Normie and his friends are investigating the origin of a mysterious note passed around their school. Normie, being a member of both the cheer team and the marching band, has unique access to both communities. He suspects that the note, which asks "Do you like me?", came from within the school, and they plan to find the definitive handwriting trace sample by accessing last year's ledger books from the marching band. Normie's friend Erica helps him analyze the handwriting, noting that it's not similar to Link's handwriting, and they discuss the possibility that it's from a band member. They recall a strange encounter at a table of "freakos" where they heard a horn sound, and they suspect that it might have been related to the band. Normie becomes frustrated when they can't find any concrete evidence, but they remain determined to solve the mystery. The power of rumors and gossip can significantly impact an individual's reputation, even in a school setting. The use of a piece of paper as a proxy for a hula hoop in a popular trend became a tool for spreading these rumors, with many students signing their names to the paper as a form of participation. The school newspaper, functioning as a tabloid, further fueled the fire by publishing an article about the incident, skewing the results in favor of the rumors. • Impact of dice rolls in D&DDice rolls determine outcomes in D&D, adding chance and excitement, and significantly impacting game progression.

During a D&D session, the use of dice determines the outcome of actions, and the results can significantly impact the game. For instance, Erica casted a 3rd level conjuration spell, "stinking cloud," which affected the entire room, except for those with certain immunities or protections. Her roll of 24 on the d20 determined the success of the spell, and the consequences were that creatures that failed their constitution saving throw were nauseated and unable to take action on their turn. Erica's use of a horseshoe as a weapon resulted in a critical hit on their opponent, but it also led to her mute herself with the weapon. These actions and their outcomes were determined by the roll of the dice and had a significant impact on the game's progression. The use of dice adds an element of chance and excitement to the game, making each turn unique and unpredictable.

Overall, the conversation revealed a disturbing and surreal situation involving the manipulation and collection of women's body parts.

However, when confronted by another character named Erica, he is caught off guard and forced to flee. Erica, on the other hand, uses her knowledge of the environment and quick thinking to mount a horse and chase after Dave, attempting to attack him with a horsewhip. The game continues with each character making strategic moves, such as using weapons, sprinting, and even attempting to dodge acid, showcasing the depth and complexity of their actions in this intriguing role-playing scenario.

    • Lesson in Teamwork and UnpredictabilityDuring a D&D session, a player's well-intended save attempt led to an unexpected consequence, emphasizing the importance of teamwork and the unpredictability of the game.

During a D&D session, a player tried to save another player from falling by making an acrobatics check, but ended up kicking her in the gums instead. They also had to deal with their own personal issues, such as missing teeth and upcoming events like a dance. Ultimately, they decided to return Abe to his parents and face the consequences of their actions. The group also welcomed a special guest, Elise Willems, and thanked their Patreon supporters. They encouraged listeners to check out their merchandise and support them on Patreon for bonus content.

    • The Rusty Trombone: Overcoming Personal ChallengesJust as rust can damage a trombone, negative thoughts, complacency, and fear can hinder personal growth. To prevent rust from taking hold, stay engaged, keep learning, and challenge yourself regularly.

That rust is the natural enemy of the trumpet, metaphorically referred to as the "rusty trombone" or "old rusty trombone." Just as rust can damage and degrade a trombone, causing it to lose its ability to produce clear and vibrant sounds, similar challenges can hinder personal growth and success. Rust can manifest in various forms, such as negative thoughts, complacency, or fear. Over time, these negative influences can corrode our confidence, creativity, and motivation, making it difficult to reach our full potential. To prevent rust from taking hold, it's essential to stay engaged, keep learning, and challenge ourselves regularly. In the context of our podcast, we'll be back on March 22nd, so mark your calendars and join us as we continue to explore the world of music and personal growth. Remember, just as a trombone needs regular maintenance to keep playing at its best, we too must invest time and effort in ourselves to stay sharp and overcome the rust that can accumulate in our minds and hearts.

This week, in Auburn, Indiana, where a carnival comes to town, but it's not only filled with mediocre rides & fixed games, but also a small group of workers, who have formed a Satanic cult. Their rituals & practices get out of control when people start being found dead, in multiple areas. The question is, why did they commit a most savage & unthinkable acts of violence? For Satan, or simple convenience?

Along the way, we find out that carnivals do not sound fun, that you might as well go for favorable terms when writing up a pact with Satan, and that it's very difficult to cut a heart out of a chest, while it is still beating!

But that doesn't stop their passion, as their affair eventually leads to a son, the divorce, in both marriages, and a chance to finally marry each other. But all is not well. When their secret son doesn't want to be adopted by his new (but real) father, bitterness grows in the home. After a few years, it all comes to a crazy conclusion, that the whole town will never forget! Also, one of the strangest ways murdering several people has ever been described, by the murderer!!

Along the way, we find out that Honey glazed ham season is in the spring, that bashing up cars because you're angry is never a good idea, and that sometimes it's just easier to let your father adopt you!!

#330 - All You Need Is Love... And Heroin - The Unenlightenedness of Reggie Harding

This week, we look at the first high school basketball player to be drafted by the NBA. The problem was, by that time, he was already accumulating a criminal record that would far surpass anything he would ever do on the basketball court. He was accused of awful things, including an allegedly doing one of those awful things to a future member of The Supremes. He never learned his lesson. Kept drinking, shooting heroin, and finally robbing drug dealers to make a living. This all ends as badly as you might think, but the story isn't over, because his son (a junior) has done even worse things!!

Go straight from high school to the NBA, knock a policeman's hat off his head, and turn into your local, neighborhood Omar with Reggie Harding!!

#284 - Ice Picks & Impersonations - Roswell, New Mexico

This week, in Roswell, New Mexico, an attempt to be a good friend, to a man, with a background of stupidity, backfires, but not on the logical person. Instead, a plot is hatched to remove what the killer perceives as an obstacle to his true love. So, a plot is hatched that includes one of the most brazen, broad daylight kidnapping/murder plots, ever thought up. Was the victim taken away by a police detective? Or a cold blooded murderer? A truly twisted plot, complete with a terrible murder, complete with ice picks & extension cords. A truly bizarre & disturbing murder, that could have easily been avoided!!

Along the way, we find out that the town of Roswell depends on the belief of aliens, to stay afloat, that you should need more than a radio on your belt, for a school to hand over a teenager, and that after you see a stabbing, you shouldn't be surprised by a strangling!!

#172 - Natural Born Killer Idiots in Chubbuck, Idaho

This week, in Chubbuck, Idaho, two young men, seeking the infamy of their serial killer heroes for themselves, they set out to make a mark on the world, with murder. Luckily for police, they brazenly document most of their own thoughts, actions, and confessions on video, that is found after the boys finally go too far, and commit a senseless, and brutal killing. This one is extra crazy!

Along the way, we find out that people in Idaho don't seem to like Idaho, that you probably shouldn't video incriminating things, and that Ed Gein might not be the best role model for the youth!!
