Steven Saltzman Interview - Steven talks James Bond and more

Steven Saltzman Interview - Steven talks James Bond and more
Steven Saltzman Interview. In honor of the 60th anniversary of James Bond movies, and to get a unique perspective on the making of the first 9 James Bond movies, we invited a very special guest, Steven Saltzman, to join us today! So join us now for this very special and exclusive Steven Saltzman interview! Steven had a unique childhood as he grew up as the James Bond franchise blossomed. He got to see the movies made and knew the cast and crew, and their children. How? Well, Steven is the son of Harry Saltzman and was a child when the Bond series started. Harry Saltzman co-produced the first nine Eon Productions James Bond movies. He also produced the first three Harry Palmer movies THE IPCRESS FILE, FUNERAL IN BERLIN, and BILLION DOLLAR BRAIN. Hear Steven Saltzman talk about being on the sets of those early Bond movies, how the family we always hear about in the Bond movies works, how he made some extra money in high school because of his James Bond connection, and many more fun stories of the James Bond world. Harry Palmer And of course we talked about the Harry Palmer movies his father produced. And, we talk a bit about the THE IPCRESS FILE television series that was released in Spring of 2022, for which Steven was an Executive Producer. We have an episode with Steven about the THE IPCRESS FILE series in our March 13, 2022 podcast episode. However, that interview was recorded in between the UK and US releases. We had to couch what we said in order to not give anything away. Now, Steven is able to give us a producer's insight in delivering a show for both the UK and US audiences. There are some things you, the audience member sitting in your own country, probably wouldn't think of. However, the producers must think about these things, as there are cultural differences. What's Next? We also discuss some of the projects Steven is working on now. He even gives us a scoop! So, join us for this fun Steven Saltzman interview. He gives us the elephants (listen to find out what that means). Ideas/Comment? info@spymovienavigator.com Website Episode Page: https://bit.ly/3iWQgsC Check out our other podcasts on our website. Â

Hitchcock Spy Movie Techniques with Tony Lee Moral

Hitchcock Spy Movie Techniques with Tony Lee Moral
Do you want to understand the Alfred Hitchcock spy movie techniques? Tony Lee Moral returns to discuss his new book "The Young Alfred Hitchcock's Movie Making Masterclass". His book teaches you Hitchcock's process of making a movie. We discuss these techniques with Tony and apply them to how Hitch used them in making his spy movies. Some of the topics we examine are how Hitchcock pionered "the wrongfully accused man", the double chase (or double pursuit), using exotic locations, suave villains, how action and fight scenes are filmed, and of course the MacGuffin, and more. As an example, we look at the Hitchcock quote about spies: “heroes in their own country and villains in the foreign country” and look at how he used this idea in his spy movies. In addition to looking at where Hitchcock used these techniques, we also discuss where other spy movies have used some of these techniques. It's an interesting discussion looking at our favorite movie genre through the lens of the master director. Find out what movies use the Hitchcock spy movie techniques. You can order Tony's book here on Amazon or here on Barnes and Noble. Ideas/Comments?
