    Podcast Summary

    • Empowerment InsightsMafia control in NYC waned after key criminal events, while health discussions emphasize the importance of understanding one’s body, such as identifying parasites through hair analysis, to promote overall wellness and personal empowerment.

New York City once struggled with mafia control, but significant events, like the murder of Carmine Galante, began shifting the tide in law enforcement's ability to prosecute. In another realm, health and wellness conversations highlight how insights, such as from hair analysis, help identify issues like parasites and encourage preventive health practices. This shows how our past experiences and understanding of the body can lead to better overall well-being. Additionally, personal growth podcasts, such as 'I Choose Me', stress the importance of choosing health and happiness, with hosts sharing their transformative journeys. Ultimately, both discussions emphasize empowerment, whether in combating organized crime or promoting personal health and wellness through knowledge and introspection.

    • Parasite AwarenessMany people unknowingly harbor parasites, which are difficult to detect using standard medical tests. Regular practices like washing produce and considering deworming can help improve gut health and prevent the risks associated with parasitic infections.

Parasites are more common than people realize, with studies suggesting that as many as 85 to 90% of us might have some level of parasitic overgrowth. Traditional testing methods like blood tests or stool tests fail to detect many parasites, as they are often too small and elusive. We can acquire parasites through regular activities like eating undercooked meat, kissing pets, or not washing produce properly. Symptoms from food poisoning may indicate the presence of parasites as our bodies try to expel them. Unlike many cultures that include regular deworming, people in Western societies tend to ignore this issue, believing their environments are sterile. Increased awareness and parasite cleanses can help improve gut and overall health, as parasites can affect everything from gut balance to even links with conditions like cancer and multiple sclerosis. Understanding where parasites come from is key to fostering better health practices.

    • Parasite ActivityA full moon enhances parasite activity in the body due to hormone changes, making it an optimal time for parasite cleanses to target and eliminate them effectively.

During a full moon, our bodies experience changes in hormone levels, such as a decrease in melatonin and an increase in serotonin. Parasites are attracted to serotonin, leading them to become more active and more likely to cause symptoms. This makes the full moon an ideal time for a parasite cleanse since their increased activity may allow for easier targeting and removal of these unwanted organisms from our bodies. Additionally, while parasites are often thought to inhabit the gut, they can also be found in other body parts. Keeping track of hormonal changes, the increased activity of parasites, and the body’s natural rhythms can assist in maintaining health and well-being.

    • Parasite ManagementParasites can enter our bodies and migrate, causing various health issues. Proper preparation and responsible cleansing can help manage and expel them effectively.

Parasites can enter our bodies in various ways, often starting in the intestines, and they are capable of migrating to different parts of the body, including sinuses and even the brain. Symptoms can include chronic sinus infections, which can sometimes lead to unexpected experiences, like passing a parasite through the mouth. Effective parasite cleansing requires preparation to support the body’s natural drainage pathways and to avoid getting sick from sudden detoxification. Since parasites can be picked up frequently, it’s important to cleanse responsibly and not just jump into treatments without proper guidance and support.

    • Cleansing InsightsEffective parasite cleansing requires preparation and the right approach. Most people may have parasitic overgrowth, but symptoms vary. Customized protocols and using herbs help eliminate parasites and improve health.

Preparing for a cleansing process, especially around the full moon, is essential for effectively eliminating parasites. A thorough approach may involve a 30-day prep, followed by a seven-day liver cleanse. Utilizing targeted herbs and binders helps flush out toxins released during the cleanse. Many people may have parasitic overgrowth, yet symptoms vary. It's important to follow a comprehensive protocol to eliminate parasites in all their life cycles and prevent them from returning. Continuous support is available, including epigenetic hair analysis to customize health plans focused on individual needs, potentially leading to increased energy and improved overall health.

    • Parasite AwarenessParasite cleanses are important for health, especially for symptoms like fatigue and digestive issues. Annual cleanings, guided by tools like hair analysis, can help identify and treat underlying problems, ensuring better nutrient absorption and overall well-being.

Maintaining good health often requires more than just a balanced diet or regular exercise; it's essential to consider potential parasites that might affect our wellbeing. Symptoms like restless sleep, fatigue, and digestive issues can hint at parasitic infections. Regular parasite cleanses, especially annually or during full moons, can help clear these out of your system. Tools like hair analysis can provide insights into underlying imbalances and help target specific issues. Addressing parasites is crucial because they can rob our bodies of essential nutrients, leading to problems like low iron or chronic fatigue. Being proactive about cleansing and monitoring symptoms can lead to better overall health and a clearer understanding of our bodies’ needs.

    • Empowerment Through PodcastsPodcasts like "I Choose Me" and "In Our Own World" empower listeners by exploring self-care, justice, and personal growth, highlighting the transformative power of individual choices and shared stories.

In today's world, individuals are finding empowerment and inspiration through podcasts and personal stories. Programs like Jenny Garth's "I Choose Me" focus on self-care and personal growth, encouraging listeners to advocate for their well-being. Meanwhile, intriguing stories of justice against organized crime remind us that change is possible. Whether it's about health, happiness, or overcoming obstacles, multiple podcasts explore themes that help listeners navigate life’s complexities. From sharing wisdom on cleanses to diving into the depths of culture and identity with "In Our Own World," these audio experiences offer valuable insights for anyone seeking transformation. It's all about embracing new perspectives, being proactive in choosing one's path, and connecting with others who are also on their journey toward a better life. Finding encouragement and guidance through these platforms can lead to a more fulfilled and meaningful existence.

