinion on solutions to reclaim our control of the government. If you want an in-depth discussion about the Term Limits and Major Third Party please head on to our past episodes here:

    WHERE IS THE OUTRAGE?

    WHERE IS THE OUTRAGE?

How do you feel when someone you know or your pet gets to experience violence?

Outrageous right? We feel like we want to get back to those who did this to them.

Violence is occurring in our community, especially in minority communities, so where is the outrage?

I am not referring to domestic violence it could be another topic, but I am referring to violence where youth and children are the victims of killing.

In today’s episode, we will discuss the violence that is happening in our society but no one seems to care because I cannot see outrageous citizens.

Dogs are man's best friends, so it makes us feel outrageous when someone hits or smashes them. The media will find a way to locate the perpetrator, and police will conduct a thorough investigation. Humans who are victims of violence should receive the same sympathy and attention too.

Please listen until the end for you to get the whole picture of the issue we are discussing for today’s episode.
