As many people look at 1 Peter 3:18-22 they often hear the many views that commentators have concerning this passage but very few people nail down exactly what is going through the mind of Peter and his audience, and so in this sermon we are going to take a look at what it would have been the foundation and context for Peter to reference these things that have puzzled us for many centuries in the church! Here it is Episode 9 “Faithful amid Persecution” In this episode we see how Jesus made it clear that those of the world will hate Christians because the world hates Christ. If Christians are like the world: vain, earthly, sensual, and given to pleasure, wealth, and ambition, the world would not oppose us. But Christians do not belong to the world, which is why the world engages in Christian persecution. Christians must learn to recognize the value of persecution and even to rejoice in it, not in an arrogant way but quietly and humbly because persecution has great spiritual value. In this episode we look at how God’s people should respond to the current cultural climate that is calling for social justice that is focused on a social construct rather than on a Kingdom-minded perspective!

Join us as we begin a new mini-series titled "Out of Context", where we will be studying various passages that are most often misused, misunderstood, and misinterpreted in a shorter format! To kick off the series, we will be looking at Matthew 7:1. "Do not judge". What does this mean? And is Jesus really saying not to judge? In 30 minutes or less, we will be looking at what is perhaps the most misunderstood verse in the Bible.

What does it mean for a home to be gospel-centered? How involved should a parent be in the life of their children? Is it the church's or parent's responsibility to nurture and tend to the spiritual health of the children?
