    Podcast Summary

    • Creating and sharing content is essential for building a personal brandConsistently creating and sharing authentic content is crucial for building a strong personal brand and staying competitive in today's business environment

Creating and sharing content on social media is crucial for building a personal brand and staying relevant in today's business environment. Gary Vaynerchuk emphasized this point during a keynote speech in Dallas, where he encouraged hustlers in the real estate wholesale market to document their truth and communicate authentically through video, written word, or audio. He emphasized that putting out content consistently is essential, even if it's a simple story about a missed opportunity or a personal experience. By sharing genuine content, individuals can build a strong personal brand and become less vulnerable to competitors. Content serves as a gateway to growth, and those who fail to establish a presence online risk becoming obsolete.

    • Stay true to yourself and trust your instinctsEven in missed opportunities or setbacks, trust your instincts and learn from mistakes to fully capitalize on future successes.

Even in the face of missed opportunities or setbacks, it's important to stay true to yourself and trust your instincts. The Uber story shared by the speaker is a testament to this idea. He passed on investing in a friend twice, but looking back, he recognizes that it was meant to be. He learned that when he's right, he should go all in, just like in a poker game. This lesson was particularly relevant in the context of content creation, where the speaker, being one of the early adopters of YouTube and Twitter, had consistently been right about trends and opportunities. However, he regrets not fully capitalizing on these opportunities when he had the chance. The speaker encourages everyone to embrace their successes and learn from their mistakes, rather than dwelling on the negatives.

    • From small business to enterprise: seizing opportunities and building a personal brandBuild a personal brand, but don't miss opportunities to expand. Adapt to changing social media platforms and focus on strengths, not narcissism.

Focusing on building a strong personal brand can lead to significant growth, but it's important to seize opportunities when they arise and not regret missed chances. The speaker shares his experience of growing his father's business from a small operation to a successful enterprise, but admits that he should have pushed harder and expanded further. He also mentions how the effectiveness of certain social media platforms, like Facebook and Instagram, has changed over time, and encourages people to adapt and explore new opportunities. The speaker emphasizes that a personal brand is not about narcissism or showing off, but rather about building a reputation. He encourages introverted or behind-the-scenes individuals not to judge others who are more outspoken or visible, but rather to focus on their own strengths and opportunities for growth. Ultimately, the speaker encourages taking calculated risks and making the most of every opportunity.

    • Ignore the judgments of others and focus on your own journeyDon't let negative comments hold you back, focus on improving and growing, and remember that those leaving negative comments likely have their own struggles. Ignore the judgments of others and focus on your own journey to succeed.

Focusing on the opinions of others, especially when it comes to your appearance, can hold you back from sharing your talents with the world. The speaker emphasizes that there will always be more established brands and individuals than you, but that shouldn't stop you from pursuing your passions, whether it be through audio or video content. He encourages listeners to remember that those leaving negative comments likely have their own struggles and that the energy spent on those comments is better spent on improving and growing. The speaker also draws parallels to athletes, who can't let the crowd's reactions affect their performance. So, focus on your own journey and ignore the judgments of others. Additionally, leaving a rating on platforms like iTunes can help spread the word about your content.

The Most Important Question In Business

The Most Important Question In Business

Here’s the problem most people run into when they create content online: They think they have to have something to say. So many of you aren’t putting out content online because you think you need to have the perfect message, or something “valuable” to share (based on your own arbitrary opinion). And what I’m telling you is, you will get more business if you put out literally anything. If you’re an auto dealer, you could put out a 5 min video every afternoon just recapping what happened in your day. If you’re a real estate agent, you could post updates on what your opinions are about the Super Bowl teams. Get on social media and tell your truth … it’s really that simple.

How To Embrace Your Whole Self By Adopting The New Golden Rule

How To Embrace Your Whole Self By Adopting The New Golden Rule

In Order To Live A Fulfilling, Joyful Life, And Build A Personal Brand, You Must Embrace Your Whole Self. Your Highest And Best Self, Including Your Imperfections.

    The New Golden Rule

The old golden rule says to treat others the way you want to be treated. Emily says, treat yourself the way you want others to treat you. The new golden rule is a guide to help you embrace your whole self.

The way the new golden rule came about was that Emily was doing so much doing for other people seeking validation and acceptance. She was getting to the goal, but wasn’t satisfied and kept wanting more. Throughout this journey, she was never good enough.

Like many of us, Emily had a lot of noise under the service which seeped out in different ways like overworking, being distracted, her relationship with food.

Being Kind Is Not A One Way Street

Upon this realization, Emily began to ask herself, if we are not kind to ourselves, how can we truly be kind to others?

As Emily began to do the work on herself, her life began to transform. Her relationships became more whole-hearted, she developed friendships with people that she could really see, her relationship with her career became more clear. She discovered that she was really meant to be an entrepreneur. Even her relationship with her partner shifted seismically.

Criticism – You Can’t Embrace Your Whole Self If You Are Constantly Criticizing

When we are critical of ourselves, how can we not be critical of others? Emily admitted she was critical of her husband. The natural next step is to do that to your kids. She began to feel so much shame because the narrative in her head about how and who they should be was weighing her down.

The shift in her life from treating herself the way she wanted others to treat her, inspired her to write The New Golden Rule. She had hit rock bottom to take this work on, and she doesn’t want others to have to experience that.
