In this episode, we discuss one of our favorite times of the year the Paschal celebration! This is a time to reflect and celebrate the death, burial, resurrection of Christ. 

We see types and shadows in the Hebrew Scriptures and we get an image in the New Testament, but the reality is Jesus the Christ. As Melito of Sardis says "Christ is the mystery of Pascha."

 

Trying to see the world through the eyes of a child is full of adventure, curiosity, and wonder.

An airplane becomes a spaceship, taking off into a sea of stars. Flying into an undiscovered galaxy, with the anticipation of discovering the unknown. 

A vacuum cleaner automatically transforms into a giant robot sucking up everything in its path.

A snowstorm is a dancing wonderland, with promises of fresh doughnuts, hot chocolate and endless castles to be built. 

These were some of the things we saw through the eyes of our children on our recent ‘round the world’ trip to the United States. As a couple, we have been on countless airplanes and seen incredible places over the years. But traveling with our children, as a whole family, turned this particular trip into a beautiful memory that we will cherish for the rest of our lives. We were blessed to share such a sweet time together. During our trip, our five Ugandan children became US Citizens and had many new and exciting experiences.

We also discuss justice from the biblical perspective and how God's desire is for His people to be part of the solution bringing "Restorative Justice" to the hurts in the world. We hope this will be the start of many conversations about these issues. 

Here in Uganda, we have been staying up to date with everything happening in the United States. The whole world is watching. And our native brothers and sisters have a few things to say. So we want to use this small platform that we have, our podcast, to invite a few of our Ugandan/Kenyan brethren on to have a discussion. As Christians living in the world, but not of the world. As blacks living in Africa, not in the United States. We want to have an open and honest conversation about culture, race, and racism. Stereotypes and biases. How do we break down walls? What can we do to reach out to those that are hurting? What does this look like for the global church? Racial reconciliation is vitally important to the gospel.

In this episode, Charlton and Yann continue the conversation about eco-theology, specifically addressing 2 Peter 3:10 which seems to convey the idea of creation being destroyed by fire, but is that the true picture that scripture paints, we look at the several New Testament uses for the greek word stoicheion to bring clarity to the passage in 2 Peter.
