Quimm History is a podcast about badly behaved femmes.

“Are you doing a deed or fleeing a deed?” This month Charlie and Darby explore the ambiguous and ubiquitous Baba Yaga, the magical maven from Slavic folklore.

In this first installment, we scratch the surface and explore a variety of roles Baba Yaga characteristically plays in Wonder Tales. Join us for Storytime, won’t you?

Myths and Legends: There are several that deal with Baba Yaga, but they just dropped a Baba Yaga focused one two weeks ago. (We have not heard it yet, but highly recommend this podcast in general.)

Quimm City Presents- Why Not Both? La Llorona with Bella Sin

In this first Quimm History/Whorror Show mashup, Charlie and Darby are joined by Bella Sin to discuss the legend of La Llorona. Inspired by the Conjuring Universe’s 2019 adaption of this Latinx folklore, this conversation spiraled into other portrayals of ‘the crying woman’ and beyond. Join us as we delve into La Llorona, cinema, colonialism, and why the story of Selena should be done as a horror thriller.

As spring heats to summer, the QCP Whorrors enjoyed some planetary escapism with a collection of alien films. Here is their account of that experience…… (dun, dun, dun)

    The Vast of Night (2019)*

    Attack the Block (2011)

     * Limited spoilers because we really want others to enjoy this film

    Trigger/content warning:

While this was a highly enjoyable watchlist and conversation, it did touch on systemic oppression, rape culture, and tourism as a tool of neocolonialism. The neurodivergent are easily distracted and this pair rarely have light conversations!
