On May 4th, 2017, 911 dispatchers in Dallas, Georgia received a call from Andy Turner stating he had found his wife Heather deceased in the bathroom from a self inflicted gunshot wound.

5 years later the official cause of death is still inconclusive and the case is still open. Heathers family is still seeking answers and justice for Heather’s death. Premeditated Ramblings 3

In this episode, Val complains about winter (the irony of being born and raised in Canada), tells a cute story about a coffee mug, talks about working from home vs in the office, talks about The Crown, which she finally started watching, and shares an update about an unexpected visit during the recording.

Kate asks Val to help her with an answer key for her students, talks about her Hey Dude shoes, celebrates her 500+ subscribers to her YouTube channel (Adventures without a road map), and tells a story about her dad's podcast.

New French word of the day: "Chien", which means "Dog". In the past episodes, we've had "Chat" (cat), "Chaton" (kitten), and "Invalidité" (disability).

    The Pig Farm Killer

    The Pig Farm Killer

This week, Val takes us to the West coast of Canada, in the area of Vancouver, British Columbia.

From the late 1970s to the early 2000s, women in Vancouver's Downtown East Side, also known as Low Track, started disappearing. As they were sex workers and Indigenous women, the police didn't really care.

And there's this creepy pig farm in Port Coquitlam, BC, where a weird man is luring  in people with drug addictions, and throws big parties at his Piggy Palace Good Times Society.

A case straight out of a horror movie... That happened for real.

Here are the YouTube videos humanizing the victims. Good job there. We strongly recommend watching these documentaries:

    Premeditated Ramblings 1

    Premeditated Ramblings 1

In this new mini-series, Premeditated Ramblings, Kate and Val are, you know, rambling. Instead of leaving it in the regular episode, we'll cut them down in 2 shorter episodes!

This week, Kate talks about her ADHD medication and the struggles of teaching, how she's basically besties with Chvrches's singer, Lauren, a mini-golf course named Smiley Putt Putt in Kansas, and her future hearing aids.

Val talks about her son's ADHD medication (and all the benefits in school), and about the Berenstain Bears books. Does anyone else remember the spelling being "Berenstein" with an "e"? Because Val sure does!

Big shout-out to Karate in the Garage podcast for suggesting the name of our mini rambling episodes, Premeditated Ramblings!
