Episode #190 : Mind/Body/Healing With Leah Drew
Episode #190.
The Podcast is back. I had so much talking with Frank King. He is know as The Mental Health Comedian and we laugh and talk about our mental health challenges.
Frank King BIO:
Frank King, Suicide Prevention Speaker, a writer for The Tonight
Show for 20 years, and a full-time standup comedian for 37 years.
He’s fought a lifetime battle with Depression and Chronic Suicidality,
turning that long dark journey into 8 TEDx Talks and insights on
Mental Health Awareness (only one other person on the planet has
8 TEDx Talks…Bill Gates).
Depression and suicide run in his family. He’s thought about killing
himself more times than he can count. He’s come close enough to
dying by suicide that he can tell you what the barrel of his gun
tastes like…
He uses his life lessons to start the conversation giving people
permission to give voice to their feelings and experiences.
He believes that where there is humor there is hope, where there is
laughter there is life, nobody dies laughing.

What do you think of when you look in the mirror? How the body impacts diagnosis and healing. Thoughts on continuing to talk about how medicine treats symptoms but to get to how we feel in our body and what we think of our bodies..this a huge missing component in these conversations around diagnosis.

This is a special and unique episode. I get into some work with my friend Rimsha. We explore some childhood fears and I'm all for it! I hope it gives you hope that you can do this work to. These are the kinds of conversations that we need.
BIO:
I am a Shamana, Medicine Woman and a healer (who is also behind the scenes on a deep childhood sexual trauma healing journey). I was born and raised in Pakistan and moved to the US when i was 14. My spiritual awakening (or as I like to call wounds awakening) happened when I one day woke up, listened to the spirit that was loud and clear and moved to Nepal as a young 17 year old. This is where my healing began. I have traveled to over 28 countries to search for "Me". And during the period, I got lost in the masculine world first as an aerospace engineer then as a US Marine Officer until my nervous system completely fried and i was forced to face those wounds that i first discovered as a young woman in Nepal. I have known deep pain yet in that pain, I also learned to alchemize them to be a spiritual guide. I deeply care for the awakening of the collective so we stop going to war with each others nation and stop going to war with ourselves and to remember that we are the God's consciousness living a human experience. We CAN in fact live a beautiful, prosperous, heck even luxurious life even as a spiritual guide.

Thoughts on spiritual and theological ideas related to wisdom and having something to say. Goes back to childhood and then was extreme in the time at IHOP in Kansas City. Let me know your thoughts On this episode.
Episode #181.
Quiet desperation. All the signs of the universe and God's master plan come down to this very real and special moment. Either move forward or turn away and hide. Either rise to the occasion or stay in the same loop you've been in for a really long time. Without shame or judgment or guilt or fear that does not move us toward the light. I am interested in the healing path.