PART 2: Do You WANT to Stop Dieting, But You Have No Idea What That Even Looks Like (and the alternative terrifies you!)? Let's Talk About It! (Outweigh)

PART 2: Do You WANT to Stop Dieting, But You Have No Idea What That Even Looks Like (and the alternative terrifies you!)? Let's Talk About It! (Outweigh)

OUTWEIGH: Leanne is back for Part 2 of this series to help you understand how to get off the diet roller coaster for good.

So many women WANT to stop dieting, but they don't know how, or they don't know what that even looks like, because it's all they've ever known.

So this idea of "food freedom" or NOT being on some sort of diet is not only foreign to them, but it's actually pretty scary, because all their brain has known is what it's like to count, measure, restrict, and control.

Or their brain knows what it's like to bounce to the opposite end of the spectrum, and end up in an uncontrollable cycle of mindless eating, emotional eating, stress eating, or binging, and they just end up feeling super out-of-control.

This week Leanne is laying out the 5 step crystal-clear path way to finally STOP dieting without feeling like you're going off the deep end if you're NOT on something.

    HOST: @leanneellington

Getting Out of Your Comfort Zone + Why You Should Never Kiss Your Dog + Gratitude + Mantras & Intentions for 2024 (the Year of Empowerment)

FIRST THING: Amy read something special her sister wrote called That Time We Tore Down the Fence. Loving your neighbors well, getting outside of your comfort zone, and answering dreams, but never forgetting what you have experienced and learned and loved on the way.

SECOND THING: Taft Hansen (a medical laboratory scientist/parasitologist) is a guest for this continued conversation about parasites. He sent Amy an email after hearing her episode with Katie Decker and he wanted to contribute. They talk about why you should never kiss your dog, cooking meat properly, parasites in the brain and more.

3RD THING: Taft's wife Morgan joins in for '4 Things Gratitude' and some good movie, tv and book recommendations come up during it!

4TH THING: Amy's cousin, Amanda Rieger Green is on talking about how 2024 is the year of empowerment. She released a Numerology Guide Book that’s special for this year (an 8 year, BTW) and people are loving it, so Amanda gave us the details & also shared with us some mantras and intentions that are good for us to use this year specifically!

What to Do When You Feel Misunderstood (5th Thing)

What to Do When You Feel Misunderstood (5th Thing)

Amy & Cryo Kat (Therapy Kat is on her honeymoon!!) are back together again talking about a recent sacrifice that was made in the name of their friendship + things you can say when you're feeling misunderstood + their obsession with things like AlphaTenn Bars & ground beef & the 'cocaine queen.'

PART 1: Do You WANT to Stop Dieting, But You Have No Idea What That Even Looks Like (and the alternative terrifies you!)? Let's Talk About It! (Outweigh)

OUTWEIGH: So many women WANT to stop dieting, but they don't know how, or they don't know what that even looks like, because it's all they've ever known.

But again, NOT being ON something scares them, because when they are not ON, they are totally OFF, and as you can imagine, it's one massive vicious cycle and downward spiral.

And because this topic truly is multi-faceted, Leanne broke it up into 2 parts. Part 1 is about the mindset and heartset and brainset shifts that need to happen to make the strategy-side-of-things Leanne will share in Part 2 even possible.

So enjoy this episode, and make sure to come back next week where Leanne is going to break it down into 5 crystal clear steps of what that actually looks like to heal from the diet mentality for good.

Elevate Your Confidence, Style & Power with This Life-Changing Tip

Elevate Your Confidence, Style & Power with This Life-Changing Tip

Amy just discovered color matching & it's blown her mind. Her guest, Hannah Garber (a color analyst) breaks it all down for us. Amy met Hannah after she booked an appointment to find out her "season" (she learned she's a 'cool summer' palette, btw) and when Hannah told Amy her underlying skin tone was one that radiates in NAVY BLUE & NOT BLACK Amy was fascinated! She knew she wanted Hannah on the podcast ASAP. Why are we just now learning about this? In a nutshell, we all have certain colors that give us the power to show up with more confidence and look our best. Everything from the way we color our hair, to our makeup choices, the clothing we wear, nail color, jewelry etc..

Amy & Hannah talk about the colors/seasons (winter, summer, spring & autumn), confidence, capsule wardrobes (imagine if getting dressed was easy!!), the science behind it all, how Hollywood uses color matching for character building (shout out Anne Hathoway in Devil Wears Prada) & so much more (like memories of our moms with their signature lip colors & how switching your mascara color from black to brown is a game-changer or vice versa...it all depends on the "season" that you are!)

DM Hannah on IG. She'd love to hear from you: @houseofcolournashville_hannah

How Gwyneth Paltrow Releases Anger & Do You Rank Your Friends? (5th Thing)

How Gwyneth Paltrow Releases Anger & Do You Rank Your Friends? (5th Thing)

Today’s quote is from Ally Fallon: “You rarely know the whole story already – when things don’t make sense it’s usually because there’s missing data, untapped information. Maybe someone is keeping something from you, maybe you’re keeping something from yourself. Maybe certain things are none of your business - and maybe you need to wait a little longer to collect more puzzle pieces.”

What are the facts in the story you’ve built in your head? Practice patience – the other pieces of the puzzle are coming.

Amy & Kat “popcorn” through different topics:

    • How Kat’s feeling leading up to her wedding!
    • What’s the right way to order your bridesmaids/groomsmen?
    • Survey: 1/3 of Americans feel lonely at least once per week
    • Filling your cup with connection & community
    • Horrible hygiene habits that are way too common
    • Gwyneth Paltrow uses a baseball bat to release anger
    • Emotional intelligence quiz
    • Gaslighting and the Keanu Reeves mindset (2+2=5)

Will Amy make 2024 the year of no shoes in her house? Only time will tell :)

Wishing Kat a happy wedding week!!! Check out her episode about The Loneliness Epidemic on You Need Therapy.
