    About this Episode

COVID-19 or the coronavirus has descended on our country and as a result we are experiencing unprecedented disruption in our daily lives such as closing schools, bars, restaurants and other non-essential businesses.  We are all practicing "social distancing."  Many states and companies have mandated that employees work remotely.   This will have a big emotional and mental impact on everyone, but salespeople will be hit particularly hard because this is unchartered water for them.  Here are 7 tips to help maximize your time to ensure immediate and long-term sales success during and after the pandemic.

    Saulle Says: Transformation

When you get to be my age...which is old...you realize that you are running out of time to be the person you want to be and accomplish all of the things you want to accomplish.   So you realize that you need to make fundamental and often times significant changes in your life.

Usually those changes are small and are done over time.  However, sometimes it requires a massive overhaul.    I opted for the latter.  Why?   Because I've tried baby steps before and it got me nowhere, so I decided to implement a series of profound changes all at once.   This is the story of what I am doing and the inspiration behind my metamorphisis.

Hopefully, you will find some value in my personal experiences and it will help you create a new journey of your own.   It's only been a month, but I feel like a completely different person in many ways.

Saulle Says: Get out of Your Comfort Zone

Everything you've ever wanted is on the other side of fear.   Have you heard that quote once or twice in your life?   I have.   And the reason is because it's 100% true.   As long as we are willing to live in the warm, safe, and familiar arms of our comfort zone, we will never experience personal growth, learning, and success.

Some of you will say, I'm perfectly happy where I am.   That's great.   This episode isn't for you.  For those of you who want to do more, be more, and challenge yourself - you are in the right place at the right time in your life.

    Saulle Says: Be Nice

This episode of the Saulle Says Podcast focuses on two simple words: Be Nice.   We have seen a gradual deteriotation of niceness in our society thanks in large part to the media - television and social.   You can throw COVID in there for good measure.   The fact is all of us have to get back to doing the "little things" everyday.   The effort is minimal, but the impact will be significant and far reaching.

Saulle Says: Seven Sales Secrets - Part II

Saulle Says: Seven Sales Secrets - Part II

The latest episode is Saulle’s Seven Sales Secrets.    I'm particularly excited about this episode because the "secrets" can be applied to any sales professional in any field.

Sometimes my ideas come to me through personal experiences while other times I’ll find inspiration through an article or book that I read.  Regardless I always try to put my unique spin on topics so they are relatable to you.  Sometimes it’s helpful to hear a perspective from someone who has tried, failed and tried again.

I don't always break any new ground or revolutionize the sales industry, but I do share some insights that I’ve collected over the past 25+ years in sales.  I’ve been a sole contributor, a sales manager and currently a regional director, so I’ve seen and done things from many different perspectives.   And I can tell you this many of the things I learned and was taught early in my career still applies today.

I probably would have made a lot more money and been promoted a whole lot sooner if I would have listened and implemented some of these ideas sooner.   I was so cocky that I figured I knew everything I needed to know and I could get by on personality and persistence...that was a big mistake.

I believe you can be successful without embracing all of them, but I KNOW you will be successful if you do.

    Saulle Says: Live Life Better

Life is tough, but's it's my contention that we make it even tougher on ourselves due to inaction, decisions and bad habits.

I've shared some thoughts on how to live life better.   I learned these things on the fly through life experiences.  Some good   Some bad.   Maybe just maybe these will make an impact in your life.and potentially stop you from making the same mistakes or missing opportunities.

Thanks for giving me the chance to share my thoughts on the steps you can take to live life better.

    Saulle Says: Character

    Saulle Says: Character

The greek translation of the word character is "imprint on the soul."  Others say it is the mental and moral qualities distinctive to an individual.  In my mind it's quite simply the sum of the qualities that define a person.

How you define it is less important than whether or not you have it.  Because character is arguably the most important trait that a person possesses.  It is critical in finding the right spouse, friends and employees.  This episode delves deep into the importance of character and identifies the six traits that I believe are essential to finding a person with strong character.

    Saulle Says: Gratitude

    Saulle Says: Gratitude

Do you take time to recognize and acknowledge the goodness in your life?  Do you understand that the source of your goodness lies partially outside of yourself?  Do you realize that gratitude helps you connect to something larger than yourself such as other people, nature or maybe a higher power.

In this episode of the Saulle Says podcast I will discuss the importance of practicing gratitude.  I will share a couple of stories that help me experience a personal transformation and embrace the concept of gratitude.  I'll also talk about some of the ancillary benefits of living a life filled with gratitude such as happiness, positivity, feeling healthier and building stronger relationships.

Saulle Says: Regrets, I've Had a Few

Saulle Says: Regrets, I've Had a Few

Frank Sinatra crooned these famous words in his ballad My Way "regrets, I’ve had a few but then again too few to mention I did what I had to do and saw it through without exemption.”

Now THAT is a powerful way of thinking; of living but realistically it’s incredibly difficult to live a life without regrets.  Some may say impossible.

Regret is a negative emotion that occurs when a person believes his or her past actions or behaviors, if changed, may have achieved a better outcome. Regret is often closely associated with feelings of guilt and shame.

    In this episode we will

    • Define regret
    • Explain the deleterious effects it has on your health
    • Discuss the most common regrets people have at the end of their lives
    • How you can let go of past regrets and avoid future regrets
