    About this Episode

"Everyone needs a therapist or a coach." Do you agree? Join today's conversation as Soumen and I jump into mental health. Then, we transition into educating you on unique things employers are doing to go above and beyond for their people. If something sounds cool, then let's talk about how we can get that implemented in your company!

Another line that stuck with me from today's conversation? "Keep yourself curious."

I've learned that leaders often don't understand they could provide so much more for their people if they simply had more healthcare strategy. It's really fun to help guide leadership teams to a better path forward. A path that frees up more money to elevate the investment they are making in their greatest asset, YOU!

Appreciation is the Essence of Communication with Cornell's President Jonathan Brand

Appreciation is the Essence of Communication with Cornell's President Jonathan Brand

Jonathan Brand is the President at Cornell College. Join the conversation and it will be worth your time. There is a lot to learn from with this conversation!

One thing that made me laugh from the conversation was his quote “Just because people climb to higher titles within the organization, it doesn’t mean they are more intelligent.” Isn’t that the truth?

Tune in as me and my guest, Jonathan Brand, discuss leadership and what it's like to lead a college.  Personally, what I’m excited to apply right away is the idea of identifying a time to slow down and ask others for help. It’s too easy to just jump into something and try to solve the problem. But how often does that just take care of the surface level?

If you enjoyed today’s episode, please give the podcast a review! Please continue sharing what resonated with you – also, if you have an idea for a future guest, then let me know! Text my cell 740-525-5259. Enjoy the day!

A Typical Day, Living a Life of Purpose with Dr. Jason Steinle

A Typical Day, Living a Life of Purpose with Dr. Jason Steinle

If you aren't open to some personal growth, then please come back later. Dr. Jason Steinle is composed but energetic. Quite busy but mindful of being present. We will jump in to a typical day and also dive in to understand how Jason has evolved personally and professionally over the years. "When I was young, in my 20s and 30s I was totally believing 'you can do it all' then I realized, yeah I can, but can I do it all really well?"

    The biggest takeaway?

"Once we accept that we matter, not just tell ourselves but truly believe that we matter, that our life is important, that YOUR life is important, the choices you make in life become easier."

Dr. Steinle has a saying that he doesn't want to add years to your life but "Life to your years." Even if you never get to meet him, I can't help but wonder if this conversation will add life to a listener's years.

What resonates with you from the episode? If you are willing to share, then I'd love to hear it!

Oh and listener, let me reiterate, that YOU MATTER.

Take Yourself & Your Team from "Danger" to the "Thrive State" - Dr. V

Get ready for a journey! Dr. V has worked his way up from being a refugee to being on top of the materialistic world as a Doctor with a fancy car and a fancy house in America. Then one day he realized the fulfillment he expected, never came.

Have a listen how Dr. V provides an incredible cellular analogy that will help us understand why it is so very important to have your body firing on all cylinders. Similarly, why it's so important for companies to pay attention to every cell in the ecosystem. In other words, every person in the organization.

Learning to Walk at Age 9, Now Walking through the Finish Line - The Dynamic Duo

Join in for a conversation with Nick Hyndman & Josh Jordan to catch a glimpse of what it's like to go for extreme physical and mental challenges.  Cerebral palsy might slow down Nick but his mindset is the real champion.

Nick overcame the odds and learned how to walk at 9 years old. Then continued on to join the wrestling team in high school. Nick reminds us "it doesn't matter what physical challenge you are facing, you can overcome it." Nick continues to defy the odds.

Josh wrestled with Nick at Perrysburg High School (Ohio) and is the muscle behind the two of them as they compete. Marathons, triathlons, even the Ironman 70.3 in Muncie, IN last year!

Don’t Let the Logistics Get in the Way with Mike Delmonico

Don’t Let the Logistics Get in the Way with Mike Delmonico

Why do kids see the 🌎 with a lens of endless possibilities? Why do we, as adults, not chase our dreams?

I’m thrilled to share today’s episode with Mike Delmonico as he takes us on a wild ride. Mike is simply vibrant and I’m sure you will feed off his energy. That said, it hasn’t always been that way.

This episode is centered around leadership but I was pleasantly surprised that we never once used the word leadership. In fact, I was reminded that leaders must first take care of themselves. You must fill up your proverbial cup first.

Mike Delmonico Was a bartender for 12 years in the downtown Denver area. After starting a family in 2014 he felt the pressures of parenthood and wanted more flexibility with the schedule. Tune in to understand how Mike is now to the point, eight years later, where he’s leading a team of 50 people and growing. His team culture is unlike any other in the financial industry and I will say that it’s because his desire to help people answer the two very important questions that we discussed!

Post show notes: Well what did you think? Did you find a takeaway? Tell me about it! Text at 740-525-5259 or email jfutrell@truenorthcompanies.com
